Blah
- Pros: Cheap. Works well with DVI.
- Cons: VGA support on this stinks. Some PCs work fine with it, but I use this as a test bench monitor and often times the "auto" setup that it does shifts the screen a couple inches to the right. It then either cuts off the right side or shrinks it with no way to fix it. Hitting auto again often makes it worse.
- Other Thoughts: If you get this, use DVI. Also, don't expect Hanns-G to do anything for you if it dies after a year. I have a few of them in other offices and one died, no help from them.
Warranty is not 3 years
- Pros: No dead pixels. Decent quality image. Low cost. Takes VGA/DVI
- Cons: Dead after 2 years. Called up Hanns-G and guess what? It's a "Panel Issue" and thus not covered by the 3 year warranty. $75 + shipping to fix. Not worth it.
- Other Thoughts: Buyer Beware. Get it for it's low cost but don't assume Hanns-G will fix it for you under their "warranty" when it dies.
Stick with a brand that has a true warranty that includes the LCD if thats important to you. (e.g. LG )
Good, but most of all, Small
- Pros: This beauty is perfect for those mini computers, plus it's easy setup and menus are to die for. Another positive is it's discrete yet large display, hiding buttons on the bottom for added sleekness.
- Cons: Only that it is limited by it capabilities (only 17") but this is inherent. No cable input.
- Other Thoughts: Good quality display, and it's what you want, something to see this fine site with.

Introduction
The HW-173DBB from Hanns•G displays exquisite 1440x900 detail on its 17” widescreen. This gives it an incredibly tight 0.255mm pixel pitch, so curves, in both images and text, are smooth. The panel can also display 16.2 million colors, so you can set your video card to the maximum color setting and you won’t be disappointed.
The 500:1 contrast ratio and 250cd/m² brightness rating let you use the monitor in most lighting conditions in home or office settings. An 8ms response time reduces stuttering and ghosting during video playback. Using the digital input through the DVI-D port will also improve image quality, though there is a D-Sub port if your system doesn’t have a DVI port.
