Pros: - No dead or stuck pixels or other problems after 1+ years of use
- Lots of inputs
- 1920x1200 IPS display
- Plenty of fine tuning options via OSD display
- Can be oriented and adjusted pretty much however you like

Cons: - Very pricey especially now that they have been discontinued
- Bulky/heavy
- Cable management is pretty much unusable

Other Thoughts: More than 1 year after the purchase and I'm still happy camper. I only had to part with it to upgrade to the newer ZR2440w. Was hard to part with it after so much time but it didn't leave the household (wife uses it)

Pros: I spent a great deal of time researching before picking this monitor as it was the best thing that could be gotten for ~500 dollars, the next step up at the time was easily 1200 bucks.

This monitor has both fast response time and little input lag for a IPS monitor.
The colors are fantastic once you learn how to use color correction as this is a wide gamut monitor. Easily beats every screen I have seen in person to date other than some nifty 1200-2000 dollar screens and even then it is so close that the added cost doesn't make them worth it for my purposes.

The stand is FANTASTIC, and totally worth an extra 100 bucks IMO. The input options are fantastic as well, I have several pieces of equipment hooked up to my primary LP2475W (bought two).

I primarily use it for gaming and my father has used them extensively for photo editing. We are both quite positive these are some of the best monitors money can buy.

Cons: I know I said it is fast for an IPS, but coming from a high end CRT there is a noticeable lag at first. But I noticed that with any TFT panel, now over a year later I would be hard pressed to notice the lag between this and a fast 2ms TN type panel. Granted my CRT arguably still feels a tiny bit quicker.

The only other thing I could complain about is the IPS white glow effect. Which is when viewing from wide angles the screen gets a "white glow" to it which appears like back light bleeding. This is normal for IPS monitors and only the super high end IPS displays have polarizing filters that eliminate it (they look amazing) but you also pay a huge premium to get that filter.

TLDR; this monitor doesn't have any issues worth complaining about. Hands down the best monitor I have seen to date for the money.

Other Thoughts: The only thing that would make this better is a polarizing filter and RGB LED backlighting (aka the HP dreamcolor series 2k+ price tag).

Pros: I have had this monitor for over three years and it is an amazing monitor. I believe it is the best HIPS 24" monitor available unless you go to an NEC at more than twice the cost. This monitor has been rated higher than the vaunted Dell U2510 by professional reviewers. It is just that good.

It is a durable monitor and has held up well. I have never had a problem with it - not a single one. Once you adjust it, it almost competes with Samsung HDTVs in picture quality (which is in itself amazing because it does not have a video processing chip)- I watch TV on the 2475.

Make sure that you use it with a high end GPU or you won't see what it can do. I had an ATI 5470 and the picture quality suffered. I built a new computer with ATI 6950 and what a difference. It is unbelievable. You must have a quality video card in order to get the full benefit of this monitor - a cheap one will disappoint you.

Cons: I can't think of any cons. I thought that by now this monitor would not be cutting edge, but it is still one of the best monitors available. LED and 3D monitors just don't have the same quality. Possibly a 120HtZ LED monitor will come around.

Oh there is one small con. The panel has a slight glow when it is all black and in dark scenes. This is because of the construction of all HIPS monitors and is not limited to the 2475. It really is not all that noticeable but the black level is not as good a high-end HDTV. NEC is supposed to have solved this issue, but again the competing monitor costs more than twice as much.

NOTE- this is NOT back-light bleed. This monitor has zero back-light bleed. This is a faint glow over all of the screen. It also has great black and grey levels - some of the best.

Other Thoughts: To sum up. this monitor gives monitor that cost more than twice as much a run for their money. It is an exceptional monitor.

not really a con but it is very bright, i usually have the brightness around 18-20% and its still too bright for total dark viewing

Other Thoughts: i purchased this monitor late 2008 right after release and it ran solid for a good 18 months mainly being used for video and photo editing. one day i was editing went to make food during a render and came back to the monitor just off and unresponsive. called up HP and had a replacement delivered by hand four days (there was a weekend in there) later. the replacement which was brand new and removed from box in front of me has now been running for over a year. i honestly could not be happier with the product or the customer service. and again as a videographer and photo enthusiast the broader color gamut is a godsend.

Pros: Awesome screen with great reproduction. Much better than my Dell 2407WFP-HC monitor.

Easy to use controls for PIP, etc.

Cons: none

Pros: Color rendition is excellent. Brightness is ridiculous (but can be toned down to a good level). Build quality and attention to detail are very good. Having a full 1200 pixel height is nice compared to most of the TV-spec panels out there for cheaper. Color adjustment controls built-in are quite good, and allow for very good color matching. Colors don't shift (although brightness goes down) when viewing off-angle. Stand is stable and easily adjustable through a large range of motion. Matte surface doesn't reflect ambient light like a gloss surface would.

Cons: Very expensive for what is ultimately a not-huge improvement over panels that cost 1/3 as much. No CF/SD card reader. USB hub ports are fiddly to reach without actually peering around the bezel. The stand is enormously deep -- good place to stick the laptop (a 15" MacBook Pro), but pretty annoying if I were using a desktop computer.

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor for graphics and photography use, and am generally very pleased with it. I was surprised to find that the 2000-era Apple Cinema Display I upgraded from (which, granted, was a very fine, $2000-ish panel in its day) offered very similar quality, image-wise. This monitor didn't show any real jump in quality, beyond being a bit better at viewing off-angle.

Pros: I had to take a minute to praise the HP tech support. I purchased this monitor in September of 2010 and it recently went out on me and quit working. I called the HP Customer support number provided on the NewEgg site and on day two a new monitor was delivered to me. Granted, the monitor should not have gone bad so soon, but for the company to provide such excellent support and stand behind their product will keep me coming back for more and recommending them to everyone. The quality of the monitor is awesome and I am happy I made the purchase. As far as I am concerned if a company will stand behind their product and provide such quick service you can't go wrong doing business with them...

Other Thoughts: I use this monitor on a dedicated video editing system and am very happy with it.

This is my third and I sincerely hope last review on this issue.

My last phone call to HP's main Tech Support and my having indicated that I was following up with on-going reviews seems to have paid off.

The local on the road tech support (this time) delivered a new monitor instead of someone's previous accident.

I can only hope that this new monitor will stand the test of time.

It must be stated that on both ends of the HP support network-I received outstanding service and a great deal of courtesy from all of their employees. Hats off to them.

Pros: I bought it mostly because it's a x1200 vertical, not 1080. And because it's IPS so there is no negative hologram when I move my head around. And last of all the portrait mode feature of the stand (which is very sensitive to the angle problem with non-IPS monitors. Terrific in these ways!

Cons: I would have bought another one and given 5 eggs if it weren't for the heat. The monitor is hotter than my other ones. It feels like I'm sitting in front of a campfire or my fireplace. It's too bad. It's a great monitor in many ways, but the heat keeps it from being perfect. You might not notice it if you have only one monitor, but I have four, and they all add up to a campfire. I used a passive IR thermometer to measure it. At the top, the 3 TNs are 115 degrees, this HP is 125. It doesn't sound like much, but I notice it.

Other Thoughts: Terrific monitor in all ways but the extra heat.

Pros: I've used this monitor for almost 2 years. It has over 5200 backlight hours on it. It calibrates very well, and has been a joy to use ...

Cons: up until a few weeks ago, when I noticed the same meandering, vertical blobs that the last few posts have mentioned. I'm getting a replacement monitor today, but it is very disturbing to learn that I'm not the only one who has experienced this. I can only hope that their newer (?) ones have solved this issue.

Other Thoughts: Great tech support so far. Less than a week from when I contacted HP until I'm getting a replacement monitor today. Tech support has been efficient, polite, and prompt. I just hope the replacement is a decent one.

A few weeks ago, I'd have happily rated this as 5 eggs.
