4 out of 5 eggsVery good LCD monitor

Pros: Great packaging, fast response time, widescreen, NO dead/stuck pixels, hdmi/dvi/vga inputs, 2 cables dvi/vga, good color/brightness, egg-cellent price [250 bucks with rebate :0].
Outstanding bang for the buck!

Cons: Too many osd buttons and not user friendly, slight backlight bleeding, no height adjustment, no RGB OSD setting (just movie, photo, etc...yuk), haven't found a game that runs a smooth 1680x1050 yet (with all settings maxed). Very, very slight hum from the rear. None are deal breakers.

Other Thoughts: I was impressed with the packaging right from the start.
With some minor tweaking it had a great picture. There are no dead or stuck pixels. There is some backlight bleeding in the dark scenes with the default settings. (minor tweaking)
This thing sure rocks in gaming. No noticeble lag, ghosting or tearing. Widescreen is a nice feature as well. No more black borders with the right dvd software. I sure can see so much more in games that support widescreen. Text is very clear. Fast shipping by the Egg. Give it 4.5 eggs...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor at good price!

Pros: Wow. Just wow. Just got this monitor today, and I LOVE it. Arrived with NO dead pixels. Hookup was easy, DVI cable was quality.
The buttons are very well placed for switching inputs and changing settings. The monitor is HUGE, especially coming from a 17" non-widescreen.
PS3 at 1080p VIA HDMI looks GREAT.

Cons: The monitor was really bright. Also, there is blacklight bleed, but you only notice if you are staring straight at it. For this, I would give it a little less than a 5.

Other Thoughts: Great monitor at a great price, especially with the mail in rebate. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap HD source for their gaming system and computer at the same time!
I was skeptical about buying this, as I usually go with Samsung (my favorite), but I am skeptical no more! THANKS BENQ AND NEWEGG!!!

5 out of 5 eggsBenQ FP222WH

Pros: Excellent monitor. HDMI is a plus, xbox 360 looks magnificent on it. Finally got my MIR a few days ago when I sent it in mid-october, took a while, but I got it, better than most companies I'd say.

No ghosting whatsoever and very little backlight bleed.

Cons: A mere 1 stuck red pixel in the lower left of the screen that despite all efforts refuses to unstick. generally only noticeable when the screen is dark.

Other Thoughts: I want to clarify something that a previous reviewer said, actually probably WAY back in the archives now, but this monitor will NOT do 1080p. If the option is available in a gaming system or other thing, it is software inside that item that makes it simulate 1080p. But 720p/1080i still looks magnificent.

3 out of 5 eggsGo with the 24" instead

Pros: Decent price. HDMI is a nice feature.

Cons: I was going for the dual monitor setup at home and I already had the Benq 24" FP241W. I LOVE the FP241W. Yes it is a bit more expensive, but it's picture is crystal clear and you have more room to work with (1920x1200 resolution). The 22" I purchased had 1 dead pixel in the lower left quarter of the screen that stands out a lot. Plus the stand doesn't have a height adjustment which is a problem for me since I need my two monitors to sit side by side and the 22" needs to be raised (I don't want to have it sitting on books either). Also, when the screen is completely black, a white light bleeds from the top and bottom of the monitor. Maybe I just got a rotton egg?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor for the price

Pros: No dead pixels, wonderfully detailed and clear screen - this monitor looks excellent whether I'm surfing the web, watching a DVD or gaming. Even has an HDMI connection for a PS3!

Cons: The menu/control buttons location on the side is less than desirable but shouldn't really turn you off this monitor.

Other Thoughts: Great quality for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGood monitor

Pros: no dead pixels and works really great out of the box. Using the cheap dvi cable that came with the monitor but no biggy will be replacing that soon.

Cons: Monitor is very bright when first startup and even trying to turn the brightness at the menu seems not to take much effect. Still a good monitor though.

5 out of 5 eggsBenQ FP222WH LCD Monitor

Pros: Bright, crisp colors, no ghosting, even color and lighting distribution, simple to setup, HDMI input for hi-def movies and gaming. My particular display has no dead pixels or other defects.

Cons: The only thing I can really see as a con for this monitor is the stand. While sturdy enough, the lack of even basic height adjustment and/or tilting adjustments could be an issue for some. It works just fine for my current setup, but some may want more versatility in positioning.

Other Thoughts: This monitor fits my needs perfectly. I'm an animation/illustration major and I wanted to add another monitor to my setup to expand my workspace. I actually find myself using this monitor as my main display more often than not. While the 1920x1200 resolution of my other monitor is great in terms of sheer amounts of space, I think the 1680x1050 res of the BenQ is the perfect balance between design work and web browsing, word processing, etc. You still get lots of screen space without the eye strain.

I also wanted a monitor capable of displaying 1080p for use with my PS3 and this monitor fits the bill perfectly. 2 clicks of one of the side buttons and I can go from using my PC to watching hi-def movies and playing games in 1080p. One thing to keep in mind, there are no speakers built into the monitor, so if you plan on using it with a console, make sure you have another solution for sound.
