ASUS VK266H Black 25.5" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ Built in Speakers 300 cd/m2 1000:1 (ASCR 20000:1 ) w/ Component and SPDIF out Connector

Pros: Wonderful monitor. It's nice with the slightly bigger pixel size compared to the 24" monitors, and I really like the way you can easily change between the display presets.

Cons: I didn't notice this until just now when I switched from DVI to HDMI (so that I can software switch between my headphones and the monitors speakers). This monitor will not go to sleep when it's in HDMI mode. It will turn the entire screen blue and have a little "No HDMI signal" box moving around. It's quite annoying to look at so you really have to remember to hit the little power button when you leave for a prolonged time.

Pros: I recently had two Samsung monitors fail at near exactly the same time (they were both two years old), which soured me on Samsung having obviously implanted built-in obsolescence. So this time around I did a lot of review reading here on newegg and ultimately decided on this model from Asus. I must say so far I am very pleased with the quality of the picture, as well as the design. The power led is considerably less obnoxious than my previously mentioned monitor, and warcraft looks excellent in 1920x1200 on such a large screen!

Cons: The monitor is set a little too bright out of the box, so naturally you'll want to learn how to use the menu buttons and calibrate the display as best you can.

I also would have preferred a model of this exact same design only sans the speakers and webcam. Seriously, if you can afford this monitor, buy some speakers from Altec Lansing.

Other Thoughts: The "overdrive" feature is a little gimmicky. It's suppose to improve response time and reduce ghosting, but I found turning it up too high just creates black-ghosting instead of smear-ghosting. I found the optimal setting of 40 is best while doing display tests in warcraft. Besides, the base 2ms response time does quite a good job as it is.

Pros: great picture, great price, fast delivery

Cons: worked properly for about 5 minutes, then I got a solid line down the middle of the display. I am working with newegg now to get a replacement. We'll see how the next one is

Pros: The capabilities of the VK266H are excellent by comparison to other LCDs in this class.

Cons: One (of four) LCDs is apparently defective: within the first 2 weeks, it developed a large intermittent band across the bottom of the screen.

I find the button icons difficult to read and I either have to get a flashlight or put my eyes within 6 inches of the monitor to see them. ASUS could certainly have made them paint bright or more reflective.

Since the monitor has a USB connection for the video camera; it would have been nice if it used that for audio as well - instead of requiring 3.5mm audio cord (which they do provide).

Other Thoughts: This is an excellent monitor for many different uses.

I've now purchased 4 of these (including one without video) and I have been extremely happy.

Vertical resolution is one of the most significant attributes in determining which monitor is right for you (in my opinion); unfortunately, many of todays monitors are deficient in this area. This change may be for good reasons, but I still feel that the majority of time spent working on computers benefits more from an extension of vertical real-estate rather than horizontal real-estate. It is very easy to put additional monitors next to your existing one; and much harder to add one above (or below).

For that reason, I had decided to replace my two 2048 x 1152 LCDs with 1920 x 1200 ones (again, that extra 48 vertical pixels is far more important than the 128 horizontal).

One of them developed a large bad band across the bottom of the screen (within the first month) and will have go back to newegg for RMA tomorrow.

Pros: Large screen, neat camera, Clear and bright, no dead pixels. It has a high Resolution (1920 x 1200) for an inexpensive Monitor. Half the price of my Dell 2407.

Cons: Too much blue; need to adjust factory default setting for the colors; cable hook-up pannel not easy to access; no HDMI cable.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if Asus added monitor calibration software with their monitors.

Pros: All I can say is WOW!!! This monitor is just amazing. First off, the size is HUGE. I was considering on getting the ASUS (MT276HE) 27 inch model but this is big enough for me. The pictures are sharp and gameplay is great when using an Xbox 360 or a PS3. The webcam is a nice add-on and it does work with both Mac and Windows 7. I have a Macbook Pro and MAC OS X (Snow Leopard) does show the webcam in both Photo Booth and Yahoo Messenger (also windows version). No need to install drivers which is a plus!!

Im not a color expert with these monitors but in my opinion, they show pictures and videos very well.

Cons: I wish there were 2 HDMI inputs but isnt a big deal. It has an component HD input which is a little odd for a LCD monitor but no big deal either.

Other Thoughts: I did a good bit of research in finding the right monitor and I believe I chose the right one. If you're looking for one, consider this model. Also big up's to Newegg for their fast shipping and no sales tax. This is the reason why I've chose Newegg over retail stores.

Pros: Webcam works well and is adjustable. Size is perfect for comparing two documents next to each other. Games look great. Adjustable angle for viewing.

Cons: Height not adjustable.

Other Thoughts: I had never purchased an asus monitor before and I'm going to recommend ASUS to all colleagues.

Pros: Clear and bright, no dead pixels
I bought this when It was on sell w/ free shipping so it
is/was cheaper then any 25+ that I have seen.
Web cam is clear as well

Cons: People are complaining about the speakers.....
yes, they do suck but their 3watt... get over it

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a 17" 4:3. This is huge. Like others have said, make sure you have the desk space to set it up. enjoy

Other Thoughts: The speakers arent loud enough and there is no Mic for the webcam other than that, for that price this is a must buy!

Pros: Looks great.
Vast improvement over my gateway 24 inch.

Cons: Horrible stand.

Other Thoughts: Black line appeared at lower portion of the screen. Monitor will be sent in for RMA. I am upset because I need my monitor for business. Unlike EVGA, Newegg does not provide cross shipment after approval of an RMA.
