3 out of 5 eggsNot Very Sensitive

Pros: Good price.

I bought another GVision previously (another model now discontinued) and THAT one has been used heavily with good results. It's been tough, reliable and functional. So I bought THIS very similar unit expecting similar results.

Generally it's ok, but see Cons.

Cons: Sensitivity is poor. Although it's adequate, it's only barely so. I had to crank up touch sensitivity to the maximum to get a good result. It can still miss a light tap of a finger.

Using its own test utility, I find it tends to lose the contact when dragging a finger unless very firm pressure is maintained. It skips badly when dragging with a light touch. Resizing windows, for example, can be a PITA. This with sensitivity at absolute max.

Other Thoughts: 99.9% of the time this will be used for sales input that uses only finger taps and no dragging or double-taps etc. With time as a critical factor I won't be RMA'ing it, though it was tempting. If it ever becomes any less sensitive we may have a problem.

I've worked with enough of these to know this one is a bit off. I don't know if it's the model design or just this one unit. It's been consistent throughout testing and if it remains so its users will adapt to it just fine, probably without even thinking about it. I THINK (hope) it will do OK in the long term.

Because its sensitivity issues could become a serious problem, and could make the unit unsuitable for some applications, I took off two eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsCompany Backs Up Their Product!

Pros: Price and quality of the monitor.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: After 8 months a section of the monitor started to not read the touch screen input. I contacted Gvision and had a smooth RMA process. They repaired the monitor and fully backed up their product! Would definitely buy again.

5 out of 5 eggsGood ELO alternative

Pros: Good Price and connections, bonus speakers

Cons: First one was DOA, but 2nd one has been running great for 6 months. Base is kind of pain to take off if mounting. Make sure it works before removing and mounting it :)

5 out of 5 eggsNice touchscreen

Pros: Very responsive and substantial construction. Does not feel cheap and I like the precision of the touchscreen.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Used it to make a jukebox for the home and it works great with some of the touch software out there.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Point Of Sale Screen

Pros: USB or Serial for touch screen. DVI or VGA connection. Works just as good as any ELO out there. Cheap price.

Cons: Had to purchase cable extensions for the USB and VGA cables. Not really an issue with the screen itself since my towers were not close at all to the screens.

Other Thoughts: Works great with Restaurant Pro Express.
