It Rocks!
- Pros: No dead pixels. No problems as described by some other reviewers, i.e. rocks on the base when you change settings, or changes to max brightness on its own. These problems sound like its RMA time. Asus Rocks! There is no other way to say it. Yes, I have heard that Sony actually builds this one for Asus, but that is why I purchased this one. I am gradually replacing my 10 Sony G400 CRT monitors and this Asus does the job nicely. Other comments that have been offered was that some games don't work well on this monitor. I found that by tweaking the old games that I won't part with, OFP & First to Fight, they work perfectly at max resolution. I will buy more of these Asus monitors as time passes. For now I am 100% pleased and that certainly includes NewEgg that "Zips" right over its competitor, in service,sales and shipping. New Egg & Asus both rock!
- Cons: None really, except the backlighting on dark background that several folks mentioned. But that is not a real problem.
- Other Thoughts: I own two Top of the line Dell 19" LCDs and they are dull and boring compared with this Asus/Sony.
VW222U
- Pros: The specs deliver as promised. You really can't find a better 2 ms widescreen LCD with HDCP support for less. Monitor worked right out of the box, even tho all resolutions didn't show up until installing the driver from Asus' website.
- Cons: The DVI cable included IS NOT DIGITAL. People posting that they are having problems with a digital connection are not using the proper cable. You will need to order a DVD-D cable (the supplied cable is DVI, but its DVI-A (analog...the middle 2 rows of pins are missing. These are the digital blue, red, green, etc). I'm sure I'll get better performance and visual quality going to the digital cable...so when ordering, make sure you realize that for this price, you are getting one heck of a monitor...but you will need to obtain a digital cable if you wish to take full advantage of your video card - LCD connection.
- Other Thoughts: No dead pixels that I've noticed, hopefully the other problems mentioned on Asus' website forums will not surface. Right now I'm happy with the extra size (upgraded from a 17" flatscreen)...after investigating various monitors, this one gave the best bang for the buck, and so far I'm happy. (I'll be happier when my DVI-D cable comes in the mail ;)

Excellent
- Pros: Excellent picture. Fast refresh. Great for gaming with the right video card.
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: It's a few weeks shy of a year owning it and it's still going strong with an excellent picture. I am probably going to get it's predecessor VW224U for my wife. Unless it's better and swap it out for mine when she isn't looking.

- Pros: Love this monitor! Very sharp colors, easy to adjust settings, was set perfectly right out of the box. No dead pixels at all and am glad I made this purchase!
- Cons: Not much in the way of cons really. It would be nice to have a height adjustment, but it's not that big of a deal.
- Other Thoughts: I went from a 19" crt monitor to this 22" LCD widescreen and I simply cannot believe the difference. It's like night and day. If you are looking for a good LCD monitor, this would be an excellent choice. I have no complaints at all.
Nice panel for the $$$
- Pros: Big - if you have not had a 22" before you won't believe what you have been missing. Nice images/fast response for gaming - no motion blur. HD Content looks awesome! Hard to beat for the price!
- Cons: Some backlight bleed around the edges as others noted but you can only see it on a very dark or all black background. Speakers are useless but you don't buy a monitor for the speakers.
- Other Thoughts: Great product - one of the best values for the money i have seen in 22"/2ms LCDs
