4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Big! It's awe inspiring once you get it set up on your desk! The picture is nice and crisp and mine arrived with zero dead pixels. Response time is great and there is no ghosting at all while gaming.

Cons: When you start up a game, if the resolution isn't the same as the desktops, the monitor tells you what input is selected via a pop up window. This only lasts about a second, but it's slightly annoying none-the-less. Some of the menu options don't work, not sure why they are even present.

Other Thoughts: As others have said, the colors may not be precise and you might have to play with the settings a bit, but this is not much of a con at this price point. This is great for gaming, surfing and watching videos. You really cannot beat this monitor for the money. I was a bit worried when I ordered it, but it panned out quite nicely and I am very happy with my purchase. Went from a 20" wide screen to this 24" wide screen and the extra real-estate is great.

4 out of 5 eggsBig Black and Beautiful

Pros: What can I say? It works like it should, it plays games with no input lag, and no ghosting. It is big as all hell. I will be testing 1080p tonight. I was watching Transformers in 720p and it was beautiful. The controls are simple, the monitor is sturdy and feels and looks well made. The price is great for a gaming PC. No dead pixels.

Cons: Seems like the Dynamic Contrast option doesn't really do anything, at leat in the short time I have played with it.

Other Thoughts: For this price, why the hell not. I have never heard of DCLCD before, and got scared when I saw the monitor was 'deactivated' here on Newegg. I called technical support using the number from DCLCD's website and it was answered by Sceptre techs. Which makes me feel much better. Oh and the monitor isn't deactivated anymore. Get one!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Screen!

Pros: Great price when I purchased it and now it's $50 less! So it's even better for you!
Look at the contrast ratio! The higher the better(at least to me)and you don't get much better than 4000:1 at this price!

Cons: I only have one... :(

Other Thoughts: I switched from a 19" CRT the difference is startling! When I use a DVI cable (that I purchased) the screen is fantastic! My eyes don't fatige even after 10+ hours a day! Don't bother with a VGA cable, you won't be using this baby to it's fullest advantage! WOW BC looks spectacular on it! *sigh* *hugs screen*

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME MONITOR!!!

Pros: This monitor looks great! With 2ms response time, there is no ghosting. It looks amazing running at a very high resolutions. It is a GREAT buy for a 24" Widescreen Monitor.

Cons: None that I can think of.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Monitor

Pros: Low Price and High Resolution
No dead pixels. Everything works well with no "Real Issues". I'd buy another one.

Cons: Color- as some of the other reviewers may have stated when viewing the monitor at angles there appears to be some color shift. This is more evident when the monitor is tilted up slightly or it is being viewed from below slightly. Some may have RMAed the monitor for this; I use it for my PC and am almost always directly in front of it.

Other Thoughts: I had an issue where as my PC was logging onto my windows account the monitor would turn off or go black(normal) and not restart (not so normal). This only happened occasionally. 10% of the time it happened every time (Turning the monitor of and on again always brought up the screen.) I had just installed a new graphics card so I didn't want to blame the monitor until I updated the drivers. (My PC hadn't been connected to the internet for a few years) After spending several hours with windows and graphics card drivers being updated. The problem has not resurfaced in the last month and I don't expect it will.

5 out of 5 eggsGood monitor for a good price

Pros: I had initially purchased the Westinghouse 24" monitor. However there is an DVI-HDMI connection issue that won't allow me to boot in this mode. So I RMA'd that monitor and exchanged if for this one which has a direct DVI input. Problem solved! Great picture, beautiful clarity, and awesome HD rendering.

Cons: Some minor issues - I don't know who presets the color and picture attributes at the factory, but you may need to futz around with this until you're satisfied with the image. Once you are, you'll never look back.

Other Thoughts: Menu isn't all that better than the Westinghouse. Picture quality is virtually identical. It's the cheapest, best rated monitor for a reason - because it's a good deal!

It also comes with all the necessary wires and connections. I don't know why manufacturers bother with the integrated speakers. A total waste, and in a perfect world, the absence of them would result in a discount passed on to the consumer.

3 out of 5 eggsMinor Problems

Pros: Large monitor for the price.
Seems nice and bright. Good color.
No noticeable ghosting.

Cons: Came with 1 dead pixel. Thankfully this pixel isn't very noticeable.

The monitor autoswitches between the two inputs when it determines that one source is not sending a signal anymore. This wouldn't be a problem except getting it to switch back requires going through several OSD menus. And this happens fairly often because of DPMS. Should have a button to switch input source.

I'm disappointed with the viewing angles this screen supports. A few degrees off and the picture darkens significantly.

Other Thoughts: Made by Sceptre (engraved on the back).

Tilt and height adjustments. Bright blue power/status LED.

Control buttons are on the bottom edge and not the front.

Some of the OSD menus aren't enabled for reasons I can't fathom.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a SCEPTRE

Pros: Ginormous. Seriously huge. Blacks are black, colors are accurate (though not photo grade), price is right, no ghosting.

This is not some 3rd party monitor. It is a Sceptre, and it is comparable to the Sceptre 24" also on Newegg.

Cons: Not a photo grade monitor. What do you expect?

Other Thoughts: Stop listening to reviews from people who can't set their products up right. Come to Eggxpert and get an informed opinion.
