5 out of 5 eggsBENQ RL2450HT

Pros: I bought this monitor in May 2012. Out of the box it comes preset to RTS Gaming. Best thing to do is set monitor to Standard and then you can adjust things manually to your taste. For me Contrast 45, Brightness 45, Sharpness 5, Gamma 5 works fine for surfing the web. For Flight Simulation at night I set the gamma to 3 which makes it easier to see in the dark.

Overall I am very pleased with this monitor. Has a very sturdy and well built Stand, The Monitor is well built., Screen Colors and Contrast are good after some manual tweaking.

Cons: I did have a problem that started in December of 2013. The monitor has 4 LEDs that shine up from the bottom. One on left and right and 2 in the middle. Around Christmas the side LEDs would not function so my screen was very dim on the sides.

I was worried about Warranty Service because I have read other reviews back in 2005-2006. where some users had dismal customer service and warranty experiences. I am happy to say their customer service is much Improved now. They replied to my email within 6 hrs and gave me an RMA number. I Shipped it 4 day ground to California. They had it 4 days and then sent me a Replacement back via 4 day ground. Total Turn around time with weekends from the day I sent it in till I got the replacement back was 2 weeks.

That is Excellent Turnaround time since I am on the East Coast. I give them 5 Stars on Warranty and Customer Service as well.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome monitor

Pros: Beautiful colors . Love the adjustable stand, the weight and height as far as a gaming monitor really works well.
No bad pixels. Adjustments are easy to do and learn.
Had to tone it down some.
Used many other monitors before this one over the years. Looked at several others. Will continue to buy these until I have 3 or more...when on sale.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsMEH

Pros: Great stand, good size, has a fast response time, and looked real nice.

Cons: Has no color adjustments and poor contrast and gamma adjustments. Better than average view angles, but color still washes out.

Other Thoughts: Ultimately was defective and had to RMA. Started with a ripple like heat rising off a hot road, then blinking in and out. Tried several cables and another computer and ripples got worse.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Monitor For Best Price

Pros: Good color range
Fast Response Time
details look clear and precise
no smudging in race games or fps

Cons: I have to buy two more now

Other Thoughts: This monitor is the best monitor for the cost. Period, you get exactly what you should be getting for $200 in comparison to perhaps lg's and asus models of the same spec generally cost much more.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the very best response times for gaming.

Pros: I was looking for a monitor with little to no input delay for playing competitive fighting games on. The stuff the community uses is fairly old technology (Asus V236H).

I did my research and stumbled upon the BenQ RL2450HT. I read a German test/review and the response time is actually one of the lowest on a readily available LCD monitor in North America. It features a very robust 24" screen and is LED backlit.

Let me tell you, this monitor did not disappoint. The stand is the best I've ever seen out of all the monitors I've owned. It allows for very flexible customization which includes, height, angle, and orientation. The picture quality is great, although i can't really comment on color reproduction since my main focus was to get a low input delay monitor.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the monitor. I'd buy another two or three if I really needed them. They really are fantastic monitors.

Cons: Not really a con, but just know that there are no speakers. Anyone using this for console gaming must realize that. I simply purchased $25 dollar 2.1 Logitech speakers from New Egg. They're way better than anything you could get on a monitor anyways!

Other Thoughts: The first BenQ product I've purcahsed has become the best monitor I've ever owned. I really mean that.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Suitable For Portrait Mode

Pros: A solid single monitor in landscape mode, but I wanted it for portrait mode.

Cons: As a secondary monitor in portrait mode (the primary reason I ordered it) the viewing angles are two narrow to deliver a desirable picture. I am not certain why this monitor is even capable of rotating to portrait when the panel's angles are so narrow in that orientation.

Other Thoughts: This could be a four star monitor in landscape mode but do not buy it for the sole purpose of a secondary monitor in portrait mode.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent monitor

Pros: No dead pixels, no bleedthrough, LED, very nice vesa compatible stand.

Cons: A bit difficult to setup up the picture the first time, even though you can tell that the designers tried to make it as easy as possible for us. It doesn't come with a dvi cable, why in the world didn't they include one, but included the old kind.

Other Thoughts: I can't tell the difference between the 2gtg on this monitor, or the 5gtg on my old acer. I am a gamer, mostly RPG's and a couple of FPS. Even though this is a decent monitor for what it is meant for, I wouldn't buy it again. I will start saving up for a 120mhz monitor, because of the kind of games I play. I may save up for the 120 version of this monitor. Maybe Fallout won't give me a headache with 120mhz. Oh, lastly, the stand is awesome and is vesa mounted, so I will be able to use it on my next monitor.

NewEgg, is great btw. The monitor, with free shipping got here very fast. The Newegg people are top notch in customer service and probably everything that they will ever try.
