5 out of 5 eggsWHATADEAL!!!!!

Pros: The monitor is great. Simple clean design. Easy to set up. No issues with image or color. Took it out of the box, set it up, plugged it in, and VOILA... it works like a charm.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: THIS IS NOT A CRITICISM.

17" is not as big as it used to be... LOL... with the onset of 19", 21", 22" 24" and larger flat panel/LCD monitor screens, it all makes 17" screens seem like the forgotten younger sibling... but no worries... it is still a great item and great deal... especially when you get it from Newegg. Thanks.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Came working great right out of the box. I've had this for about 5 months now and haven't had a dead pixel or any other problems. For the price this is amazing.

Cons: Sound is OK but I didn't buy it for the speakers.

Other Thoughts: All around great cheap screen. You get more than what you paid with this.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Monitor

Pros: Nice bright screen, good clarity. Not too tall on the stand, not too thick. Don't take the long "cons" paragraph that seriously, It's only long so that I can explain.

Cons: Only one cluster of 4 pixel anomalies it may be reparable, but I'm not brave enough to poke my screen. I didn't realize this monitor had speakers, I don't use them. If you hope the built in speakers will suffice, you are probably wrong. If you plan on using them for anything other than error/confirmation tones, you should get some amplified stand alone speakers. No DVI, no HDMI, but I knew that before buying it.

Other Thoughts: Used as a monitor alone, it's great.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have bought 2 or 3 of these monitors over the past year for various low cost builds. All have arrived with no defects and are still running today with no problems. Contrast, response time, resolution, and color are all pretty good.

Cons: The speakers are pretty poor, but what do you expect, monitor speakers are usually pretty poor.

5 out of 5 eggsNever actually used it

Pros: Ordered this monitor one day found an even better deal on newegg for a bigger better monitor the very next but had already shipped that fast! Called Newegg right away they RMA'd it for me and refunded within 24 hours of them receiving the monitor back! Newegg is #1 bar none.

3 out of 5 eggsOK, If you don't mind poor sound levels

Pros: Price, The price was low enough that I bought 2 at once.
Style, Looks OK
Performance, Visually work great

Cons: Sound, The sound level is very low and distorts at higher drive levels. This is hooked to an ThinkPad; so I wouldn't imagine that its being over driven. External speaker hooked to same TP sound fine.

Other Thoughts: I had two higher quality LCDs go dead within weeks of each other, after several years of service. They just did not turn on one day? I suspect thier issues were caused by power problems. There replacement are plugged into a SURGE Protector.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice resolution. Works great, no dead pixels.

Cons: The built-in speakers suck and there's no DVI. Would've been better if it was adjustable, too.

5 out of 5 eggsReally nice

Pros: crystal clear. Arrived just in time for college. It might be small at 17 inches, but its a good buy for those who need a good screen but with limited space or budget *both of which were my cases* Has built in speaks as well

Cons: settings are hard to fiddle with, screen was brighter than my old CRT screen. trying to get the colors just right is tricky, specially with you graphics card settings making things harder. speakers are either too loud or too low depending on games or videos. But those are minor.

Other Thoughts: its a great monitor for those looking for a budget LCD screen.
