3 out of 5 eggsDecent Monitor: Horizontal Viewing Angle Is Strange

Pros: Cheap, LED, IPS

Cons: Image quality is worse then my samsung xl2370 which is a TN panel.

Other Thoughts: I bought this panel to replace my xl2370 because I read that IPS is better then TN panels. The only thing better about this monitor is the vertical viewing angle. Oddly enough my old monitor has a better horizontal viewing angle and the images just look better then this. I read somewhere that this isnt true IPS but some sort of IPS ripoff. I guess its true that you get what you pay for.

4 out of 5 eggsGood!!

Pros: Good monitor. Haven't found any defects. Using with my msi u230 laptop and the response time is good though laptop video card sucks. design is clean and seems modern.

Cons: HDMI connector is not included in the package. So using old blue connector.

5 out of 5 eggsBest value for the money

Pros: 1. IPS panel for $199 (after promo code)
2. Lots of extra features for the price point (Thru Mode, PiP, remote)
3. Very bright

Cons: The stand is the only issue I can think of. As other reviewers noted, it is tilt only and feels a bit cheap.

Other Thoughts: If you can get an IPS monitor for under 300, you're good. I paid $199 which is absurd for all the features you get, let alone the awesome picture off this monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor, but the stand is flimsy

Pros: Beautiful IPS panel. Extremely bright. I set it back to about 55% (ships at 100%.) A deal compared to other IPS monitors, some of which supposedly use the same LG-sourced panel.

Cons: The stand on this is a big problem. The 1.5" wide plastic upright is completely inadequate for such a wide panel. It wobbles badly, even with light typing and mousing. If you bump the desk, it will continue to wobble for 2-3 seconds. I have an RMA pending, but ordered the Ergotron VESA monitor stand. If a $40 stand will make this panel usable, it will still a viable option for an IPS panel at this price point. Otherwise it's going back.

Other Thoughts: I bought this panel for my wife to use in her photography editing station. She loves it, other than the issues with the base.

5 out of 5 eggsE2370

Pros: I absolutely love these monitors! I got 3 of these for my gaming/graphic design build, with 2 GTX 590's powering them, and they are easily the best monitors i have ever owned. The colors are great compared to my old 27" samsung, i love the PiP feature, helps a lot for formatting other PC's while still having mine operational, and the Thru Mode works exactly as advertised, ESPECIALLY for gaming, goes from around 15-20ms lag to 2-3ms lag with the click of a button. Another great feature is the remote control, i have my monitors in a surround setup, and i just point the remote to the right side of the middle monitor, and i can turn all 3 off at once. The stands are very sturdy, and have tilt features, and the stand doesnt stick too far out from the front of the monitor, so you can have your keyboard all the way up to the monitor (which i like)

Cons: it occasionally will reset after i turn one off, and i have to reenable thru mode

Other Thoughts: great price for an IPS panel, best bang for your buck.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat price on a good screen

Pros: * excellent color
* so many ports (d-sub, 2 HDMI, DVI)
* great price ($209) from Newegg
* comes with DVI and VGA cables. That's a rarity these days.

Cons: * terrible stand, just terrible. It's held together by one screw in the base. Doesn't rotate or swivel.
* takes some configuration to get a good picture. I'm using a Pantone Huey Pro calibrator
* no USB
* Super+ Resolution feature doesn't seem to help, just seem to kick up the contrast ratio.

Other Thoughts: If you're using an ATI card, remember to set "underscan" to 0% in the Catalyst Control Center.

If you're using HDMI on an ATI card, make sure to set your pixel format to RGB 4:4:4 in the CCC. It defaults to YCbCr 4:4:4, which causes blurring.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Ordered 2 of these. Very nice colors especially on SRGB mode. Many input options compared to competition.

Cons: Uneven backlight and very bad light bleed on right corner on both of them. The light bleed is noticeable even at 30% brightness.

Other Thoughts: check with Dell and HP IPS monitors also.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for desktop publishing/design

Pros: Consistent Colors across the screen with a decent viewing angle.
Inexpensive enough to buy 2, 1 for tools one for workspace
Energy Efficient
Good color range (not great but good)
Easy set-up, light weight.
The 3 major input options, VGA, DVI and HDMIx2

Cons: Definitely not true out of the box, preset is warm but still leans towards blue.
Limited controls for color adjustments
Remote does not control monitor menu, adjustments must be done on the monitor
Cant get HDMI audio to work.

Other Thoughts: As a designer I really only care about the screen and the colors. The rest is fluff.
Out of the box the presets on these were "warm" which I found interesting because after pulling out my pantones and some print projects the monitor was pretty clearly leaning towards blue.
The controls for adjusting colors are frustrating, my last monitor had adjustments for Hue, Sat, Bright and Contrast. You couldn't really get much closer to HSV so I loved it.
This has RGB settings and each goes from 0-100... (I'm guessing 100 is 255?) It also only allows you to choose between 2 preset gammas.
After a few hours of looking at print materials and pantones and comparing them to the screen in Photoshop I eventually used a combo of the Win7 calibration tool and the monitors menu to get it really close. Closer than the Westinghouse actually.
It was frustrating to get there but I am pretty happy now. I'm not even bothering with the second monitor. It's for tools.
Haven't tried sound.

3 out of 5 eggsEhh

Pros: Great picture and viewing angle. Colors (pretty) true right out of the box.

Cons: My unit has light bleeding on the bottom right corner as well as along the right side. This is unacceptable. I should've seen thing coming since LG has been having this problem with their other screens (iPad 2, G2x). So, just beware.

Other Thoughts: Luckly Newegg is awesome and is letting me return this monitor for a full refund. Even though it only qualifies for an exchange.
