5 out of 5 eggsLCD Leader

Pros: I will skip the tech specs and go subjective.

Easy on the eyes. Colors are accurate, not overly saturated like many panels that need to compensate for their poor color gambit. Good viewing angles allowing you to shift in your chair and still see the same great picture. Crisp text allows for easier reading despite high res. Refresh rate quick enough for FPS gaming; and I game a lot. No issues being in first place in kills on COD and doing the most damage in L4D. Also, dark areas are discernible with this panel. This is a good thing for creepy games.

Cons: OSD was corrupted on my LCD. Artifacts show up all over the menu. It appears the heat generated from the screen may be the culprit. Being the panel itself was flawless, no stuck pixels, I have ignored this issue.

Other Thoughts: Best LCD I have seen and owned. Many friends and family are using other panels made by different manufactures (Samsung, whoever makes HP/Dell over the past several years, Viewsonic, etc.) though this LCD is without rival. To get a better picture today, you would need to go plasma (I have a Panasonic 42" that makes games look almost real), or, look out a window. :-)

Pros: better colors and clarity than my viewsonic vx922. I play WoW and it looks alot better now.

Cons: came with 2 stuck pixels in the middle of the screen. one red, one green. jscreenfix did not help with the pixel problem.

Other Thoughts: it's more expensive because of the H-IPS panel: superior to the TN panels.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat SV stands for

Pros: Since NEWEGG tends to be customer unfriendly at the highest level, while offering products at a retail price, I'll fill in what's missing.

This model 2490WUXi-BK-SV offers different features, which is why it's a bit more expensive than other 24in monitors of this line.
SV stands for Spectraview: it allows you as close to true-to-real color calibration on your monitor.

What does that mean? Well, if you deal with a lot of digital to print, it'll let you see what your digital media will look like on print(provided your printer is configured correctly).
This is also one of the very few monitors that feature LG H-IPS panel. Other NEC high-end monitors have that as well, but contrary to popular belief, DoubleSight monitors offered here on Newegg uses S-IPS panel.

Cons: This monitor may not be optimal for video editing; Mitsubishi (NEC's partner) offers their high end model as optimal for video editing monitor with same H-IPS panels.
This doesn't mean it's unusable, but if you're die-hard into video editing or creation, I'd suggest Mitsubishi.

Other Thoughts: Comparable product you can find here in Newegg would be the EiZO Nanao monitors. Those are as close as you can get in term of what they do with NEC MultiSync + Spectraview monitors.
EiZO uses primarily made-in-Japan VA panels, and come with their own color calibration software support. If you want more detailed spec comparison, go google it up and read reviews from someone in the field.
