5 out of 5 eggsBest monitor I've ever used

Pros: Color is flawless
Darks are DARK
Whites are WHITE
More ports than your body has room for
Resolution is wonderful
Super easy menu setup and use

Cons: I only bought one. :<

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor more than a year ago and I LOVE everything about it. From the fresh rate to the depth of color it provides, there's nothing I can bash on this thing. I bought an ASUS before this, 28" 2048x1152 resolution, top of the line for it's time and worth the money, or so I thought. I started noticing white bleed like crazy about 2 years into the monitor use and that upset me a bit, I went shopping for a while and came across BenQ, a company I had never heard of before. I figure I give 'em a shot and really when it comes to computer parts, you typically get what you pay for. Honestly, I think this monitor is worth way more than just $550. When I saw what real contrast looked like, I've been hooked on these monitors ever since. I'm big into competition gaming and it definitely took a while to adjust to the darker areas but the immersion is just so worth the adjustment and you can even save your settings on this nifty little magnetic button that just sticks to the base of the monitor. It carries 3 different saved settings, so far I have them set for movies, games and power saving. I'm buying another BenQ for a second monitor and my third will definitely be the XR3501 wide. It looks absolutely amazing and for games like DCS or any kind of racing sim, it's worth every penny (also cheaper than most 34" monitors you'll find ever.).

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: Well made high performing monitor. Great bang for your buck.

Cons: None found yet for price point.

Other Thoughts: I am not going to write out a full review for this monitor, but you will not be disappointed if this is the price point you are looking at spending on a monitor.

4 out of 5 eggs6 month check-in

Pros: * Still solid image

* Monitor stand is great for day-to-day usage, relatively easy to rotate

* The short-cut pad/controller makes it veeery easy to use and change between pre-sets

Cons: * Max K has the same issue I have, difficult to use touch sensitive buttons, half the time they don't respond

* Brightness has to be increased about 10% when monitor is in the rotated 9:16 position.

* Once in a while when I'm tired I notice a certain wavey-ness to the screen... Maybe because I was very tired?

* Had to RMA first one due to TN film separation

Other Thoughts: Adam B here again, with the 6 mo check-in after the RMA.

The OSD touch-sensitive buttons are a bit weird on this monitor. This was not the case on the screen I RMA-ed.
I didn't do RMA 2 as the dongle controller works like a charm and I much prefer that over the touch-sensitive buttons, so I rarely used the touch buttons anyways.

As said, I also saw some wavey-ness to the display. However I do note that this was only when I was very tired, so I'm not entirely sure if it's a physiological thing or if the display has something going in.

Otherwise it's a great monitor and I'm very happy with it. Very sharp, great color, and blazing fast. Still, those issues do knock off an Egg.

4.5 / 5 eggs, avg of two reviews.

4 out of 5 eggscan't detect displayport

Pros: 144 hz refresh rate , it's 3d ready, motion blur

Cons: Colors not that great, as a prior reviewer if you using a display port and power off the monitor it will not detect the display port cable,

Other Thoughts: The display port issue was a big deal for me as I have the habit of powering my monitor off and leaving my PC running.

1 out of 5 eggsdead pixel and can't detect displayport

Pros: none.

Cons: -Dead pixel right out of box.
-Once I turn off the monitor and try to turn it back on, it can'd detect the displayport cable. I have to reset the pc with the power button to get a picture.

Other Thoughts: This is my first Benq monitor, I won't buy another in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Monitor

Pros: Just awesome. I used it to play and also to when i work from home. I can plug my Macbook on it and the quality it's just amazing. Really happy with this item.

Cons: Vision angle. If you change your position while you play this is not your monitor, because the vision angle is the only bad thing about this monitor.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bright image, 144hz, 1ms response time. Decent viewing angles

Cons: Expensive, no g-sync/free-sync, 1080p is starting to get obsolete.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty good. I don't know about $400 good

Pros: Solid hardware
A lot of settings
Easy on the eyes

Cons: Distortion flashes over the bottom half of the screen when changing video mode which really worries me.
The buttons on the side of the panel don't always respond.

Other Thoughts: You will have to play with the settings to get things looking decent. I use sRGB mode and it looks good, but I know it could use more tweaking.

5 out of 5 eggsJust performs everyday perfectly!

Pros: Tuned the colors how I like them just once. I have not had to touch a thing since!

Brilliant vibrant colors while playing Far Cry 4 and all of the other games I have played.

Keeps pace with motion perfectly!

Read the features and specifications to see if it suits your needs. Worth every penny so far, very pleased!

Pixel Pitch 0.311

Cons: 0

Other Thoughts: If you don't own why not?

TN Panel has great color, motion blur that works, along with 1ms response time.
IPS panels cannot keep up with 1ms response times, they are more for the video and graphics editing not gaming. 6ms probably about the best response time for these type monitors which is far to slow for first person shooter games.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor!

Pros: * Great image quality

* Great connectivity - HMDI x2, DP, DVI, VGA

* Great monitor stand

* Thoroughly impressed with the speed

* OSD menu is programmable/changeable, OSD remote is handy

* Flicker-free - no Pulse Width Modulation.

Cons: * 1st time "On" was not intuitive. Your finger has to be over the light/motion sensor to be able to turn monitor on, and there is no mention of this in the manual

* Out of the box it is extremely bright

* Input selection - say HDMI to DVI - is clumsy out of the box

* I've been fighting a reoccurring pixel issue, likely film separation

* Stand is deeper than expected at ~9" / 23cm

Other Thoughts: This is one of the few monitors on the market that combine great connectivity, speed, and no use of PWM.

I guess it is a bit steep on the price, however I am hoping that this monitor will last a good 5 years or more.

I would recommend either perusing the net for an ICC Profile / recommended brightness settings, or getting a spectrophotometer to fine-tune the monitor.
For quick adjustment, Brightness 20 / Contrast 50 is a good starting point.

Gaming experience is awesome, and my PS3 runs wonderfully on it and the games just 'Snap!' on it.

On the note of gaming, I have not used the 3D or 144Hz functionality.

Even though I have pixel problems, I'm going to give a great score to the monitor. Manufacturing errors happen.
I'll only take off Eggs if an RMA monitor comes in with dead/defective pixels.

And final note on programming, there are 5 capacitive buttons on the right edge of the monitor. In the OSD, 3 from top down can be programmed to have different shortcuts, and Input can be assigned to these buttons. This greatly reduces the time needed to switch between Inputs.

Overall it has been a great purchase, and I would highly recommend it.
