5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have two; one for home, and one for work. I'm in the games industry, and I use it all day in Maya, XSI and Photoshop and it works great.

Since getting it I have had no pain in my arm and hands because of my work.

It's easy to get used to, and it works fine for games, although since you use some different muscles, it will take a little time to be as accurate for FPS games as you would be with a normal mouse.

Cons: Having the hand sideways can put pressure on the styloid process (that little bumpy part of the ulna that is opposite the thumb) should you have one that really protrudes.

There is a simple and cheap fix for that, and that is to buy a padded mousepad (I like the Handstands Ergo-Mat mousepad. The entire thing is made of ~1/2" fabric coated memory foam, so it's very comfortable, and the mouse glides very well on it.

Alternatively, you can use padded gloves, like mountain bike gloves.

Other Thoughts: If you get rev. 3 (it says on the box next to the name) it has manual sensitiviy adjustments.

4 out of 5 eggsRelaxing but twitchy...

Pros: It's very relaxing. I do database administration work in 12 hour shifts (4 days a week). Wrist pain and tiredness is all but gone now that I have this mouse. It does take a little getting use to the feel of it but it's not hard to use at all.

Cons: The drivers make control a bit strange. To get the best control of the pointer (for me), I have the pointer speed at the #2 position and the "Enhance pointer precision" box checked. Without the box checked in that position it is far too slow, but if I speed it up it becomes very twitchy.

Other Thoughts: All in all, I'm very pleased with this mouse. I didn't buy it for the movement (though that is important and adequate for what I do), I bought it for the comfort and it definitely measures up in that area. I like it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: If you want to skip the wrist pain using your mouse, switch to this one. It takes few days to be accustomed. It's the best mouse to stop the pain, so far.

Cons: Still have some software problems. The laser

Other Thoughts: It looks weird at the first time. But after at all, very satisfied.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Ultimate mouse

Pros: This is the best mouse on the market for anyone having carpal tunnel issues in the wrist. I met the designer, Jack Lo, of this mouse at Comdex in November of 2001. It was not available until August of 2002 and I am on second vertical mouse (version 2) I have installed 4 of these at work for fellow employees with wrist issues over the last 4 years. Version 3, which I installed this morning for another employee, with its 2200 dpi is accurate and lightning fast. Use the enclosed software to take advantage of the programmable features. I have gotten two of my doctors to get them for their office staff and they thank me everytime I come into their office.

Cons: As it is by design rather tall, it may clear the desk if you use an underdesk keyboard tray and you fully close the tray. I just put mine up on my desk at the end of the day.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall a great mouse

Pros: I love how this mouse feels, it is easy to use, easy to customize, easy to move around, my wrist feels more natural, looks like some sort of rock (interesting).

Cons: Was buggy with direct plugin on XP until I installed the company's driver. Occassional tracking loss.

Other Thoughts: I usually use an intellimouse and had that one for years - but it finally lost tracking and clicking was weird so I went looking for a solution to replace a good mouse AND lessen stress on my wrist. If intellimouse came out with a vertical version I'd probably buy that one, but this is a great alternative and I am really happy with my purchase.
