1 out of 5 eggsFailure

Pros: It worked well, while the power supply worked.

Cons: RMA'd it once already and now it takes forever to turn on. It flashes a bit, then blank. Do that about 100 times and it finally turns on. If I am in a rush in the morning, I cannot check something quickly.

2 out of 5 eggsdead pixel, very disappointed

Pros: other than a dead pixel, great quality

Cons: One dead pixel after about 2 months, so no RMA for me. There's only one dead pixel, so warranty does cover either (requires a specific number of dead pixels). Guess what's the most annoying part? It's at top-middle, so it's very obvious. This is my first Samsung monitor. I expect a lot from Samsung b/c the two brands to go for are Samsung and LG, and it gives me a dead pixel like that...I'm very disappointed.

Other Thoughts: The only reason I don't give it one egg is b/c it wasn't DOA nor was it having dead pixels and/or other problems from the start.

...and no, it's not a stuck pixel (I wish it is), it's a DEAD pixel.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper monitor

Pros: I love this monitor. I cant find anything to complain about. It has a sharp picture and great color. Nice size ant the monitor itself has a real super clean and minimalist design. In other words it looks amazing on my desk.

Cons: The stand itself could use a lil something to make it more stable. However i have never had any issues with it what-so-ever unless i really shake the desk. This cant be done by accident. I have to really shake the hell out of it.

Other Thoughts: Great monitor for a great price. I am really kinda irritated that i cant seem to find anymore or them though. This is the second time this has happened to me where i find a really good one and they quit making it. I would love to be able to get my hands on another one.

3 out of 5 eggsAggrevating Buttons!

Pros: Looks great, very thin, no complaints visually. Much brighter and crisper than my older samsung 22".

Cons: I can't tell you how aggrevating the menu buttons are! I wish there was a lock button like on a cellphone. I'm constantly hitting them on accident when moving the monitor or moving cables behind my desk and many times it's screwing up the settings

5 out of 5 eggsCan't Find One For Sale?

Pros: I've been trying to find this 24" inch model for purchase, as it has a great screen & 2 HDMI inputs.
Can't find this 24" version for sale anywhere on the web.
Pricespider product history indicates this 24" model was released sometime in mid January 2011, and 5 months later, "poof" it's gone.

Cons: Not available for sale. :(

Other Thoughts: Would like to know if there is a direct replacement for this 24" model Samsung BX2431(w/ 2HDMI) to be released this year.

4 out of 5 eggsBrilliant

Pros: This thing is gorgeous. It is sooo much lighter and thinner than my older LCD screens. This also runs A LOT cooler than my other LCD screens, LED really is the way to go.

Cons: There is an issue where you get a 1 inch black border on screen when you use the HDMI input. My Radeon allowed me to "overscan" the output and remove the border, but this might be an issue for other users...thus making this screen as effective as a 22 inch monitor. Lack of DVI port is upsetting. The monitor stand seems low to me, and lacks any adjustment to raise the screen.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good monitor

Pros: Stand is actually very sturdy in my opinion and also has some forward/backward tilt. 2ms response is sweet, after proper adjustment all my ghosting went away. No input lag either.

Cons: The only con for me is I wish it could do 75Hz refresh at native resolution.

Other Thoughts: I posted a negative review of this monitor recently but after getting all the adjustments squared away using Kyle H.'s suggestions the monitors colors are very good. My ghosting issue from before was due to setting the response time to "Fastest Mode". After setting it lower to "Faster Mode" the ghosting went away!

5 out of 5 eggsI just got it

Pros: Huge, bright and easy to set up.

Cons: Stand is a little wobbly, but hey once you have it set up how many times do you move it?

Other Thoughts: Replaced a 4yr old HP 22" and you can really tell the difference

2 out of 5 eggsUnhappy

Pros: The cheap stand is actually pretty sturdy and it does have a slight amount of forward/backward tilt.

No dead pixels.

Cons: I am going from a 19" CRT which was awesome. With the new Samsung monitor colors all seem washed out. I played with all the settings but cant get it to look right. Blacks are not very black at all, again it looks washed out. I adjusted the brightness level and it is never right, its either too bright for desktop then you adjust the brightness down, start a game and now its too dark, adjust again..

Other Thoughts: During Battlefield 2142 there is no ghosting, but during Singularity there is a ton of ghosting. During Singularity and the Witcher I also notice tons of screen tearing.

this monitor also gives me slight eye strain and I am pretty sure its due to the 60Hz refresh rate. I always used 75Hz on my old CRT.

4 out of 5 eggsReally nice, but missing some features

Pros: 24" size, 60hz refresh rate, really nice quality colors, 2ms refresh rate, appearance

Cons: Monitor points downward too much. Magictouch software does not work with windows 7 64-bit and is not compatible with my gtx 580 video card.

Other Thoughts: Very large

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung BX2431. Here are suggestions to help with your tilt and MagicTune software:
Place the monitor on a flat sturdy surface, hold the base down firmly with one hand, grasp the top center of the bezel with your other hand and push firmly and gently back. This should tilt the monitor screen back.
