4 out of 5 eggsProbably the happiest ive been with a monitor

Pros: It amazes me how happy I am with this monitor. I bought the cheapest monitor on Newegg for a reason: I didnt care about quality. I just needed a cheap display to setup some machines and use occasionaly for troubleshooting. (Machines are servers, no need for monitor.)

I turned it on for the first time and realized how bright and clear and vivid the screen is, its super thin with a small bezel and very very light

Cons: I wish it had a built in power brick. I don't like external power bricks with monitors.

2 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware

Pros: Picture quality is decent, and it is compatible with any VESA format mounting bracket.

Cons: One unit I have not been able to use because the screen instantly washes out to bright white when I turn it on.

The second unit has started doing this as well after about 2 months of use. The only way I have found to get it to display color again is to open palm smack the front of the screen. Trust me, this wasn't the first or ideal action, but it is the only way I can get it working.

Other Thoughts: The unit is very light, which can be good... however it feels very cheap and flimsy. Adjusting the tilt of the monitor stand feels like you're abusing the poor thing.

Rather than using a standard power cable this uses a 12vDC adapter at the wall plug, which can be cumbersome if you are using a UPS or any surge protector. If you are using a "standard" power strip or surge protector this unit will cover 3 outlets.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap, and nice picture!

Pros: Great picture
Light weight
Small
Works perfectly for what I needed
Low price

Cons: Every here and there I see a distorting effect on the far left.

At first I thought it might have been something software related, but after searching I found nothing. Turns out after turning the monitor off and back on, everything looks great.

I won't take away a star, as this is most likely confined to my unit only.

Other Thoughts: Great for budget builds, or small work spaces!

4 out of 5 eggsGood, just minor complaints

Pros: Respected brand. Cheap. Function as intended for they're intended purpose.

LED backlight (no mercury)

They seem bright enough

Very energy efficient

Extremely lightweight, I may be able to use it as a flying disc (*cough* frisbe *cough*) when it dies.

Cons: VGA (D-SUB) only, but I knew that at time of purchase

Small: the size of a mid-sized laptop screen...also knew that

16ms response time is sort of slow nowadays...knew that

contrast ratio seems low for a modern monitor...knew that from the description

power supply is external, at the wall end of the cord and it is big enough to get in the way of other power cables depending on what you plug it into. I would rather an internal PSU or one in the middle of the cord as a laptop would be.

Ordered 5, one came with 6 dead pixels. I'll see if that is covered by Hanns-G. Usually warranties cover 5+ dead pixels at time of arrival.

glossy screen picks up fingerprints...why are you touching it again?

the resolution seems small. They're not 1080p, but if they were at this size, I would squint to see anything on them. For their size, the resolution is pleanty large enough...which is also why they may not come with DVI capability.

The buttons for power and setup are physical buttons at the bottom. They appear to be touch buttons so for a minute I got a little frusterated when it wouldn't turn on. Just know that they're physical buttons and they're underneath the bottom.

Other Thoughts: Due to their size, plan to sit close to them and since they're so short, put them on something to raise them to your eye level. I am placing all 5 on slim desktop computers designed for this use. If I had towers sitting on the floor, I may consider spending a little more for taller screens, which leads me to my next point.

With all of those slightly negitive things I listed that I knew at time of purchase...just think, I bought them anyway because they're super cheap. They still work great for what I needed them for and they're small enough to keep the desk which holds all of them from looking cluttered. Keeps it looking clean and neat, so small is good for me. I did not knock an egg for anything I knew before I purchased. I knocked an egg mostly due to the pixels problem and the awkward power supply. No biggie, but both worth one egg to me.

For only $30 more you can probably grab a 19" if that would better suit your purposes.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: Loads in half the time of my main screen.
Small (Its hard to find a small monitor)!
Light weight.
Tilts (Many small monitors you cannot move)
Energy efficient

Cons: Only VGA
Wasn't free?
No wall mount?

Other Thoughts: Secondary monitor for use when studying/gaming to keep tabs on music/friends without tabbing through things and killing my attention.
Does everything I need it to, good aesthetics, loads quickly.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for two days

Pros: A competent basic monitor.

Cons: Quit working after two days. It blinks on and off. A google search shows this is a common problem.

Other Thoughts: Apparently many people have this problem. poor quality control.
