5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly excellent

Pros: Excellent display quality, especially for such a low price. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Cons: Can't really adjust the height or tilt of the screen, which wasn't a problem for me at all -- I found the "default" viewing angle perfectly comfortable -- but I can see it being a minus for some. (No stars/eggs deducted since I had no problem with it.)

Other Thoughts: This is seriously worth your consideration if you're looking for a widescreen display. I'm happy as a clam with mine, and am pleased I discovered this amazing find for a display.

4 out of 5 eggsGood as a Monitor....

Pros: Nothing special.

Cons: Very poor sound quality from the built-in speakers that have pretty much no bass to them at all, the buttons on the front are rather small for what shape was chosen (circles), the stand's tilt mechanism doesn't allow for tilting the screen downward (not good if you sit low).

Other Thoughts: Despite the Cons, for the price, it is still a very good widescreen monitor and worth thinking about if planning a purchase. If you get this monitor, you shouldn't really plan on using the built-in speakers unless your despirate.

4 out of 5 eggsMonitor made by AOC/Envision

Pros: Good price from store. Currently $xxx.xx off their selling price.
Worth the money. Very nice picture using XFX 8600GT video card.

Cons: Minor issue for me. As most large screen lcds' seem to have some backlight bleed thru. Mine is on right side. Once again only noticeable with dark images.

Other Thoughts: Researched my purchase for quite a while, comparing price and features for dollar spent. I think this is as good a unit as any in this price point. Happy with purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor for a budget

Pros: - very inexpensive
- comes with DVI-cable
- easy to use display adjustments
- moderate tilt
- ginormous screen size
- 5 ms response time
- 1 year manufacturer warranty

Cons: - noticeable backlight bleed on a black screen (although it sounds like just about every LCD has this problem, and to be honest I'll take this minor issue for the price and size of the screen).
- The monitor is either very bright or the refresh rate (60hz) which shouldn't matter on a DVI connection seems strange. I've had a CRT for years at 100 hrz, and I always thought an LCD would be better on my eyes like they have at work and at the store, but this one seems a little different. I mostly notice this on a white screen though, so I think it's just because of how bright it is, which can always be turned down)

Other Thoughts: Really great for the price. I waited until Sunday and picked up the local newspaper to see what stores would have deals on 22" screens. Low and behold, I found this guy at Office Max on a special sale for $230 including all of it's features and adapters. For that price this thing rocks. Games look great, Graphic Design work is fun to use again, and having the ability to have a lot of windows open is very good as well. Well worth the purchase (assuming it doesn't konk out in a month).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat display

Pros: great price, picture looks good. zero dead pixels. not much of a gamer, but movies display well.

Cons: make sure your vid card can run 1680x1050.

Other Thoughts: for some reason my geforce 5200fx wouldn't run this card at 1680x1050 using DVI. swithched to the d-sub and got 1680x1050 no prob. oh well, fault of my vid card. I'll be building a new machine shortly anyways. :0

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Crisp clear display, No dead pixels, Colors are true, Great value

Cons: Speakers are very low quality, Baisic stand

Other Thoughts: After some extensive research I discovered that this unit is identical to the Envision G22LWK. Both are made by TPV which is one of the largest PC monitor manufacturers in the world. If you check the reviews for the Envision G22LWK it is rated at 4.8 out of 5 and this AOC version gets that same rating from me. What a great value for a 22” widescreen LCD. The only things lacking are the speakers which I didn't intend to use anyway ( I bought a monitor not a stereo) and some high end features that have nothing to do with display quality. After a few quick adjustments the picture looks as good as any TN display I've seen. As 22” widescreens go this unit is the best value around. I wish I’d bought two.

PS: An LCD display consists of a fixed raster, it cannot change resolution to match the signal being displayed as a CRT monitor can, meaning that optimal display quality can be reached only when the signal input matches the native resolution. Do your homework before you make a purchase. I

4 out of 5 eggsThis was my fault... 16:9 runs high DPI only.

Pros: Good price... all other features standard. I have worked with AOC for years and their RMA process is as good if not the best in the industry.. I come from the school that says the only thing really different about two monitors is their specs. Other than that, brand loyaly is relative. AOC will break just like SONY, the question is how much of your time and money will it take to fix it! AOC is great for this...

Cons: The 16:9 means the only, and this was my fault, the only resolution that wont blow out your fonts is max resolution at 1600 x 900. Widescreen is great at widescreen dvd but after that if you have someone whom is sensitive to low DPI skip this and any widscreen imho.

Other Thoughts: The larger the monitor then the more likely for a widescreen proportion. If your mama is gonna use one of these and she is in her 70's then she will be unable to read the font size... this may be so obvious to some here (and gamers like me are saying "duh") but it was frustrating to find a LCD that only works at max resolution.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: Excellent feature set and performance for the money.

Cons: First one arrived damaged.

Other Thoughts: 16.9 inches refers to the monitor's total height from the base to the top of the monitor's screen bezel (frame), and has nothing to do with the viewable screen size, which is 22" when measured diagonally. My monitor measures exactly 16.9 inches from top to bottom, so I have no idea what the other reviewer is talking about. This monitor gives you a lot of bang for the buck, it has good performance with a bright, clear image and easy to use onscreen menu interface, and the DVI input assures the best quality image if your graphics card has DVI output capability. Overall I'm very pleased with the unit, although the first one sent to me arrived damaged. A big thank you to Newegg's customer service dept., I had an RMA in less than 24 hrs, sent the damaged unit back for a complete refund, and a new monitor arrived on my doorstep in about 4 to 5 days time, and they even paid the shipping cost to return the damaged unit. Newegg service rocks!

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: Buyers beware! The size of this monitor is not what is declared in the specifications. The actual Height is 14.3" vs. the 16.9 claimed in the item description. It is lower than my other 19" monitor.
