1 out of 5 eggsWill not last

Pros: Worked like a Champ. I bought this because "back in the day", USR was the company to go with for Modems. Rock Solid, and Worked with all apps. Sure enough - Effortless configuration with my proprietary app. Worked Great!!!

Cons: Died after 6 mo.
NOT the USR I used to know and love. Called support, and they said it only has a 90 day warranty.

Well... it lasted twice as long as USR expected.....

Other Thoughts: It's sad to see yet another company that used to make solid equipment, turn to just putting out junk....

5 out of 5 eggsDependable Modems

Pros: Quality, name brand product. Have purchased 5 of these modems on several different occasins, from Newegg, for different builds for family members and relatives without any problems with any of them! A couple of them are 4+ years old.

Cons: Narrowband, dial up internet access! It's a shame that some areas of the country still depend on this form of access!

1 out of 5 eggsBig problems in Window 7

Pros: Installed in Windows 7 no problem, but Windows 7 has other ideas

Cons: Windows 7 64 bit says there is no modem installed
Many others said it worked fine in W7
Who knows why it decided not to work on my new 6 core AMD machine

Other Thoughts: I installed the modem in Windows 7 64 bit just fine.
Modem shows up in device manager as working properly.
I can query the modem in device manager no problem.
When I go to set up a dial up connection Windows 7 says it cannot find a modem.
I emailed US Robotics and they called me on the phone to help.
After 15 minutes, they finally said they do not know why this is happening
US Robotics told me to contact Mocrosoft
I don't want to go through all that for a silly little modem
I am returning the modem to Newegg and trying another brand
