5 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse

Pros: Plug'n'play, comfortably contoured, long battery life. The two side buttons are my favorite feature - they can be programmed to serve different functions or keystrokes in different applications. I work in AutoCAD and Solidworks for a living and simply having the two buttons mapped to serve as "Enter" and "ESC" keys has greatly increased my workflow efficiency.

Cons: None that I have noticed.

Other Thoughts: The only two times I've had trouble with this mouse were either issues with a program I was using, or a stray hair getting inside the mouse.

The horizontal scrolling feature of the wheel did not work in Google Chrome because of coding in Chrome, not an issue with the mouse or its software.

About a month ago, a stray hair caught itself in the optical tracker for the scroll wheel causing it not to work properly. I cleaned it out and haven't had an issue since.

3 out of 5 eggsPretty bad reception.

Pros: Great design, fits perfectly in my hand and very comfortable. Scroll wheel feels nice, and the tilt wheel has a nice tactile feel to it. Receiver dock inside battery cover. Works great even without Logitech software. The tracking is basically good, minus the jitter of the wirelessness.

Cons: The reception is just horrible. The mouse is very jittery and unresponsive in any but the most perfect conditions. (Through my front port works well, but through my rear port there is almost no way to use the mouse without wanting to throw it at a wall. And there isn't any distance difference or any significant physical barrier between the two, as my computer sits under my desk underneath the mousepad.) Batteries seem to burn fast (I use it about 4 to 6 hours a day, and in 10 days my batteries are already starting to run low, though they advertise "up to" 2 years battery life.).

Other Thoughts: Get the corded version unless you absolutely 'must' get a wireless mouse, especially if you are a gamer like me. I trusted the wireless thing would work out pretty well, esp. since it's so inconvenient dragging the cord around sometimes, and the battery thing wasn't much of a problem to me, but I will definitely use this one only for when I get a laptop. I'm seriously considering getting the corded version though, because at $30 it sounds like a really good deal, since the mouse itself is basically pretty well designed.

4 out of 5 eggsGood mouse while it worked

Pros: It was a comfortable mouse and worked well on most surfaces although it had problems with rough surfaces such as some woods and carpet. Forward and back buttons placed very well. Long battery life

Cons: Center click died after around 2.5 years. This wouldn't normally be too big of deal but I needed it for CAD work.

Other Thoughts: It might be possible to replace the switch myself with a soldering iron...

3 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Everything is good.

Cons: Middle button need "some" force to click. (let say 3, from 1 to 5)
I've been using this mouse for 1.5 year.
It is starting to lose its connectivity.
You can't notice during the general uses, but when you play the simulation or strategy game, you can't fluently move the mouse cursor.

Also I feel that all of the battery, wireless, and laser connectivity are getting loose.
I used the mouse about 5 hours a day.
But I treated it very carefully.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: -Scroll wheel has side tilt
-Buttons are not excessively loud
-Buttons do not click extremely easily, nor are they difficult to click. Great tension.
-I have somewhat large hands, and I find this very comfortable to grip. Side buttons are easy to reach and activate, and the contour between them makes it easy to know which you are clicking.
-Tracks on most surfaces quite well
-Responsive; no noticeable delay
-Good battery life (I've had mine for 3 years, and the original set lasted 24 1/2 months)
-USB Receiver is compact; does not interfere with other USB items
-Side buttons make web navigation easier.

Cons: None. My middle click button is finally dead, but I've dropped this poor thing more times than I can count. I'll be buying another M510 to replace it.

Other Thoughts: For the price, it's a great mouse. If you're a gamer and want a couple extra hotkey buttons, but don't want to shell out the extra cash for a higher end mouse, this is a good choice.

2 out of 5 eggsToo heavy

Pros: The mouse is comfortable to hold, sturdy, and made of quality plastic with a nice rubber grip.

The battery life is great. I have not had to replace the batteries since I bought the mouse more than 6 months ago.

Cons: This is my first wireless mouse and I find it far too heavy to use. I often find myself switching to the trackpad and only using the mouse for center click operations that I can't perform with the trackpad.

I find myself wrist fatigued after using this mouse even for simple web browsing.

Additionally, even on my low resolution 1366x768 laptop screen I'm unable to get all the way across the monitor without lifting the mouse.

I tried installing the Logitech setpoint software, and although the pointer speed and acceleration settings did help, I couldn't to find a setting that was as comfortable to use.

Other Thoughts: In the end, I made the decision to stick with a cheap, low end wired optimal mouse because it is light weight and tracks smoothly.
