1 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor when it worked -- died just over a year from purchase

Pros: Well consider I'm writing this review pretty upset right now , just tonight when I got home from work it appears this monitor has more or less "died"....I turn it on I get hazy "lime" colors in tons of greens and oranges in outlines of the acer logo and then it does the same to the windows background. Mind you just the previous night it worked fine not a single hint of trouble. Here's the kicker I had a 1 year protection with this.... guess what the one year was up last month -- mere weeks ago. $575 paid for a monitor that dies in just a year and a few weeks? That's build quality? I'm pretty disgusted right now. A buddy of mine suggested there's a chance the Display Port cable is the problem and went bad -- I'm not expert in video cables of any type but my luck and experience around machines is telling me the montior went bad not the cable. I'll try a cable for S & G's and if it works I'll come back here and eat my own words on this review but I *severely* doubt its the cable. Tested the video card btw that seems to be fine -- I have other monitors...just nothing that was as beautiful as that 27" display....well for the year it worked anyway. Buyer beware...I'm not the only guy that had one of these die in short order. Too expensive for that .

Cons: I didn't like how it STOPPED WORKING AFTER A YEAR.. Yeah I thought that was kind of a bummer after dropping almost $600 on it in Feb 2015!
i've owned many computers in my time, owned many many monitors in return (running on one of my spares as I type this) ....ironically not a single monitor I paid LESS than $300 for has ever died on me in many many years... buy a $600 monitor that thing croaks in 13 months....makes you wonder.......this monitor I'm using -- 6 years old still works like a champ....paid less $200 for it. lol.

Other Thoughts: Until tonight's discovery (and free time wasted trying to troubleshoot it) I would have given this monitor a 4.5 EASY... Now in good conscience I can only grant it 1 egg. You can make the best looking monitor in the world -- if you don't build it to last at least a few years , it means nothing because people are just throwing their money away on your product. Like I just did on this.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing! Solved my problem!

Pros: Excellent quality and refresh rate. Crystal clear with sharp contrast. The G-Sync fixed the screen tearing I was having on my old 60hz monitor. You'll be hard pressed to find a better 27" with G-Sync for the price!

Cons: It's nit-picky, but the base is a bit of a pain to work around while attaching the cords since it launches out as if it were spring-loaded. Just be careful when setting up and it won't be an issue.

Other Thoughts: Overall, if you are looking to upgrade to a nice monitor with G-Sync, this is the best route you can go!

1 out of 5 eggsFine when it works

Pros: It's big and it looks nice. Ok price for gsync when on sale.

Cons: The first arrived and died within 4 hours of use. It was replaced with a fairly simple RMA. But, waiting for stuff to get shipped and processed for a product that should have worked in the first place is weak.

I'm a few months in now and a pixel has died. Just one, all by his lonesome. Not stuck mind you - dead.

It's not worth replacing it again as it'd be through manufacturer instead of newegg by now. And the only time you can really see it is when a big white browser page is on screen, like when reviewing a product on newegg's website.

Other Thoughts: Gsync is cool, and I like it. I can't really say what it's worth, though. These monitors are gd expensive and I've had 2 defective ones in a row. If you want to spend a bunch, go find another one - and hopefully one that does what you're paying so much for.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent, but possibly poor quality control

Pros: - G-sync is a great technology
- Pretty acceptable color for a TN
- Decent size for 1080p
- 144hz

Cons: - 4-6 Dead pixels within 6 months
- Extremely bad light bleed and distortion (visible horizontal lines on solid colors in the top right corner)
- Controls are lackluster
- Price (unless you got it for $400 like I did)

Other Thoughts: It's a good monitor for the $400 price tag, but due to poor QC I wouldn't buy another one, especially at over $600. An IPS G-sync monitor will be a better choice once they become more affordable. Acer isn't pleasant to deal with. I had bad color distortion on the top of the monitor (heavy green tint) and the whole process to return it was so cumbersome that I said forget it. Though with the recent light bleed, distortion, and dead pixels I think I am going to return it.

5 out of 5 eggsAcer XB270H Abprz Black 27" 1ms (GTG) 144HZ LED LCD G-SYNC 1080p Monitor

Pros: This screen is amazing for those who choose 1080p as resolution for gaming.

I order this monitor on Monday and receive it on Wednesday. Fast shipping. Best tag price i found. Newegg are the best !

The refresh rate of 1ms and the g-sync gives a really nice and smooth gaming experience. The display colors, brightness, and contrast are good. I don't see a real difference between the pixel pitch of my old 24" monitor and this one. Even at 27" in 1080p, the pixels are small enough to gives a good image quality. No dead pixels or stock pixels at all. I can't try NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 and NVIDIA Lightboost yet (I don't have the NVIDIA 3d kit), but it is a nice feature include with this monitor. I am glad I bought it. For gaming, it worth your money.

Cons: Only one Display Port (not an issue for me).

Other Thoughts: View angles are not bad for a TN panel but it can be an issues to some people. This is a gaming monitor. If you don't buy it for gaming, it is a waste of money.

1 out of 5 eggsAcer is not to be trusted

Pros: The monitor worked great while it worked.

Cons: This nearly $700 dollar monitor stopped working very quickly and as a result i was forced to deal with acer repair services. I paid to have my non working monitor shipped to them (nearly 100dollars) then they simply shipped it right back to me with a slip of paper stating that they tested it...
I quickly called back and the technician even admitted that they had not repaired it on the first try.
acer paid to ship it back for repairs a second time.. AND SENT IT BACK UNREPAIRED A SECOND TIME..

Because of acers ABYSMAL customer service I am out nearly 700 bucks.

I WILL NEVER BUY ACER AGAIN..

Other Thoughts: I honestly feel like i was robbed. I paid seven hundred dollars for a monitor that worked for under a year. then once i had to deal with acer support i felt like i was dealing with mobsters...

i will never support another acer product for as long as i live.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent 1080p 144hz display

Pros: -High Refresh Rate is AMAZING, can never go back
-Colors are wonderful and accurate
-G-Sync is the best thing since sliced bread

Cons: -Archaic display menu which is hard to navigate and pretty much useless
-No built in speakers which isn't that big of a deal

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a 1080p gaming monitor this thing is a godsend, I'm not quite ready to make the move yet to 1440p and above so this monitor is great for my current needs. Me and a friend have this exact monitor and we have zero problems with it.

If you are used to 60hz displays you will be blown away by how silky smooth this thing is in action. Gsync works on everything, even youtube videos. Wonderful technology. I'm just super glad that a monitor like this exists after years of dealing with VSync problems and low refresh rates on LCD displays.

4 out of 5 eggs144hz GSYNC, Nice, but not perfect

Pros: Great price for it on a flash sale.
144hz is amazing. I've noticed improved K/D in games like Battlefield because of it.
DECENT colors since it's an 8bit TN panel
GSYNC works, however I think it's a bit overrated.
Nice adjust-ability in the stand
If you're an FPS gamer, recommend it!

Cons: I would give it 3.5 if possible. But I rounded up to 4/5.
- LED backlight FLICKER: This is the worst bit about this monitor. In some games with occasional dark scenes or depth of field, I definitely notice the LED's flickering while trying to dim to the requested low light levels. I hope future games don't increase the frequency of this flickering, otherwise I may have to get a different monitor (i.e BenQ).
- The backlight bleed others report is definitely existent in my panel. Top-Left, Bottom-Right, 70% of the bottom bezel - all have noticeable blue backlight bleed when the display is showing dark gameplay/video.
Had some inactive pixels for the first couple weeks; luckily they came back by using a pixel revive program.
- 27" is too large for TN panels - some subtle textures disappear in the top corners when looking at the monitor dead center.
-Typical TN colour shift with slight viewing angle changes

Other Thoughts: Only reason I went with this monitor is because it was on a flash sale for $399...otherwise it's overpriced in my opinion. This monitor will likely end up being the budget GSYNC monitor once more IPS GSYNC/FreeSync monitors flood the market. This one will drop in price. Overall I decided to keep the monitor because of how improved games like Battlefield are vs. a non 144hz monitor. I do miss the colors of my previous VA panel though!

5 out of 5 eggsMy first 144HZ monitor

Pros: Quality is flawless. No weird discolors or dead pixels. Everything is very nice. Though took a little bit of messing with the display settings. Couldn't be happier

Cons: First 144HZ monitor I've bought, so with a price tag as big as that, it's definitely something to be weary of.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm satisfied. I got this while it was on a slight sale also, so I'm very content with what I've gotten. I'm sure there are other monitors that I could've gotten that's better, but I'm perfectly fine with this one.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome High-End Monitor at a great price

Pros: This is an awesome monitor for those who want a good monitor that has all the bells and whistles but don't want to completely drain their wallet to get one. The Acer XB270H provides an awesome balance between overkill and value. The G-Sync and 144hz refresh rate are huge selling points for this monitor and the 27" is awesome if you want more desktop space. I also noticed that there is much much less motion blur in games which can give you a much better experience in high-motion games.

Cons: - The base of the unit is glossy plastic which can attract dust easily.
- Requires a Nvidia Graphics card to use G-Sync. Shouldn't be a problem for the Nvidians out there :)
- No LED indicator to indicate whether G-Sync is working or not. This would've been nice to see but is not a necessity.
- The included Displayport Cable is not long enough to cable manage. I had to purchase a longer one for it to reach the back of my PC.

Other Thoughts: I really like this monitor so far and I am very very happy with it. It is awesome in games especially for the price.

10/10 would buy again.
