5 out of 5 eggsIT WONT DIE

Pros: I bought this monitor is 2007 and it has been subject to countless hours of movies, gaming and basic computer use. I don't live on my pc but it gets used A LOT. I kept telling myself I would wait until it dies to replace but I don't see that happening. The picture still looks good and it has no dead pixels. For the money I paid I have 0 complaints.

Cons: Out of date as of 2013 (almost 2014).

5 out of 5 eggsSix years later

Pros: This monitor lasted me six years... That was six years full of gaming on mmo's, movie watching, anime watching, music production, web surfing.. countless hours of my life. I have to say the color on this monitor was amazing, and still was until its last day. It just recently passed away, so now I am looking for a nice 3d monitor aka 27inch asus or acer. I will miss chi mei as they no longer seem to be in business.. because this monitor was amazing.

Cons: It died.. it wasn't immortal.

Other Thoughts: ohh if I was a necromancer of PC parts, how I would bring you back to life dear monitor! I will miss you.. now it's time to move onto 3d gaming and movies :D

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitors

Pros: Have 2 of these that have been running almost constantly for over 3 years. Do not do gaming but do watch HD tv on them and they do great. No problems and not 1 dead pixel after years of use.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete Garbage

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Screen quality is merely acceptable, but I suppose you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: We purchased four of these monitors just over a year ago. They were used for less than a week when one of them stopped properly syncing with the signal. It took over 8 weeks and hours on the phone with CHIMEI to get a replacement (which wasn't even the same color). When the replacement finally came, it powered off and stayed off within 5 minutes of being set up. Now another of the original 4 no longer powers on. That's 3 monitors out of 5 that are completely dead within the first year.

I'm astounded these have such a high rating.

5 out of 5 eggsStill great after 7 months

Pros: When I first installed this display, I was immediately impressed with the vibrant colors and crispness of the text, even at small fonts. I actually had to reduce the brightness somewhat. The controls are in the most convenient place I can think of - on the thin side panel where they are both convenient AND out of the way. There were, and are, no dead pixels, and contrary to some of the existing reviews, I don't see any significant bleeding from the bottom or top edges. Except for the brightness, which is a personal issue, no other adjustments were necessary. Last, but certainly not least, was the price.'s already competitive amount, plus a $10.00 promotion, plus a $30.00 mail-in rebate, brought it in at under $200!

Cons: There is no swivel capability, although the monitor can be tilted. Still, even this adjustment is limited - I estimate from -5 to +20 degrees. There is no vertical height adjustment, so one must be able to obtain the optimal viewing angle via the tilt. About one week ago, a thin violet vertical line appeared on the right side of the display, but it is intermittent, and usually disappears within 5 to 10 miinutes. It's not enough to lower the rating, but if it ever appears permanently, it will probably be an annoyance.

Other Thoughts: I want to respond to all those reviewers who were disappointed that powering off the monitor while in DVI mode caused the signal between it and the video card to be cut off, and that only a reboot would restore it. If you connect both the DVI and analog cables to the monitor from your video card, and set the multi-display selection to "clone" mode, the problem is eliminated. When you power back on, you will be in analog mode, but at least you can continue your work from where you left off.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have had this monitor for just over 6 months now and I must say it was worth the money. I have had no problems no dead pixels no lines nothing.

Cons: Color is slightly skewed from the sides but other than that it is fine.

Other Thoughts: For the money this thing is top notch. I was weary of buying this because it was not "name brand" but it has been great and was well worth the money.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing product!

Pros: You simply won't find a better 22" Widescreen LCD for the price. I finally upgraded from a CRT to an LCD with this monitor 17 months ago and its worked perfectly ever since and is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I love it so much I even ordered one for my wife as a birthday present and she's just as thrilled with it.

Cons: None. No dead pixels, no problems whatsoever, 17 months later and its still as bright and as crisp and as gorgeous displaying graphically intense games like Crysis as the day I bought it.

Other Thoughts: During the heat of summer, its really great to have an LCD monitor in your room instead of a giant CRT monitor generating tons of excess heat.

Don't let the lack of a recognizable brand name fool you, over 500 five-star reviews can't be wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: Bright. Sharp. Clear. Big. No dead or stuck pixels. Cheap.

Cons: Bright. But that's not really a con. But I had to turn the default brightness setting WAY down, otherwise the colors were washed out.

Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor several months ago and I have absolutely no regrets. And I see that now it's even cheaper than when I bought it. Mine had a $30 mail-in rebate, which they processed and sent me after only a couple of months. Unfortunately, my wife saw the envelope first and THREW IT AWAY without opening it. Oh, well. At least I didn't pay much in the first place for it.

5 out of 5 eggs... Speachless

Pros: I have no idea how to explain. The picture is so clear, colors are so bright and precise, and the contrast is amazing. All my photos look totally different and more real. THe detail of everything is so good. I have been going through my pictures and movies and watching them in awe. I had an awesome (i thought) monitor before, but this one is... is... moregooder!!

Cons: I can't give it 10 stars.

Other Thoughts: It looks wonderful using the VGA cable, once we attached it to the DVI, everything came to life. I would recomend this monitor to everyone! Out of 1,764,000 pixels, NONE were dead. Amazing quality!
