Not Bad
- Pros: +Lets me play games in surround without running the speakers.
+Comfy for such a large headset.
- Cons: The quality of sound coming out isnt the best but it is enough to get by with. The 'subwoofer' is always set at minimum volume since anything louder starts to distort the speakers.
The volume control box should have been placed further away from the headset as it is either dangling off the headset or in my lap (as opposed out of the way or on the desk).
Earmuff(?) on the left came loose but it was easy enough to put back on.
- Other Thoughts: I've been looking for a 5.1 headset and decided to try this one. I have a 7.1 speaker system and that of course is better both in sound quality and 'surround' sound.
Surround sound is OK.
If someone can suggest something that would give better quality of sound I would consider buying that one....
Wish there were more to choose from
- Pros: So far very comftrable, the sound seems to be very nice , and plenty of adjustment with the dials. I have used them several times for up to 3 to 4 hours straight and they didnt seem to bother me.
- Cons: The only thing that keeps me from giving this headset 5 eggs is the control box needs to be back in the line probably another two feet. Every time you put this headset on you have to have that control dangling or sitting on your lap. Very annoying. One more thing that would be nice is if they came in a black finish rather than this funky green.
- Other Thoughts: I am no expert on this but after owning the HPA 2 Turtle beach headset and now this Tritton set, I will say that it seems that more companies should put a little more research in these 5.1 products. It seems that they just crank them out with out the R & D and you the consumer has to suffer. Because there are not a lot of 5.1 headsets to choose from and the HPA2 was so uncomftrable I probably would buy these again.
Sweet
- Pros: Great Sound, Sturdy, Easy to setup, cheap price, overall great headsets. Microphone works great, my voice sounds so much better than on the eDimensionals I used to have.
I would buy these again.
- Cons: The earcup's padding came off the first time I tried to put them on and it was a pain to get it back on. Now I handle them differently and no problems. 5.1 surround works, but as others said, it can be kind of annoying that bass sounds only come from the front, and I noticed that in EAX mode I had some dead spots at various angles.
- Other Thoughts: Found out that if you set these to 4 channel speakers, it sounds amazing, bass is loud at all directions, sound is still distinct at all directions without any dead spots. Only drawback to 4channel is that there is no distance distinction, all sounds are the same volume, no matter how far away. This could be con or not, u decide.
