This review is from: Acer B193DJbmdh Black 19" 5ms Swivel & Height Adjustable LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ACM 50000:1(800:1) Built-in Speakers
Pros: Unlike other Acer monitors, which require the user to assemble a 2-part stand and then attach the stand to the monitor, this unit comes fully assembled. As a result, the box is somewhat larger, but this is much more convenient for the user. Power, DVI, D-sub, and audio cables are included. The front-panel buttons have a nice feel, and the power indicator LED glows blue when the monitor is in use.
Cons: When this monitor was first powered on, there were 2 stuck pixels -- one red and one white. After a few minutes and a light touch with a fingertip, the red pixel was no longer stuck. However, the white pixel remained stuck. Running a program which displays different colors in rapid sequence did not resolve the stuck white pixel. Per the owners manual, 1 bad pixel is within the range of what is considered to be normal, and is not covered by the warranty. Yes, I realize that bad pixels do happen, but this is the first time that I have had one. Minus one egg.
Other Thoughts: The on-screen menu has a setting for color balance. The choices are: 1) "Warm", the factory setting, which seems to add more red and yellow, 2) "Cool", which adds blue, so that even white icons appear as a shade of blue, and 3) "User", which allows you to manually adjust the colors. "User" defaults to R=80, G=80, B=80, which makes the color neutral. I recommend that you enter the on-screen menu and change this setting to "User". Otherwise, you may make prints and wonder why the image doesn't look the same as it did on your monitor.
