The LCM-22w3 from Westinghouse is a strong contender in the 22” widescreen market. The 700:1 contrast ratio and 280cd/m² brightness rating help make the images on the 1680x1050 resolution screen come to life. And once they are moving the 5ms response time keeps them from stuttering or ghosting as they move across the screen.

Inputs include a DVI-D port for digital signals and a D-Sub port for analog. The two 2.5W speakers are fed from the stereo mini-jack. All the ports are easily accessible on the back panel, even if you’ve got the monitor mounted to the wall on the 100mm x 100mm VESA standard mounting holes.

Westinghouse has long been a household word in consumer appliances and electronics, and they've brought their expertise into the monitors that are these days so much a part of our life. They've done it right. Try it out.

4 out of 5 eggsawesome bang for the buck

Pros: very bright, nice colors. can't really complain. best monitor bang for the buck. RGB, D-SUB, DVI, and HDMI. what more can you want?

And i bought it at best buy with an 'open' box so i got it for like 220 with tax. check your local best buy - might find a better deal!

Cons: the buttons on the side of the monitor are a PAIN in the a**. i'm not sure who came up with them - a 5 year old?

like someone said below, if you're using HDMI, when it goes to sleep, the monitor turns bright blue...not sure why westinghouse did that. so it sucks if you are watching a movie late at night and you fall asleep and the computer goes inactive cause then it turns blue.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Value Monitor

Pros: Vibrant Picture, Great Contrast, Quick response Time, Very light and very thin

Cons: The buttons could have been placed better or could have been more responsive, the refresh rate max is only 60 htz, no DVI Cable

Other Thoughts: I got this monitor for only 120$ and it was well worth it. I needed to adjust the monitor colors, brightness, and contrast but after I did that the picture was stunning. It is great for viewing pictures, watching videos and for gaming. If you can get this monitor on sale I highly recommend you pick on up.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good...

Pros: This is a very good monitor. It is thin and very smooth looking. Almost like a apple display. It has a wonderful picture. Although it has speakers, I'll never use them and haven't. I went from a 19 CRT to the 22 wide. I'm going to get me a second one.

Cons: Everyone talks about back lighting in the reviews but I really can't notice it that much. I would not consider that to be a con. compared to other LCD's out there, this one is my fav.

Other Thoughts: There were no dead pix on arrival.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall Good Monitor

Pros: First off the look is great. Low bezel which is nice. The monitor is matte black, not glossy which would get finger prints on it instantly. The monitor is VGA and DVI. Built in speakers are nice for when you don't want to bring speakers with you. They are rather wimpy so if you're into audio you'll know to just use external speakers. Price was really nice. I didn't get it on New Egg only because of holiday specials in retail stores.

Cons: There's only two things that I found wrong with the monitor. The first one actually has nothing to do with the monitor, but Westinghouse could have included a DVI cable. If they did then I wouldn't have found problem two. When you use the VGA cable there is a lot of ghosting and text looks blurry. If your PC can use DVI then I strongly suggest it.

Other Thoughts: I've never heard of Westinghouse until 2 years ago when I randomly bought one of their LCD tvs that ere on sale. The TV has never let me down so I don't expect this monitor to either. Westinghouse is a great quality affordable company to purchase from.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the money

Pros: Price, however I bought it from Best Buy. Just switching over to this from my 19 in samsung I will never go back to anything that isn't widescreen.

I saw a few issues about color, but I came from a samsung and I can't tell a difference

Cons: One year factory warranty, I upgraded through best buy. I suggest that those of you who buy from newegg should do the same.

Other Thoughts: No idea about dead pixels, nowhere in the warranty paper does it talk about it. Just contacted them, waiting for reply.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great value priced monitor with good resolution and brightness levels.

Cons: As mentioned, this unit is a little slow to recover from power downs. Only slightly annoying.

Other Thoughts: I've read some reviews that complained about the difficulty switching inputs. Press and hold menu button (2nd from right) then change input by pressing right select (3rd button from right) and press menu button again. A little more effort than some but much easier than going through the full menu process.

4 out of 5 eggsGood monitor for the money

Pros: I bought it for $199 from local retailer the week before Christmas. 22" Widescreen from a name brand manuf can't go wrong. ZERO dead pixels. it is VERY bright, 3 levels let you adjust just how bright.

Cons: My video card doesn't support it's native resolution. Icons & text look distorted, just ordered a new ATI 2600XT to fix that.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your video card can handle the native resolution.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: Great monitor. It is clear, bright, and very thin. Auto aspect ratio is great for those old non-widescreen games. 1680x1050 is sweet!

Cons: It doesn't come with a DVI cable. Thats an extra 10-20 bucks.

Other Thoughts: Got mine for $197 because the box had a hole in it :D.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad at all

Pros: I also bought it from a retailer on black friday for $167 + NYS tax. There are no dead pixels and it performs well for a cheaper LCD brand. It beats my 19" Hanns-G that the retailer had to pay the rebate on, as the manufacture welshed on the deal. If you are expecting a deep rich screen then pay the big bucks and buy a much more expensive unit. You probably wont be happy with this one. If you want a very large screen at a reasonable price, then this may be what you want. Do your homework and make some comparisons before buying. The 19" Acer that I bought from Newegg about 3 years ago still has the best color depth of the three. It was also the most that I have paid for an LCD monitor. It just helps prove that you get what you pay for.

Cons: Does not compare to more expensive brands of the same size. Contrast ratio could be better. Again, I didnt pay the big bucks either.

Other Thoughts: Over all, I am very happy with it. This is my third LCD and also the cheapest yet. Time will tell if it was truly a bargain. I have no reason after a month to believe otherwise.
