4 out of 5 eggsHYUNDAI L90D+ Silver 19" 8ms LCD Monitor

Pros: Monitor still works to this day! Bright and clear display (for it's time). My kid threw something at it so it has a screen gouge and a dead pixel now. :(

Cons: The monitor has a very faint brownish tinge on the lower right hand side. It's barely noticeable. Don't know what that's from but I've been waiting for it to get worse - yes I've tried cleaning the screen. I can also hear popping noises coming from it occasionally but the monitor has yet to cr*p out even though I've been expecting it. This has been going on for several years now.

Other Thoughts: I paid over $380 for this thing! Now you can get better than the same thing for under $100 easily.

5 out of 5 eggsEnd of Life Review.

Pros: I figured the best review you can give an item is one after using it for a looong time. I've had this monitor since march 2005. It's been a work horse, and seen thousands of hours of use. Backlight has only dimmed a little, and the screen now has a slightly yellowish hue, but thats only to be expected with aging plastic. Would easily make this purchase again.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Replacing it only because I want an upgraded resolution. Will continue using the monitor just not as the primary anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsStill chugin'

Pros: Rotates
Decent VESA stand
VGA input almost as good as the DVI
Pretty good refresh

Cons: Don't see a way to set color temperature for DVI input
DVI image a little cool

Other Thoughts: I received this about March 1, 2005 and it's served as a second monitor in a dual display system. I have used it only rarely, so the fact that it's lived for 7+ years is not impressive. It has precious few hours on it. I have swapped out the main monitor (a Planar PX191 19" LCD) with a new 23" LED/LCD 16x9, and this Hyundai will remain a 2nd monitor using DVI (the video card has 2 DVI outputs). Just today I hooked up the VGA to a laptop that is my network server machine. I'm quite pleased with the quality using the VGA input, it puts the Planar's completely to shame. Only problem is that the new 23" display is warmer than the Hyundai's, so in dual display service it's relatively cool color temperature contrasts with the main display's. In that capacity it's using the DVI input and there's evidently no color adjustments when using that input.

5 out of 5 eggsDied after 6.5 years

Pros: Great monitor while it worked, no issues what so ever. Nice picture and no complaints.

Cons: Non standardized power cord. Poor sound quality (but most flatpanel monitors are that way due to small speaker size).

Other Thoughts: Mine started acting up this morning. Was playing a game, screen went black and power light blinking between yellow and blue.

It lasted over 6 years so no complaints other than now I have to replace it.

Glad there are 2 computers in the house and I could borrow another monitor, 5:30 am nothing is open yet on a Sunday except for Wmart and all they have in stock is a 17 inch el-cheapo brand.

Doubt I will order from newegg as I need a new one asap so I can put this monitor back on other tower after my mom gets up so will be running to stores today looking.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted

Pros: I bought two of these monitors in 2006. My lady friend bought two for herself as well. All four died around the 2.5 year mark. They worked well up until that point. Now they are just scrap. Although, the display and use was nice, I expected more life for such an investment.

Cons: Failed model.

5 out of 5 eggsVenerable

Pros: Good contrast. Little to no ghosting (not that I've noticed anyway). DVI connector means you're getting a clean, clear graphics signal. Rotates in case you want to use it to view long documents and/or web pages (preferably only as a secondary monitor). Sturdy. Capable of decent color reproduction if calibrated (using a Pantone Huey or one of those Spyder things).

Cons: It's not widescreen, but you can hardly fault it for that being that it's about 6 years old. The bottom buttons are kind of a stupid design decision, but most of the time you're only hitting "power" if at all. Speakers are nothing to write home about, but monitor speakers hardly ever are. The first unit I got had dead lines of pixels show up within about a week, but I RMA'd it for the perfect version I have now.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this monitor since around 2005. It's followed me to college, done duty as a main monitor on a PC and as a secondary to a Macbook Pro, and is now back as the primary on a new PC. With monitor prices what they are these days, I'm not sure why I haven't already replaced it with a widescreen, but the darn thing just won't die. I'm reluctant to put the poor guy to rest, since there's never been anything wrong with it, not even a single dead pixel. We're a throw-away society, but I'm trying to fight it!

2 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor for a year...

Pros: Great monitor for a year. No ghosting...great gaming/general use monitor.

Cons: After about a year, it began having stuttering and flashing pixels all over. The image was ruined. It was not the graphics card...the monitor was tested on three different systems with the same problem.

Other Thoughts: I just read the reviewer below, and thought I should post as I ran into the same problem just to warn people.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat deal

Pros: #1. Bright
#2. Large screen
#3. DVI
#4. great for games

Cons: The buttons. Why put them under the display and make them so hard to use?

Other Thoughts: I paid over $xxx when I got this monitor 2 years ago so the current price is a deal. I would like another for a dual monitor setup.

2 out of 5 eggsEhh

Pros: Great picture and great gaming monitor for the first year.

Cons: have owned for close to two years and only been used for maybe a year and has flickering pixels everywhere it's almost unbareable. if trying to read anything on screen forget it. the speakers might as well not be there they never did work. I started having issues with this monitor about 4 months ago.

Other Thoughts: To me when first using this monitor it was awesome i would have told anyone to purchase it for the price i paid after a years use however i would never in a million years reccommend this to anyone unless you need a temporary replacement. I guess they know what they're doing when they give you a 1 year warranty on a two year product. i wasted my money please don't you waste yours.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor!

Pros: No ghosting.
No dead pixels.

Built-in speakers are good for most people (I don't imagine they would be great for games).

Perfect picture quality in 1280x1024 (native res) and 1024x768.

I didn't have to fiddle with any settings to get the picture to fit the screen correctly using the DVI connector (I love it!).

Seems a good bit cheaper than a lot of the other LCD monitors I looked at.

Cons: Included ImageTune software on CD was pointless since I'm using the DVI connector.

Installing the driver/profile from the CD should be automated: Go into the L90DP folder, right-click the INF file, click install, I don't think it needs to be done but it feels nice knowing it's installed correctly.

It may just be an LCD thing but the screen gets a little brighter towards the bottom of the screen, just enough for me to notice so it doesn't bother me at all, it may be how I have it positioned anyway.

Other Thoughts: This is my first LCD monitor and I'll never go back.

Everything was readable after a clean Win XP install but I enabled ClearType font smoothing, it made text look...better?

I wasted over $20 on a DVI cable because a previous poster said it didn't include one, the monitor DID include the DVI cable, Audio cable, and CD, slightly annoying but I don't care since this monitor is just so awesome coming from my old CRT.
