5 out of 5 eggsToo bad it's discontinued

Pros: Bought in Oct. 2009 and use in my office 8 - 12 hours daily.

No issues at all.

Now have an HZ281 right next to it for the past year and both going great.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsunderrated

Pros: This monitor is one of the rare ones geared toward gamers

1920x1200 beats 1080p in everything
27"
great for games and decent for video
low ms
affordable for the size

Cons: typical TN issues like low view angle, black color

Other Thoughts: I wish more manufacturer know about what PC gamers WANT

we want big size, low ms, 1900x1200 , LED back-lighted

5 out of 5 eggsPlease stock these again

Pros: Huge. Better than HD resolution: 1920x1200. Some people do more than watch movies on their monitors! The extra pixels is great. When this monitor dies (going strong for 3+ years) I'll probably have to downgrade to 1920x1080. Bummer!

I love this mega-monitor

5 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor!

Pros: I bought this back in 2009 for $300. Still working great! Adjust colors a bit and your good to go. It is bright and fast! I recently bought a BenQ high end gaming monitor to replace because I thought it would blow this one away. I was so wrong! BenQ has nothing on this monitor.

Cons: none (even after almost 4 years!)

Other Thoughts: Almost 4 years and it looks just as good as when I got it out of the box. I have 2 young kids too who always put their hands on it. Cleans up great with a slightly damp majic eraser!

5 out of 5 eggsStill Going Strong

Pros: Great size and a great price point. I'm glad I took a chance on this monitor and have not had any regrets in my choice.

Cons: Takes a little longer to warm up after three years of use but only about 30 seconds and running fine. Wish the stand had some more adjustment options.

1 out of 5 eggsPower Problems and Dead Pixels

Pros: This monitor was cheap and great for a college student who alternated between gaming, graphic design, web design, and needing to be able to pull up 2 word docs side by side.

Cons: But... like many other users, now, about 2.5-3 years down the road, it's having the power issues where it will take some time to warm up or it will flash on and off for a while when it's powered on. Tonight, I powered it on and was greeted by a lovely solid blue line near the right edge of the screen.

Other Thoughts: This 3-year lifespan is complete nonsense. Bought in 2009 because it was cheap; will not buy this brand again. For comparison purposes, the Sceptre flatscreen I bought in 2008 is still going strong with no problems whatsoever.

4 out of 5 eggsTech Support

Pros: Kudos to Hannspree tech repair service in Irvine CA. After getting RMA (took several calls and e-mails) sent in faulty monitor with 2 weeks left on warranty for $35 via USPS. They received it and I had it back 1 week later working as good as new.

Cons: Wouldn't have ordered and received new 27" LED monitor if I'd known it would be back so soon...but once you move up to 27" it's hard to go smaller. Three days with old 15" CRT monitor sold me on holiday deals.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted

Pros: The sheer size of the monitor is awesome. Loved having this thing and it was always impressive taking it to the LAN parties. Color's were bright and clear.

Cons: After 2 years the thing is falling apart. Every morning when I turn it on you see the BIOS loading up and Windows starting, then it goes black. It'll stay black for anywhere between 30 minutes to 3.5 hours while it 'warms up'. If you try to use the computer while it's warming up it will never turn on. (I have a 2nd monitor we use, but if you use it it'll never turn on. We called Hanns Spree and they said the issue was not covered under the warranty and that we would have to pay for repairs.

This made me very sad because I really loved this monitor. But it really should last more than 2 years.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE THIS

Pros: Beautiful picture, good response, no problems whatsoever after 3 years of use. Inexpensive. Sturdy stand.

Cons: They didn't have a bigger one.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a statement for a lan party to show up all my buddies who had faster computers. The price was right and I figured it it lasted a year, fine. It's been three years and I love this monitor. My Viewsonic vx922 transfered to my boy's computer and several months back it started to lose signal on startup. I just ordered him a 21.5 HG.

2 out of 5 eggsThis screen gives me headaches

Pros: It was decent for games...

Cons: Terrible for reading text for long periods. The refresh rate seems to be really bad. It also has terrible viewing angles.... if you're not directly in front of it parts of the screen appear to dark.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for use as an arcade monitor for a mame project and it worked great for that. However it did not perform well as a desktop monitor. It's pretty much a waste and I wish I had my money back from it. $400 I think I paid.
