FAIR
- Pros: Good picture on this monitor. Good price. not bad looking...just dont touch it. No pixel issues. Had it purchased by a foundation who I do design for, as a secondary (budget) 20in LCD.
- Cons: The cabinet and stand are inferior quality. It feels pretty cheap and flimsy overall. (driving me nuts) Sits very low with no height adjustment, and no swivel. Wider than average. Power and menu buttons are a joke. Miserable cable management system. Wobbly and slides around on my desk. Backlight bleeding at top in a dark room.
- Other Thoughts: If a client didnt pay for this...it would probably be going back.
Overall: Picture quality is good, if no one handles it, might last for a while. If it were my buck I would not pay over 80.00 for it. Might be overly critical, used to working on apple / LaCie monitors. Before buying this online, I would locate it locally and inspect it for yourself before buying.
Awesome
- Pros: Great size! Awesome price: Got it for $129 shipped in 2 days.

- Other Thoughts: Menu does take some time to get used to but not that bad. Power button, not a big deal at all either. Oh when I first plugged it in, i used a non grounded plug, and immidiately realized some noise in the picture, especially obvious with dark colors, then switched the plug to a grounded one, and no noise at all. Oh and this ACM feature is quite nice, but when the screen is very dark, monitor makes a high pitch whining noise. not that bothering, you only notice it when you set the backgorund all black, then ACM adapts to the new incoming signal.

Solid monitor
- Pros: I'm completely satisfied with this monitor. It's the first wide screen I've had and took a bit of getting used to the view, but now I can have normally sized window side by side and view both with ease. Have had no problems with it at all. Delivered quickly and safely.
- Cons: Takes a little bit of time to wake up. Move the mouse and 15-30 seconds later you have visual.
Nothing great but very affordable
- Pros: Nice colors, very bright, easy to setup and use, very affordable
- Cons: Sits way too low on the desk and can only be tilted so you'll need a riser of some kind, colors may be a little off, user interface is a little hard to figure out.
- Other Thoughts: I got one of these in July for $100 and it had a dead pixel, I brought it back to the store and they gave me another which was great...up until a week ago when it started flickering slightly. I think these monitors are nice for the price but are nothing special. Only use them if you have a VGA out for the best performance. If I was buying again I would stay away from Acer.
Very Nice
- Pros: This is a very nice monitor for the price. i didn't need to adjust a thing when i plugged it in (brightness, contrast, ect).
As mentioned in a previous review, it DOES come with a DVI-to-DVI cable, it's about 5ft in length, Newegg should update it. As well as the VGA cable (Which is nice to have an extra). Vista detected it right away, no driver needed. Set res to 1600x900 automatically and looks amazing.
The screen is not glossy, it is a matte finish like on older LCD monitors, which is just what i wanted (I play games and don't want to see me when i look at the monitor. not to mention its doesn't glare).
All my games run flawlessly at 1600x900
GTA4 looks great
COD4 is AMAZING
- Cons: The ONLY con i can think of is the stand is a bit flimsy. I'm not worried its gonna fall or anything, just when you NEED to adjust it you need to hold the base so it won't break. Not a drawback from buying one tho.
- Other Thoughts: Go for a big one. you might not think now, but you WILL want a bigger one later on, trust me... i do :(
