1 out of 5 eggsshort-lived

Pros: worked out of box, nice display, better with hdmi thought I got a great deal

Cons: less than 18 months into owning it the large (4-5 inches across) bright green volumn display box started popping up in middle of screen for no apparent reason. buttons for menu ceased to function mostly, when they DID function, factory reset did not work. leaving this horrible volume display box dead center of monitor screen. sometimes this would disappear for moments or months, then reappear for no apparent reason. finally, sick of not being able to see what I was trying to read/view on monitor without having to try and navigate around this horrible volume display (that was impossible to move or remove) and ordered a different monitor from a different manufacturer. love newegg, hate hanns.g. I expect a monitor to last more than barely more than a year, the length of the warranty of course. and no, will never buy from hanns g (anything) again. good thing they discontinued this model, but I wouldn't trust that their other products are also inferior, built to last just a month or so longer than the length of warranty. my monitor prior to this one was a 17" crt that lasted 10.5 yrs of daily -several hours a day use.

Other Thoughts: in a few days will receive a new monitor by a different company, can't wait. will be glad to dump this monitor in the garbage. in the meantime, having to navigate around the randomly displaying volume control display in center of screen, glad to know will only have to deal with this for a few more days until a decent monitor arrives. one with a 3 yr warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsnever buy anything from this manufacturer

Pros: worked for a bit more than 1.5 yrs.

Cons: Too bad there's not a rating with a MINUS STAR. piece of junk. slightly more than a year and a half into ownership monitor started popping up volume display in the dead center of screen. randomly. when pressing the monitor's menu button, sometimes could actually obtain the menu (usually not), unable to scroll thru functions nor do a factory reset. ever try to view monitor with a large green volume display popping up right in the center of screen randomly going on and off? lots of fun. NOT. googled this problem, appears many thousands of others have the same problem. AND NO WAY TO MAKE THIS VOLUME DISPLAY DISAPPEAR? as soon as I can afford it, this monitor goes into dumpster with a vow to NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN. Love NEWEGG, that love doesn't extend to hanns g however. live and learn. when I buy a monitor I expect more than 18 months of usage.

Other Thoughts: spend the extra 25 dollars and go with a reputable company with better long-term reviews on their products.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value, Mine died after 1 Year

Pros: Awesome Price (I got it on sale for $119),
HDMI, DVI, DSub.
Nice and Clear, 16:9

Cons: The speakers.... but less than 1% of the buyers actually use the built in speakers.

Other Thoughts: Mine just died after a year, powered off by itself, refused to come back on, eventually turned itself on again, but went directly to standby, as soon as it comes out of standby it powers off again.

Not knocking an egg off because im not sure if this was a result of the power problems after Hurricane Irene.

The replacement / Newer version of this model on New Egg Now Lacks HDMI.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Monitor

Pros: HDMI, low response time. full 1080p with some adjustments. 3 ports in back, vga, dvi, hdmi. 1600x900 native resolution 16:10. Widescreen. looks good, runs quiet and doesnt get hot. I
ncludes wall mounting holes. Win7 and Vista driver support.

Cons: The build in speakers are complete rubbish, but anyone buying for that reason should reconsider. Otherwise a great great buy for the price. at this time its deactivated, bummer lol. The buttons on the bottom take awhile to get used to. Not a very well known customer, but this shows brand doesnt always ensure quality

Other Thoughts: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Very crisp picture, awesome colors, alot of tweaking features, HDMI, DVI and VGA, using on PC via HDMI from AMD 5830, and the picture is amazing, colors, whites, blacks, everything.

Cons: those lil bitty speakers arent all that powerful, but expected, I wasnt worried about the speakers at all, but I game them a try, they work for hearing window's lil ticks and beeps, but I turn on the surround sound system for Games/Movies/TV.

Other Thoughts: Too bad its discontinued or i'd eventually grab a few more. only paid. $119, and it blows away the Acer that I paid $150 for!.

5 out of 5 eggsYet another great product for a great price from Newegg

Pros: HDMI and DVI. Picture quality is good. Use for TV (HDMI) and comp (DVI) - switching between the two is most simple and convenient.

Cons: Volume a bit low but not a problem at all

Other Thoughts: I use this in the bedroom as tv and computer- Direct TV HD-receiver connects via HDMI and I have one of my networked computers also connected via DVI. Set my computer to hibernate after 2 min of idle then screen goes black and turn on the HD-receiver to watch tv. Simple and convenient.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the buck

Pros: Price $119 and free ship ... for my first wide-screen monitor it's not bad. The HDMI connection was the push to buy this model and type. So far I'm very impressed by the color and look of the monitor.

Cons: Buttons are located in the middle bottom , not a bad choice just a bit annoying sometimes when adjustments are necessary.

Other Thoughts: This is my first wide-screen so it's taking a bit to get use too... but no complaint there.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product for the price

Pros: Great size, great contrast, awesome price.

Cons: The monitor setting buttons are inconveniently located at the bottom center of the screen, so it's a little akward to adjust settings on the fly. You really need to develop a "feeling" for which button does what, because the labeling is quite poor. Also, I had a hard time finding the headphones plugin. All the features of a normal monitor are here; you'll just have to poke around a bit to find them.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because it has an HDMI in, which is great for playing PS3 games. It's suprisingly pretty bright, and the contrast is not too shabby at all. A great buy for the money. Do yourself a favor and don't spend more money on other monitors, because this guy has it all, even though it may have a slightly poor engineering interface.
