5 out of 5 eggsHyundai = Hitachi

Pros: very sharp, bright, accurate color matching, no backlight leakage.

Cons: one stuck pixel that cannot be massaged out or fixed by any tool. 60hz @ 1680x1050 makes 5ms a stretch. Still ok in games though.

Other Thoughts: XP and Vista both detect and install it as a Hitachi model with similar model identifier.

Unbelievable amount of real estate for cost.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Monitor

Pros: Extremely bright and excellent color scope, NO dead pixels (which is more than I can say for my Sceptre monitor), and really quite good speakers. I am VERY impressed with how 1680x1050 looks on here. Extremely pleased with this monitor, it also came with a DVI cable which is better than most as well.

Cons: Navigation through the menus on the display are quirky. No driver support, so have to manually tweak your color schemes.

Other Thoughts: Use the shielded audio cables that come with it. I tried some unshielded audio cables and got a feedback. Very good monitor, especially for the price.

1 out of 5 eggsBlack level stinks

Pros: Large screen for 1680x1050, makes 20" of same seem small as far as text goes.

Cons: Black level is the worst of any I've seen, except it's close to the cheapo Hans I've got doing MCE duty (seldom used). The top and bottom bleed light obviously, and the rest is rather bright. You won't get black, not even close. The brightness/contrast controls (digital connect) do hardly anything AT ALL, and the bleed backlight level never changes brightness.

Other Thoughts: I got this because I had a Hyundai L90D+, which was/is an excellent LCD. This N22W-D (has one digital and two analog ins) is a very poor monitor, but for a quarter-thou @ 22", you get what you pay for. It's not as bad as the Hans. I've got a pair of BenQs, a 91G and a 202W, and those are better except for size, and the 202W especially so.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than many

Pros: NO DEAD PIXELS. Easy to adjust. Amazing color! Simple refined good looks. Worked on DVI on first start up without drivers.

Cons: Some light bleed at the top and the bottom of the frame. Inconsistent depth of field as angle of vertical view changes.

Other Thoughts: Looked at many monitors and online for about 6 months prior to purchasing the N220W, and I am glad I waited. What a bargain! Perfect picture and frame rate with my Sapphire X1650 512mb card across DVI.

3 out of 5 eggs1 stuck pixel, otherwise, good monitor

Pros: Great looking monitor. Easy to hook up and the picture quality is excellent.

Cons: No dead pixels, but one "stuck" pixel almost in the middle, right in line of sight. It's stuck on green, and calls attention to itself constantly.

Other Thoughts: Using a combination of UDPixel, JScreenFix and "massaging" the stuck pixel (no doubt voiding the warranty, but can't return the monitor for just one non-functioning pixel, and can't use the monitor with one in the middle of the screen), it is getting better, and most of the time the stuck pixel is working now. Still have to "massage" it from time to time to get it to wake up and blend in with its brothers.

5 out of 5 eggsSize Does Matter!!!!

Pros: This ia a great monitor. What a difference between a 19" and a 22"
No dead pixels, Brilliant display, Perfect color tone right out of the box. This is a great buy. The monitor
has a complete easy to use on screen menu and is really sturdy on it's stand. No backlight bleed as yet and at native resolution it is like HDTV. Glad i pulled the trigger on this one!!

Cons: Poor instruction manual.Monitor identifies as a "Hitachi" in hardware programs?

Other Thoughts: For the price this is a good buy. The perfect pixels, high native res. and the GREAT NEWEGG DELIVERY policies are all a plus.

3 out of 5 eggs1 dead pixel otherwise... ugh annoying dead pixel!

Pros: Sturdy stand, good colors, no ghosting, outstanding first screen IMO.

Cons: 1 dead pixel right in the middle of the screen noticeable in just about any color. Terribly annoying... Stand almost too sturdy, difficult to adjust at first. Check out the pic of the DVI plug, the top portion where there's blobs of silver? Yeap, that's actual solder... apparently they don't bother making clean solder joints at hyundai.

Other Thoughts: Bought Hyundai because it's a "name brand," cheap for 22" widescreen, aside from the single dead pixel, I highly recommend this product.
