Logitech Marathon Mouse M705

A wireless laser mouse that lets you power on with a three-year battery life and a tiny, leave-in receiver.

The Logitech M705 Marathon wireless laser mouse lets you browse documents and web pages faster, switch between programs more easily and power on longer - with a three-year battery life. The tiny, plug-and-stay unifying receiver means you are always ready to play instantly.

Features
Logitech Mouse

Click and Go for Years without Battery Changes

For you, having a wireless mouse is all about convenience. You want to check email, click through web pages and scroll through spreadsheets anywhere you like — without wire clutter or a second thought. The only problem you may encounter is your mouse is a bit power hungry, causing you to change batteries more often than you expected. That's where Logitech's new Marathon Mouse M705 can simplify your mobile life.

Logitech Mouse

Power on with Up to Three Years of Battery Life

Say goodbye to the hassle, expense and waste of frequent battery changes. Your new mouse uses less than half the battery power of comparable wireless mice. It's so energy efficient, you won't even have to think about replacing the batteries for years. And since you'll be using and disposing fewer batteries, you'll be doing a good thing for the planet, too.

Logitech Mouse

Take Comfortable Control

The first time your hand rests on the Marathon Mouse M705, you'll know there's more going on here than a simple point and click. The compact, sculpted shape guides your hand naturally into place, giving you effortless mouse control that's oh-so comfortable wherever you go. Plus, three integrated thumb buttons are right where you need them to move more quickly between web pages and applications.

Logitech Mouse

Logitech® Unifying Receiver and Laser Tracking

The tiny wireless receiver stays in your notebook, so there's no need to unplug it when you move around. Plus you can easily add a compatible keyboard or mouse. Laser precision means you'll enjoy smoother tracking on just about any surface.*

*The laser sensor does not work on glass or mirrors.

Logitech Mouse

Scroll There at Hyper-Speed

You set the pace. A single spin of the scroll wheel helps you fly through long documents, presentations and web pages to find what you need in a flash. Or you can to shift to click-by-click mode for precise line-by-line navigation of lists, slides or images.

Logitech Mouse

Sculpted, Right-Hand Design with Additional Buttons

The sculpted, right-hand shape guides your hand to a naturally poised position and places customizable control within your reach. You'll save time with the app-switching button and Forward/Backward buttons.

5 out of 5 eggsPefectly fine mouse. Accurate. No fake-clicks. Holds the charge good.

Pros: Excellent

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I long hesitated to get a wireless mouse as I experienced a lot of issues with connectivity and accuracy before. But - this one is perfectly fine. Highly recommended.

1 out of 5 eggsOnly worked for 2 days, Logitech unresponsive

Pros: Nice feel on my hand, I prefer a larger mouse

Cons: After two days, it simply wouldn't power on. New batteries changed nothing.

Other Thoughts: I contacted Logitech 12 days ago, and I haven't heard back. I guess I'm swearing off of them now. I just threw my money away.

3 out of 5 eggsScrolling Problems

Pros: It worked great for a few months.

Cons: The scroll wheel stopped clicking and the scrolling became erratic. It also stopped tracking on the chair arm, but I I got a chair arm mouse pad that solved that problem.

Other Thoughts: The mouse is difficult to pick up without inadvertantly pressing a side button. I was able to turn off the side buttons in the settings.

2 out of 5 eggsDurability is a problem

Pros: Works well when new

Cons: Buttons don't hold when depressed as the mouse ages. I'm having this problem on two different Logitech mice that are just over a year old.

Other Thoughts: I've been a devoted Logitech customer for 20+ years, but the new crop has buttons that won't hold without really bearing down on them as they age. I'm accidentally moving folders, mis-selecting in CAD. Very frustrating and disappointing. Going to try something else. If I have to toss the mouse after a year, might as well buy something cheap.

5 out of 5 eggsMeets All Expectations

Pros: The laser is splendidly accurate.
The extra buttons are very useful, the optional software you can download to program the buttons really makes them useful. I get a thrill out of being able to highlight something, click the thumb button, and automatically get a Google search results page of what I have highlighted.
The scroll wheel may be the most amazing and useful asset of the mouse to me, since I'm so used to a standard scroll wheel. Having both the super-fast scroll and incremental scrolling is very helpful for different types of schoolwork and everything else I need the mouse for.
I really wanted a full-size mouse that wouldn't cramp up my hand if I needed to use it for a long time. This one fits my hand comfortably and is nice and grippy.

Cons: I haven't noticed any problems so far. It is a little awkward to press the scroll wheel button and then roll the wheel when trying to zoom in/out on webpages; it's hard to get it back to original size because the scrolling is so sensitive while holding the scroll button down and scrolling at the same time. I guess the main problem is it's too easy to accidentally scroll while trying to just push the scroll button in. Anyway, it's hardly a real problem; just a little awkward.

Other Thoughts: The Logitech software still says my batteries are full even though I've been using the mouse for about a month. As long as it's not lying to me, it looks like the multi-year battery life promise will be true to its word.

5 out of 5 eggsA Faithful Friend

Pros: Battery life is as long as advertised, responsive, nice scroll wheel, good ergonomics, back/forward buttons, low-profile USB dongle.

Cons: The life of the mouse itself, give or take, is as long as the battery life.

Other Thoughts: I bought this mouse at a store about four years ago. I liked the concept - wireless, long battery life, etc.

I am now in the market for another mouse. Mine has survived, thick and thin, through Windows 7, 8.1, and 10. True to advertising, I replaced the batteries a few months ago. Now the signal is intermittent, mostly having trouble when turned on and doing fine from there.

Here's why I'll probably buy another. I have rarely used a USB mouse this responsive. It has served me well for my gaming purposes - I'm not a professional, but I can still clean house in TF2 when I put my mind to it. Also, the USB connection is tiny. I practically never removed it from my laptop until I got a gaming PC, so now I only remove it when switching from one unit to the other. Incidentally, that might be what killed off the mouse.

It's a good mouse. Never seen the back pop off unless I wanted it to, so I don't understand what others are saying about that. Try it, you'll like it!

3 out of 5 eggsGood overall mouse

Pros: Lightweight, multiple buttons, ergonomic fit, unifying device can be paired with other logitech wireless devices.

Cons: My parents have a mouse identical except that it has a small space to slide the unifyer into, and an eject button to make it pop back out when you need it. They seem to have redesigned it and now you have to remove the battery cover to keep the unifier with the mouse. This sounds fine, but the cover is not held on by much, and it's just a matter of time till half the bottom of your mouse is missing all the time, making it almost impossible to use. Also, the muse wheel has a button sitting behind it that give you the option for smooth scroll or more precise scrolling. The button sticks, then stopped working within the first 20 uses or so. I'm now stuck on smooth scroll and I would prefer the other.

Other Thoughts: Overall it's a good mouse for casual on the go use with a laptop or even basic computer use at home.

2 out of 5 eggsScroll wheel moves too freely

Pros: feels good in hand, looks good (...?... c'mon, its a mouse)

Cons: the scroll wheel moves so smoothly and freely that it will actually move unintentionally. It also seems to happen frequently right when I want to click on something so I end up clicking in the wrong place!

Other Thoughts: some very slight detents on the wheel would dampen the "free-wheeling". IMHO I'd probably be happier with a normal $20 mouse from wally world

4 out of 5 eggsDecent mouse that lasts long, will recommend.

Pros: Durable. Low power consuming (battery lasts long). Never disconnect itself. Good buttons arrangement. All buttons customizable with an extra optional button what won't stick out at the side (won't get in the way if not used). Middle wheels can change into spinning mode allowing fast scrolling in a single click. Nice design / shape.

Cons: Heavy(might be a pro for someone). Uses two AA batteries even though it is low power consuming.
The dotted texture at the side might accumulate dust or dried sweat within the dented dot, which is really annoying for people like me who sweat on the hand quite a lot especially during summer.

Other Thoughts: This wireless mouse is heavy, which is usually a con unless for the people are used to using heavy mouse. I was using a mouse that is really light, which takes quite a while before I can accurately move my mouse, but I eventually get used to this heavy mouse (I'm finally able to continue playing OSU with it).
This mouse uses two AA batteries, which adds weight to it. But the battery last long. I've had this mouse for more than a year or two, yet I still have 40% battery left according to the SetPoint software from Logitech.
All buttons including left and right buttons are all customizable with SetPoint. Yet, you can't lauch a program with it since it's not a macro, buy you can assign keystroke to it (Ctrl / Ctrl+Alt.. etc.). I set mine into minimize just to make my use easier.
