3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: decent price, nice black levels and viewing angles for a TN panel

Cons: The one I have is not an IPS or MVA panel, as the specs and published reviews would have you believe. It's a decent TN panel, not a high-end monitor at a shockingly low price.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Display I've owned

Pros: Absolutely fantastic looking display. So bright that accuracy for photos really requires you to turn it down a little bit. I've never noticed ghosting with any games I've played, all at 1680x1050 if the option is available(hundreds of games, I'm a tester). The clarity and dotpitch are amazing. The gloss screen is the best I've ever used, it really looks wet and alive. The stand is very heavy and sturdy, make sure your desk can handle a heavy monitor. Heck, even the speakers do their job when I take it to LAN's, they sound great for built-ins.

Cons: I got mine when it came out in 2006 from newegg for a way higher price than today. Really not a con, in fact it's great that the price has dropped so much. I would like to get another one now that they aren't $549/each.

Other Thoughts: After all of this time using it, I'm extremely satisfied. I've never had a single problem with it. I have two dead pixels, one at the very bottom of the screen and one at the very top. You have to LOOK for them to even see them. I haven't been able to figure out how to completely detach the stand, just the base, but I'd like to get it VESA mounted one day when I pick up a second one. They have the 22" version of this now, the Acer F-22. The styling on it is much more minimal which can be nice, but it is much less impacting than the F-20. The screen looks fantastic but the dot pitch on the F-22 isn't quite as sharp as this one due to the extra 2". The F-22 is a great monitor, the F-20 is a work of art. Don't debate it, just buy it.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Monitor

Pros: Best looking gloss monitor on the market, bar none. Very high quality gloss, could pass for CRT 'glass' look any day of the week. The paint and finish on the stand are excellent and the controls for the monitor are intuitive and easy to use. Up and running out of the box with no issues at all, no dead pixels and no light leak.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: If you've been wanting a red monitor to complement your rig, this one is definitely a great buy. Slightly dated now in 08', but still a STUNNING monitor and worth every penny.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing...

Pros: Crisp, smooth looking screen that almost looks wet. Minimal ghosting of games at 1680x1050.

Cons: Programs that do not support widescreen resolutions get a distored image and just plain looks like hell. Most programs are now widescreen compatible, or have patches to make them compatible with wide screens.

Other Thoughts: Ghosting is a thing of the past. Now it seems lcd's are starting to "fuzz" for lack of better terms. High res games are now fuzzy when movement occurs. Objects in game are undefined until movement stops. Some poor quality CRT's suffered from this in the late 90's, but nothing compared to what i'm seeing in LCD's.

5 out of 5 eggsAcer F-20

Pros: I absolutely love this LCD. The response time is great, the color is fantastic. I had to turn the brightness down a bit, but even all the way up, the colors are vibrant and clear. The gloss screen is really what sold me on this LCD, but when I got it, the clarity, the quality of the stand, the awesome aesthetics, just blew me away. I use primarily for Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Lightwave, which looks fantastic for all 3. The games I occassionally play (Oblivion and UT 2k4)look great on here.

Cons: I could see how the gloss screen could get annoying if you were in a overly bright room or outside. But most people aren't.I had 1 dead pixel but it's in the corner and doesn't bother me.

Other Thoughts: Newegg lowered the price immediately after I ordered it, but that happens. I plan to order a second one to match it. I get lots of compliments on this LCD because it really is the best looking LCD I've used.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent LCD

Pros: My workplace mistakenly ordered this one instead of the non-ferrari one. It is aesthetically beautiful. Everyone in the office complements it when the see it. :-) The OSD is pretty straightforward and it has an Auto-Adjust feature, which is really nice when you have 3-4 machines connected to it via a KVM. It's extremely bright! Settings go 0-100 and I have at 60. 80 or above are too bright and even hurts your eyes. :-)

Display is very sharp as well. VGA input with a DVI output on your computer is a litle fuzzy when compared to DVI<>DVI, but that was expected. Just a warning.

Cons: Built-in speakers are pretty weak, but I wanted an LCD, not a stereo, so I didn't care.

Cable ports are very hard to reach. You have to open this little "door" that's on the mount to get the cables through, but it's small even for small hands.

Lots of button presses to switch between DVI and VGA inputs: Menu > right > right > enter > down > down > down > enter > up/down (to select input) > enter > menu > menu (two menu clicks to exit).

Other Thoughts: I didn't pay for it, so I can't comment on its price, but overall this and the non-ferrari model are at the top of the list of best-looking LCD monitors. If you're looking for style, this is a good choice.
