The fix...
- Pros: Very large screen for the price, brightness, variety of settings.
- Cons: Lacks the height adjustments of the new 24". Highly annoying DVI issue with native resolution. Color intensity and other settings kinda crazy out of the box; require adjustment.
- Other Thoughts: I personally think the 24" is more pleasing to the eye; seems like a better panel. The price/size difference between the 24" and this is not worth it, IMO.
Finally got Acer to admit problem and fix our monitors. All three we bought had to be sent to Acer.

Good price-performance ratio
- Pros: No problems with resolution. HDCP support. Excellent grayscale tracking.
- Cons: Requires a dual link DVI cable not included with the monitor. The included cable is single link and therefore is useless.
- Other Thoughts: Excellent and fairly accurate grayscale tracking can be had by setting contrast & brightness to 50% and setting red to 100%, green to 90% and blue to 80%. The temperature between 20 and 100 IRE is 6500K ± 100K as measured by spyder2 and HCFR. Excellent results for accurate color reproduction.

- Pros: Size. I like the Silver shell too. Supposedly an S-IPS panel; no banding issues. I give it a 2.5 rating.
- Cons: Extremely poor blacks and whites. Picture is significantly inferior to that of the Acer X241Wsd; cloudy and ugly.
- Other Thoughts: 1900x1200 out of the box. Manufacturing date: Feb 2007. Model:Wsd
For Acer bad hits
- Pros: Worried about new egg buyers comments, as before with my acer 24 in., All bad comments have proved wrong on both. Fired up with 24 in. software and 24 in. dvi cable. Basic removed 24 in. hocked up 26 in. and it fired up.
- Cons: Why do you have to turn the monitor upside down to plug in cables. Menu setup still bad, but wasn,t needed. Won't tilt back.
- Other Thoughts: My 24 in. died due to bios crasing needing up grade, causing power spike. Also, lcds get hot put a lcd tv and a sli computer around your monter and turn of the house heater.
love it
- Pros: Had it for a while now and still loving it.
- Cons: controls are a bit hard to use if you have large fingers, but no big deal
- Other Thoughts: it is a 25.5", not a 26", it's gone down $100 since I got mine so is even a better deal than before. Make sure your computer is up to running the software at this high of resolutions.
