Pros: Incredible colors, uniformity and saturation. Anyone who works in any graphics field would be hard pressed to find a better monitor. Blacks are black, whites are white, colors are the color you'd expect them to be. I'm by no means an expert on monitors but this thing blows away anything else I've seen. I was a bit hesitant to pay this much for a monitor given I could get something for half the price, but given the quality of this one I'm glad I did. Zero dead pixels also (first time I've gotten an LCD that was perfect, thank you NEC).

Cons: The stand seems to wobble a slight bit, nothing noticeable really unless you shake your monitor a lot for some reason, but I thought it worth mentioning.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a dying samsung 19" piece of garbage and couldn't have been happier. I do a fair amount of graphics work and gaming and have just been blown away by how good everything looks on this thing. It's so bright, I mean really bright - maybe too bright!!! H-IPS is definitely the way to go if you want a quality image.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: I was a little worried buying this monitor online. Forget about it, this monitor rocks and is definitely worth the price. Vivid and accurate color reproduction. No backlight bleeding and text is sharp with the DVI cable. If you don't have DVI out on your computer, use the analog to DVI cable included with the monitor. Text was a little fuzzy when using the analog only cable.

I tested the monitor with Windows and Linux (Kubuntu running KDE 4.2). Everything (pictures, video and text) look amazing in both environments. Lots of customization options and tweaking possibilities. Way more than my Dell 2007WFP. If you can afford it, get it, you won't be disappointed. I prefer this one over the 2690 because of the lower dot pitch; otherwise, the bigger version would also be a good choice.

Cons: None except the price. It does cost a lot but this monitor is professional quality.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Perfect Widescreen Gaming Monitor

Pros: This monitor is perfect for PC gaming and is absolutely gorgeous. Anyone looking for a high quality widescreen monitor for gaming...this is it. You pay a bit more but you get what you pay for. No disappointments. Fast, sharp, accurate color, no blurs or ghosting. As a productivity tool, it is a no brainer for web development, document writing, etc.

Cons: Nothing major really. You must visit NEC's website to get the drivers which are in zip format. Download, unzip, go to your monitor properties and select update driver, point to the unzipped folder and your done.

Other Thoughts: I hesitated on buying this monitor due to the price and because there's a HP monitor out there for about half the price. But after researching the experiences people have had with the HP, I decided to spend the money and get some quality. I believe I achieved my goal. I will update this review as time goes by to give proper feedback and perspective.

Right's simply...WOW!!

Thank you NEC and NewEgg.

Pros: better color and quality than my viewsonic vx922. height adjustments are a plus. I play WoW and it looks much better now. Plan to watch movies from my pc now with this.

Cons: came with 2 stuck pixels in the middle of the screen. 1 red and 1 green. jscreenfix did not work in fixing it.

Other Thoughts: it's more expensive because of the H-IPS panel which is better than the more popular TN panels.

4 out of 5 eggsNot just for video professionals.

Pros: Sharpest screen per square inch you can get for a personal HTPC , everyday computer use, and gaming. No ghosting whatsover. Very nice built in processing circuitry. IPS color rendition is addicting having upgraded from a TN panel. NEC support is very good.

Cons: 1 stuck pixel in center. Newegg and NEC pixel policies suck. I would recommend buying elsewhere. Vista 32 bit + ATI 3850 AGP, had to download drivers (no CD included, presumably not normally necessary) from Also you can't use duel displays with HDCP.

Other Thoughts: If you plan on entertaining more than a few people, you'll want the 26" version or the 26" Planar.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Of The Best!

Pros: No dead pixels, no backlight bleeding, no input lag thanks to SLI 8800gts640mb.

Cons: It makes all my other 24inch monitors look like from stone age era.

Other Thoughts: It is very important to go advanced user mode and set Rapid Response mode ON. No ghosting, no blurring either when this option is on and image quality is still the same in games and movies.

5 out of 5 eggsBest LCD I've seen

Pros: Not sure where to start to be honest. This display is the most perfect panel I have ever used, bar none. Perfect backlight uniformity, amazing colors, overwhelming OSD controls(in a good way), and simply the most lifelike ghost/banding-free image I've ever seen produced on an LCD. Simply stunning!

Cons: no hdmi or component inputs but that is not a big deal for who the screen is targeted for.

Other Thoughts: Don't think that this display is only for photographers/video buffs. It is also the best 24" gaming display out there. Even without overdrive there is no noticeable ghosting or input lag.

5 out of 5 eggsAs good as it gets!

Pros: Amazing color uniformity and wide viewing angles. Uses new H-IPS technology with an Advanced True Wide Polarizer to allow for wider viewing angles. The best LCD I've used so far for photo/video editing. I did have to reduce the brightness a bit, but overall, out-of-the-box settings were spot on. Easy to use OSD. I even played a bit of Half Life 2:Episode 2 on it and it's completely capable of providing an enjoyable gaming experience.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This monitor uses the same L.G. Phillips H-IPS panel as the new 24" iMac. The only difference is that the NEC uses a polarizer to eliminate hazing at extreme viewing angles.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: LCD Monitor for photographers has very good specs and delivers on them. No dead/stuck pixels. My first wide-screen takes some getting used to with image filling my field of view. Tack sharp display of text and beautiful for Photoshop. I am thrilled.

Cons: Maybe a little too bright. Monitor has adjustment to reduce brightness 25%, but I intend to set max brightness to 90% and re-calibrate with Monaco 2.6 and OPTIXxr.

5 out of 5 eggsBest monitor ever awesome

Pros: I have 6 of these on my desk at home. I am a daytrader and i can fit so much information on them. I can show the stocks of 40 different company's at once. Plus its awesome for viewing risky videos of women. You can watch a video on one of them in HD and then view pictures on the other 5

Cons: Doesn't do my work for me.

Other Thoughts: Worth double the fifteen hundred i spend on each monitor.
