5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Surprise!

Pros: Excellent Build Quality, seems sturdier than my Mamba, albeit lighter. Software has improved dramatically. The Ambidextrous design does not hinder comfort, and I've had a long standing preference towards Lagitech. Zero Input Lag. No waiting for the mouse to do anything weird after reboots. Grips don't feel like they will fall off as they did on my Mamba. Changes made to the Taipan's configuration are applied in real-time. Way faster than making changes to the Mamba was. I remember complaining about doubleplusungood Razer software before. Razer listened. From where I stand, this mouse is Flawless.

Most importantly, Razer listens.

Cons: For the time being, I have a doubleplusungood internet connection. Took me about 30 minutes to get the software + dotnet4.0 install + updates. Didn't come with a CD, but even if it had, I wouldn't have bothered with it.

Other Thoughts: sample cs:s configuration (NOT cs:go):

7200 dpi, 0.125 sensitivity

beautiful, beautiful accuracy. you can really feel the accuracy at longer ranges. like, you can decide which eyeball you want to nail from across the map.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing responce

Pros: Amazing dpi adjust on the fly. Awesome razor software for good macros and custom button layouts. Very nice ergonomics fits perfect in hand.

Cons: No weight customizing. The mouse also feels a little on the cheap side to the touch a lot of plastic. Two of the side buttons are awkwardly placed and hard to hit. Overall after a while of owning it got used to the weight so just enough to take off one egg.

Other Thoughts: Overall awesome mouse for fps and rts if that is your thing. Razor cloud software is awesome just log on and there is my settings for the mouse (Awesome for lans). If you are looking for a solid mouse with stupid high dpi definitely worth it.

2 out of 5 eggstracking

Pros: love the on the fly dpi adjusting and when it does track, its accurate.

Cons: after 2 weeks it started acting up. the mouse takes 2-3 mins, after boot up, to start tracking. luckily I have my old razer diamondback also to use until this one "warms up". very annoying. I expect more for the price and from razer.

5 out of 5 eggsRazer Taipan

Pros: Great mouse over all one of the best mouses I have ever owned.

Cons: A little small for big hands. Some times will make our hands sweat because hands is cramped for space on the mouse.

Other Thoughts: Wish it was a little bigger maybe the size of the oriborialis razers next new mouse but without being able to change size and with out able to be wireless.

3 out of 5 eggsDrivers ?

Pros: Comfortable grip, very responsive, programmable buttons, adjustable DPI on the fly.

Cons: At times the Razer Synapse software will not recognize the mouse. I has to be reseated for it to be recognized. The mouse mat has to be calibrated each time the computer is restarted. I would like to at least be able to assign it to a saved profile. Had to disable right side buttons because if they are accidentally pressed while in IE or Chrome it will cause the page to go forward or backward depending on which button was pressed.

4 out of 5 eggsMaybe I have better luck than most

Pros: I see a lot of complaints about the Razer Synapse software, but I personally have never had any issues with it. I use this mouse for general internet browsing, playing WoW and a few FPS and being able to change the sensitivity on the fly is awesome. As far as the size of the mouse goes, I have fairly large hands (I'm ~6'4) and I don't notice the fatigue other people are referring too. Maybe I'm holding the mouse differently, but it's pretty comfortable to me.

Cons: The only con I really have is that I would like for the mouse to have some sort of memory installed so that I didn't have to install the software on every machine I use.

Other Thoughts: Final thought: I know Razer is known for the green, but I really wish they would come out with more color options on some of their products.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: -Feels great in hand
-Smooth top with nice rubber grips on the side.
-Great quality

Cons: -Only lights green, I wish that they would make thier mice color changable.

Other Thoughts: -I have used the copperhead since it was new all those years ago, and am only replacing it to upgrade. If this mouse last half that time I will have got my money worth.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible mouse for the $

Pros: Sensor, when it works...
Scroll wheel...

Cons: Synapse 2.0
Mouse craps out after reboots/startup, have been through all levels of support, all updates to my system and mouse. I have to unplug the mouse and plug it back in just to get the horrible thing to work. They stopped replying to me after they couldn't fix my issue on the 8th or 9th attempt, didn't even offer to ship me a new one. I don't know what happened to this company, but they def. aren't putting out the same quality as they were in 2005/2006.

Other Thoughts: Wish I went with steelseries

Manufacturer Response:
