5 out of 5 eggsSuper web Cam.

Pros: Awesome and very fast face trucking. Good quality. Even after 2,5 year works great.

Cons: Nothing.

3 out of 5 eggsOverpriced

Pros: Video quality itself is decent - or it was years ago when this thing came out. By today's standards you can do better though Logitech has a pretty good grip on the webcam market.

Cons: The motorized tracking is the reason this is so expensive still. It is overly sensitive and unless you're doing cartwheels in your office chair I'm not sure why a webcam needs it anyway.

The "extension rod" is flimsy and repeated attaching/detaching of it will cause your connection on the base to loosen, causing connectivity problems.

All controls are software-based and Logitech has to have some of the most disruptive and invasive software I've ever come across. This is probably nitpicking but for this price I think I should be allowed that.

Other Thoughts: The thing with webcams is half of it is the camera and the other half is your connection. If you're looking for real camera features like zoom, color representation, light detection, things like that then I'd look at some of the new HD webcams. Even the HD ones from Logitech are way cheaper than this - again, the motor is why it's expensive.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Cam

Pros: Heavy base, won't tip over, extender pole to adjust height, long USB cable, install of cam software was easy and installed on first attempt with built in Web Cam on laptop, good resolution with clear picture, PTZ works good.

Cons: Kept wanting me to install the Logitech video software, I had to "un-Select" it twice during install. PTZ only works from the maintenance screen by clicking arrows for the direction of the cam to move. Would have been nicer with "click in picture" to locate cam.

Other Thoughts: Nice style, good looking, compact.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Option

Pros: PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom), Face Tracking is good, microphone can pick up all voices in a 16x20 room so it has worked well for our conference room, picture quality is good, software controls for PTZ are decent

Cons: Software/bloatware - logitech cams always have lots of bloatware & updates and I knocked them down a start for this. It's also a bit tricky to setup the extension for the camera, not difficult, just a bit more tedious than I'd like.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Webcam, tricky sofeware

Pros: it is one of the best designed webcams out in the market. I have had it for 3.5 years now. I mainly used it for video chatting through msn. It did its job well. I used it in windows xp, visa and windows 7. Still works like a champ today. To summarize it up:
1. Good imaging quality for taking pictures
2. Good processing power for taking videos
3. Well designed. It definitely makes your desk look pretty. :)
4. Good compatibility. Used it with all sorts of operating system and IM software. Never had any major problem.
5. Price was cheap. Only cost me 70 dollars since it had a $25 MIR.

Cons: The major let down here is driver, customer service and software. I had difficulty to get it work well with Windows 7 64bit Professional first. Whenever I took a MSN video call, my system go to BSOD. Turns out it was caused by the webcam driver. I felt strange since I used the lastest LWS 2.3 Driver bundle downloaded directly from Logitech. After tons of analysis I decided to roll back to the old LWS1.1 driver. And all problems are solved. So apparently Logitech did a bad job on the driver.

Then it is there customer service. Over at Logitech forum the people are completely non-helpful. They will never address the driver problem even when hundreds of people posted about the same problem. And guess what? They blame the IM provider and windows for "not compatible with their driver" ---I was speechless. So I got to solve the problem myself by analysis their my BSOD dump file. But at least I got it sorted out.

Other Thoughts: Logitech can also work on their webcam software features. I mean for a 100 dollar webcam, the included software is just lame. My GF's laptop built-in camera have more features! Add more fun filters and etc!!!

Overall, it is a good webcam. Very nice design. Flawed driver but can be fixed by using older version. I took off one star because of the driver issue and lack of features.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat even at full price

Pros: Face tracking is good
Movement detection is a good feature
Endless possibilities with focus and other settings
Can be controlled with the mouse

Cons: Face tracking is only good... And thats some of the time.

Other Thoughts: Solid camera, actually my first and last web cam the extender for the camera lens is also a great add in. Never had any issues I can remember ( had it for years) and its a solid buy. I highly recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat webcam

Pros: Great resolution and easy install. Stand is very stable even with the extension stand in. The camera follows very well side to side. Works great if you have a corner desk with a lot of space.

Cons: Camera doesn't follow very well up and down. Does side to side very well but up and down will lose you and you have to put your face back in view again to have it follow. Not a big deal at all as most of the time your not moving up and down.

Other Thoughts: Would buy again for sure. The software is windows 7 compatible now so the older reviews are now incorrect.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Great pircture quality. Easy pan/tilt adjustments. Built-in mic.

Cons: When you use the mounting rod, the camera would go offline even with a slight shake or vibration of table. Software comes with "bloatware". Must be careful just to install what you need.

Other Thoughts: There are drivers for Windows 7. I use this with W7 x64 version - no problems.
