1 out of 5 eggsViewsonic VX2269w,

Pros: 1. Great 3D

2. Fantastic sharpness

3. Little to no ghosting in games

Cons: 1. Monitor arrived with a green screen glitch causing the product to develop a green film over it's screen during gameplay or at random intervals

1b. Got monitor replaced. Same issue with white screen/film glitch. This effects my view of Viewsonic product quality.

2. Button design is poor, unlabeled even on the front.

3. Plug design is poor, difficult to find without ducking behind the thing.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend Viewsonic products to anyone after this. The product itself, while having great potential, is offset by the treatment the manufacturer gave the product in giving it to me. While not everyone may find the same problems i did, i won't be looking to buy any monitors from viewsonic anytime soon and i recommend that others do the same.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheapest 3D monitor that I found. So far it's been great. I'm using the Nvidia 3D 2 glasses, so things look brighter than version 1.

Cons: Speaker sound quality is lacking.

4 out of 5 eggs3d for those on a budget.

Pros: - The 120hz refresh rate looks great in 2d!
- The brightness is solid considering it's not an LED-LCD.
- No dead pixels, everything looks clear and crisp.
- I haven't seen any ghosting or blurs (aside from one issue which was resolved (see cons).

Cons: - 3d is a bit dark but not unexpectedly so, if you can afford choosing an LED 3D monitor I'd recommend it.
- Had some minor problems running at anything over 60hz. After troubleshooting for hours with nvidia and viewsonic drivers, I found a solution. If you find yourself having the screen-door effect like I was having (very pixelated, vertical black lines, etc) unplug the power cord and plug it back in - simply turning it on and off isn't enough. But once done, it seems to work flawlessly.

Other Thoughts: I'm very pleased with the jump to 3d. This monitor paired with nvidia's 3d vision set gets the job done.

I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone who is thinking about getting into 3d but has a tight budget.

I wouldn't recommend this monitor to those who can afford to get a more impressive LED 3d display.

5 out of 5 eggsmakes all the difference

Pros: -true 120hz is a pleasure to look at when you aren't 3dvision'ing
-is very bright and clear
-not as expensive as others and still wins out with quality
-3dvison is pretty darn cool.

Cons: -well the stand is a tad wobbly, as others have stated, but I don't really care. My desk isn't that sturdy, but then again i'm not knocking it around while using my computer....

Other Thoughts: when you don't want 3d, the smooth 120hz rocks (especially when dealing with typical computer tasks and movies and stuff like that.

when you do use the 3d, it works perfect there as well. couldn't be happier! still sad my old monitor died, though, but this 120hz makes me forget old-whats-it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat No Problems

Pros: It's bright and yet easy on the eyes! I don't have any of the problems listed by other reviewers. Cheapest 3D ready monitor out there! I am very pleased at the quality and construction. I recommend this to any budget gamer trying to get 3D ready!

Cons: Not really a con in my book, but I'll list it anyway for the nit-pickers. I did have to adjust the settings a little to get my desired color balance. I was a little green for my taste, but I was probably just used to my previous monitor.

Other Thoughts: Buy it, unless you've just got to have a bigger screen and/or you have dough to blow on a more expensive 3D ready monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat overall monitor

Pros: I have been gaming competitively for many years from counter strike 1.3 and on and many other games, so I know the importance of 120hz, and this monitor doesn't disappoint. Got it for 186$ 2 day shipped, so with that price I cant possibly complain. Colors are good and screen is bright and very detailed and I could see a difference as soon as I hooked it up in every game. If you are a gamer and are looking into a monitor, look no further.

Cons: Not many to list here, just the stand isn't as strong as I would like, a little wobbly, but a very minor problem. 1680x1050 is maximum resolution, but again, a lot of the times a higher res isnt needed, and with the 120 hz it is more than satisfying.

Other Thoughts: Overall great monitor for the price and I am very happy with the quality, and like usual neweggs customer service is next to none.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat 3D Monitor; I love it.

Pros: I purchased an open box model to test the waters & I have to say.. I am very impressed and overall very pleased with the purchase..

The VX2268WM's color depth, picture detail, and vibrancy is outstanding for the price. The 120hz refresh rate, whether being used with 2D or 3D applications, reduces eye strain & fatigue big-time. After only a week I don't think I can ever go back to using a standard 60hz LCD.

Output for 3D gaming while paired with an NVidia 3D vision kit & GTX 560 is rewarding (see other for system specs).

Initially I was concerned that the step down from full 1920x1080 to 1650x1050 would be a big step back; however, now when I look this monitor sitting next to my A**s VH242H 23.6" I can't believe I was ever happy with the VH (in fairness the VH242H is still a good LCD solution). To compare, even with a 1.5" smaller panel & lower resolution. Hands down the VX2268WM wins.

I will certainly be purchasing another & perhaps a third for a 3D Vision Surround setup.

Cons: Some have complained about the stand; however, I have found that once properly assembled it works just fine.

While in use with a GTX 560 graphics card the Nvidia control panel will falsely report that 120hz is available for use when using a single link DVI-D cable connection from graphic card to the monitor. Applying the change to 120hz with a single link DVI-D cable will result in visual corruption..

While connected properly with a dual-link DVI-D cable 120hz works 100%

2 out of 5 eggsProbably good if it worked as intended

Pros: Bright (which helps with LCD shutter glasses - the main reason for buying this IMHO), Price, Good picture, Newegg's customer service is superb.

Cons: Monitor stand as said before is weak, Only supports 120hz at native resolution (this isn't mentioned). Didn't work at 120hz at all (see below), Bad driver disc in box, Bad support (see below)

Other Thoughts: I got this monitor to use with Nvidia wired 3d Glasses. The monitor works at 60 hz just fine. However at 120hz it looks like every other line is black. (in "3D" mode OR at desktop no difference) I tried this on two different computers one the exact specifications as on box, another much higher end. Both same problem. Rather than return to Newegg I decided to call Viewsonic to try and get it warrantied. The 1st guy I spoke with was clueless. He elevated it. I was supposed to have a call back within 48 hours. It never came. I called again and spoke with a more competent person who let it slip that he's seen this problem "commonly" and suggested unplugging the monitor while running at 120hz and plugging back it. It didn't help. I called back again and the next person told me to wait another 24 hours. I waited 6 days no callback. Called again today and was told they haven't done anything and to wait "until". Newegg is taking it back no problems. Why i only shop here.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for gaming

Pros: Crisp. Colors were fine (to be honest, color intensity doesn't matter to me). Comes with Dual Link cable. No dead pixels. Stand was acceptable, but I don't expect it to do more than hold the monitor.

Cons: Ghosting. Coming from a CRT to this was almost unbearable.

Other Thoughts: I play fps games that require very precise aiming. I'm used to a CRT and vysnc all my games so that looking around is very smooth. Thinking that a 120hz LCD monitor could match the performance of a crt was a mistake. Just walking around in game, ghosting was very noticeable, but once you start bhopping, fogetaboutit. I initially setup the monitor at max res with 120hz. Ghosting was very bad. There is response time compensation software built in, but it is only available at 60hz. Ghosting was worse at 60hz with advanced compensation on. This makes a good budget monitor but don't expect anything special.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Clean with great clarity. Best monitor I have seen. Much clearer and brighter than my Optiquest (value Viewsonic monitor).

Cons: Only thing I could have wanted was an HMDI input.
