This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Image quality is super even in extremely low light conditions. To Test it I turn out all the lights one night and from the monitor glow only I was able to get a surprisingly good image. Auto focus works great 99% of the time. Most importantly (for me) the built in Mic is superb. I was able to pick up normal speaking from ~25 Feet away in a moderately noisy large(60x120) room.
Cons: "RightLight2 Technology" appears to be a gimmick, as I have seen no difference with it on or off. "intelligent face tracking" is also gimmicky, it has trouble tracking and insanely slow to respond.
Other Thoughts: Video response time and quality of movement decreases with lower light, however they are still acceptable unlike some USB cams I have tried. There is about a quarter to half second lag on video being displayed, so if you want real time video this won't work.
Our use: A Non-Profit I work for broadcasts, over the internet, our monthly meetings. They consists of a room (12x18) of 20 people or fewer. So far we are extremely happy.

Excellent, Yet Myopic

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Superior picture at close range. Auto or manual focus, digital zoom, pan, tilt (image shift when zoomed), color balance and exposure controls.
Cons: Myopic (near-sighted) camera. Cannot provide acceptable focus beyond 8-10 feet. Best focus under 4 ft.
Other Thoughts: I bought this camera strictly for the touted image quality. Unfortunately the camera is designed to provide crisp focus at very close range only. Ideal for chatting - but not for my intended use. Too bad they don't mention that in the specs.
If the Cons aren't a problem for you, then give it 5 stars.

Pros: Camera has superb resolution, which is expected due to the Carl Zeiss lens (pretty much what you are paying for). Red ring glows around Logitech logo in center to let you know when it's on in case you don't know. Support for 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate, definitely a plus in my book.
Cons: Price is kind of steep, although I got it on sale for less than Newegg's price with rebate. Software is a bit much, lots of features but most people don't need all the bells and whistles that come in the software. You need to have a higher end computer (high end graphics card and more than 2gb of RAM, 4 to 8 recommended) to do the HD widescreen shots. I have 8gb of RAM and a XFX nVidia 9800GT with 1gb RAM and it did pretty well.
Other Thoughts: As a general rule of thumb, I don't buy Microsoft Webcam's due to finding drivers later down the road. Logitech seems to be selling a lot of these (which they are also recommended for Microsoft Office Communications which is nice) so support for them down the road shouldn't be a problem due to popularity.

Does Not Work With Realtek ALC889 Audio
Reviewed By: ryan on 2/3/2010
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Worked great until i upgraded to Windows 7. Great features, great mic, good software
Cons: There is a known issue that logitech is just coming to grips with. there is a device driver error when used with the realtek audio driver (alc889 on my board). Locks up the sound and leaves the sound hanging when you try to close windows. No sound will play. Look on the logitech website under their forum and it seems people started having trouble late in 09. I bought the p6x58d board first of the year and camera now has to operate as a usb device. buy something other than this one if you have a new motherboard.
Other Thoughts: contacted customer support and they are at a loss as to how to fix it.

Pros: One of the best webcam you can get! I have families oversea and I communicate with them daily over Skype. I bought 4 of these for each household when they were on sale. The video/image quality on these webcam are simply incredible! I can actually read the words on a poster hanging on the wall of my parents house! The mic is also very good. I can talk while walking around my living room and they can hear me perfectly. I also own a MS VX-7000, another highend webcam, but it cannot keep up with this webcam.
Cons: These are very minor cons...Expensive, but you get what you pay for! The noise isolation function sometimes will get confused when the room gets noisy and cut out the conversation. I also wish the LCD mount let you rotate the webcam too instead of just moving up and down.
Other Thoughts: If you can afford to spend a few extra $$ then get this webcam and forget about everything else!
