Take command of your game with the GameComPro1 headset from Plantronics. This headset plugs into an available USB port so you make one connection and you’re in! The nearly 10' long cord has an inline DSP unit, so the headset handles equalization functions, freeing the CPU to run the game. A volume control and mute button give you easy access during game play.

40mm speakers deliver full, clean sound without the strain and distortion common to smaller units. This combined with 32-bit digital bandwidth ensures that you’ll hear everything you’ll need to for an immersive gaming experience.

The quick adjust boom stays where you put it, for a "set and forget" experience. The noise-canceling mic at the end of the boom offers superb voice clarity. So whether you are using the Plantronics Gamecompro1 to game or make VOIP calls, you can't go wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best

Pros: Excellent sound, microphone, comfortable.

Cons: They don't make these anymore

Other Thoughts: For the life of me I don't understand why plantronics discontinued this headset, it really is the best I've used.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've owned this headset for about 2 years, it works perfectly. I've used it for 100s of hours also. Easily worth $50.

Cons: The volume control button located on the wire, has a mute button on it. Depending on how you sit, you may accidentally hit the mute button without knowing it.

Other Thoughts: I just installed Windows 7 and this headset is giving me some problems. I can't turn the headset volume up past 30/100, otherwise you hear a lot of feedback/dead noise. I'm not sure if the problem is the headset or Windows 7.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Bought this for my girlfriend; she loves it on her Mac.

Good Audio (skype, vent)
Decent Music (iTunes)

Cons: Cord could be longer? It works as it should, absolutely not a peep from her. (which is a suprise, let me tell you)

Other Thoughts: I'll get one of there or the new model when my current cheapie ones give out.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Long cord
No complaints about the sound quality.

Cons: Not as comfortable as the Microsoft headset we have, or the PLANTRONICS .Audio 995 we also bought.

Other Thoughts: Foam/cloth covers get stuck on my Wife's earrings. I like the fake leather covers on our other headsets better than the cloth/foam as well.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful sound quality

Pros: High quality sound, plug-n-play, ready to go out of the box with no drivers required. High quality mic as well.

Cons: Doesn't allow sounds to be recorded when using Fraps. Ear cups fall off after many months of use. Not secured very well.

Other Thoughts: Definitely a good set of headphones for sound quality both in input and output. The ear cups falling off is easily remedied by using glue/paste to stick them back on. Could have been better designed, but doesn't take away from the audio quality at all.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: comfortable for the most part, output and input is acceptable, and I like how if you are on vent, the voices will only play in your headset but you can listen to music through your speakers.

Cons: the auto-mute thing really ticks me off sometimes lol I don't know how to get rid of it but meh.

4 out of 5 eggsLong Lasting

Pros: Nice sound, very clear mic. Just plug and play.

Cons: Buzzing noise when you activate the BASS booster.

Other Thoughts: Bought this in June of 2005. It lasted perfectly fine for over 4 years until my dog decided to chew it, prompting me to come here looking for a new one. Only thing that happened was the foam piece came off the mic.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Headset I have ever owned

Pros: This headset is by far the best I have ever had the pleasure of putting on my head.

* Superbly Easy Set-Up
* Unbelievably Comfortable
* Crisp Bright sound with good bass response
* Light weight but sturdy flexible construction
* Plenty of cord length
* Does not require software *****

Cons: These cons should be taken with a grain of salt - I'm going to be VERY picky here:

*Mute button keeps turning itself on whenever system-wide sound changes or Ventrilo Setup are made. (but not normal use)

*Length of cord from headset to in-line volume could be a few inches longer - only an issue if you turn your head sharply and have it clipped low.

*Microphone boom is VERY long, but only gets in the way if you like to eat with a headset on - which is a bad habit.

*Volume control is not as sensitive as I would have liked.

*Does not come with software. *****

Other Thoughts: I definitely recommend this headset to anyone looking to use Ventrilo/Teamspeak/Online Gaming, as this headset set up so easily it literally could be called PlugNPlay.

As for setting it up for everything else we listen to on a computer it is a bit more difficult - remember you ARE basically adding a second sound card with a DSP Headset.
-- You will need to set up volume levels, equalizers, device defaults, and device affinity in individual programs for the best performance.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Comfortable and good sound quality. USB makes it a breeze to connect and use

Cons: The cord was always twisting up and eventually snapped after about 6 months. I think the weight of the DSP may be to blame. I was bummed.

Other Thoughts: Not buying this set again but I will be buying plantronics again and I ALWAYS use!!!
