Looks Like They've Downgraded
- Pros: Rocked face while it actually worked.
New cheaper version. Cheaper even than the repair and shipping costs after the warranty runs out. Though I would prefer if it just kept on working.
- Cons: Had RMAed after several months because all three inputs stopped responding (See below). Received the monitor back in perfect working order, yet several months later (for a total of 2 years now) it has a new problem with one of the boards.
Downgrade from the original: used to come with HDMI!
- Other Thoughts: Sceptre was kind enough to honor the warranty a few days after the warranty ran out the first time I had to RMA. Yet, with the product itself failing more than once, I cannot give them more than 2 eggs.
Only worth repairing if you already had the parts necessary to complete the job.
Can't really do better for the price...
- Pros: - 1680X1050 resolution
- High refresh rate
- No dead pixles this time :)
- 20.1 for 110$
- Cons: - 1000-1 contrast ratio is low. But for 110$ you really can't do better for the bargain.
- On-board speakers are a joke
- Other Thoughts: This is honestly my second SCEPTRE monitor. There was another 1680X1050 monitor that was 19' for 5$ cheaper on newegg, however I decided to stick with the same model as my current monitor. I negotiated a clause in my contract to have them pay for my new PC, and one of those components was a second monitor for increased multitasking. That, and outside of a dead black pixel, the monitor has been fantastic.
I've been really happy with my scepter monitor, so it was only natural to get a second one, (also it really helps with split screen developing). The only qualm I have is the relatively low contrast ratio, (1000-1), however I dare anyone to find a comparable monitor for this price. I bought my first sceptre 2 years ago for 169.99. I guess I can thank the recession for some things.....

- Pros: good while it lasted.
- Cons: about a year after purchase, It crapped out. I'll never invest in this product or this company again.
