2 out of 5 eggsGood sound quality, cheap materials

This review is from: SteelSeries Siberia v2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-size Headset - White

Pros: This headset has amazing sound quality and it is very lightweight when wearing

Cons: Very cheap materials used. Just recently the suspension cables on the headset broke and the plastic is starting to wear. The ear muffs themselves have held up but they do cause some ear pain after prolonged use, at first i though this was just me getting use to it but after a year of heavy usage the pain still appears enough to where i must switch to speakers and rest my ears.

Other Thoughts: This headset is way overpriced for its quality. Though the sound is amazing the item itself is less then acceptable. After now a year of usage its beginning to fall apart and the sound will cut in and out. After this experience i do not think ill be purchasing another Steel-Series product anytime soon.

2 out of 5 eggsLeft earphone stopped working

This review is from: SteelSeries Siberia v2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-size Headset - White

Pros: This is the second pair i've bought the first pair worked great for two years and broke because of a personal accident, amazing quality mic everything

Cons: On this second pair the left earphone decided to just stop working, it was working one second and then i exited a program and it wasn't anymore, I'm pretty disappointed and unfortunately won't be taking my money to steelseries again I was a huge fan of their products but after a little research this is a COMMON problem that the mic side earphone craps out

Other Thoughts: Hopefully the wiring problem on the mic side earphone for the Siberias will get fixed, overall they're amazing headphones for a great price however the faulty wiring is more than enough to convince me to not buy again

2 out of 5 eggsUnimpressed

This review is from: SteelSeries Siberia v2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-size Headset - White

Pros: -Lightweight
-Comes in a lot of color options
-Decent microphone
-Unlike the KrakenPro from Razer, does not need extension cable to use mic

Cons: -Cheap plastic construction
-Mic is quiet until you adjust settings in Windows
-GLOSSY PLASTIC IS UGLY WHY CAN'T COMPANIES REALIZE THIS ALREADY IT'S THE 21ST CENTURY
-Headband cannot be manually adjusted, SteelSeries gets to decide how the headset fits, not the consumer.
-Very little clamping force, sound leaks and bass is really week.
-Circular ear cups, might bother some people
-Pretty weird looking, not the best for public use unless you don't care about aesthetic

Other Thoughts: These headphones were a gift and I only use them to be nice, but also because I'm broke and can't afford to buy a standalone mic and the Kraken Forged that I want. Anyway, if I could, I'd use something else. The build of these headphones is cheap and pretty bad. The plastic creaks when worn and it gets old very quickly. The headband will fit however it wants to, so if you don't have the perfect head, good luck. Due to the loose headband, a lot of sound is lost and bass is very week. Mids are nice but highs are pretty muffled and bad. The headset is decently comfy, but the earcups get very very hot after a few hours. I find myself removing one cup at a time to cool an ear off. The microphone is clear and crisp, but out of the box is inaudible and picks up breathing as if it is magnetically attracted to the mic. It's alright for a headset but not a headset that usually costs about $100. I was pretty disappointed with these cans. I don't understand the popularity since they're really not all that good.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Headset, But With Faults

This review is from: SteelSeries Siberia v2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-size Headset - White

Pros: They produce decent sound quality. The headphones are lightweight. The headband stretches and is pretty comfortable...it doesn't squish your head.

The headset fits both my 10-year old son and myself well which was crucial when shopping.

The cord length is short, but they provide an extension cable which is a nice addition. The pull-out/push-in microphone is a terrific addition since it seems as though it will add to the longevity of the part. The mic also seems to pickup speech fairly well.

The headphones are pretty nice looking.

Cons: The headset is mostly made of cheap plastic. While I'm sure that adds to the lightweight nature of the headphones, I shudder to think what would happen if they took an unplanned fall onto my tile floor.

The earphones start to become uncomfortable after about an hour of continuous use. The cushions don't feel as though they are going to last too long, seem as though they may be prone to ripping or wearing thin. Mine haven't yet, but I weary of it happening.

The sound (as I said in the pro's) is just decent. It leaves something to be desired, but is probably as good as its going to get in this price range.

Other Thoughts: Prior to buying these (from another retailer), I was using a pair of Beyerdynamics DT770/Pro Reference Studio Headphones with a separate cheap clip on mic. After 5 years of consistent use, they finally broke...as did my heart. Those headphones were amazing!

Unfortunately, I didn't want to spend another $300 on headphones, so I opted to spend less. I did quite a bit of shopping around and finally settled on these for most of the reasons I outlined in the Pro's. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. I'm happy with the Siberia V2 overall, but had I the disposable income, I would easily buy another set of the DT770/Pro or comparable headphones. The Siberia V2's simply cannot compare to the DT770/Pro in sound quality and when playing online FPS' where hearing every footstep counts...well...my frag rate went down :(

4 out of 5 eggsPerfect for Gaming

This review is from: SteelSeries Siberia v2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-size Headset - White

Pros: Light-weight, comfortable. The mouse hides away (I don't use it a-lot). Sound is average. Good build quality. Fairly loud as well.

Cons: Sound quality is not the greatest, but it's not terrible either. These were made for gamers obviously, not audiophiles. Others in the room will hear what's going on, it bleeds sound a great deal, even at medium volume level. Too much base causes notable distortion.

Other Thoughts: This happened to be perfect for gaming and I have no complaints as of this writing.

3 out of 5 eggsEh

This review is from: SteelSeries Siberia v2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-size Headset - White

Pros: Microphone works decently well, tucks away when you don't need it or want it. The extra cable is nice for movement around your setup if you want to stay plugged in. Mic on/off in line is nice for when I walk away and leave Mumble or Team Speak running. Nice volume control on mic on/off too. Soft on the ears, which is huge for me. Great sound range for a multitude of musical genres.

Cons: Creaks. A lot. Have to tighten the screws on the adjustable strap at least once every month for it to not creak. You can crack the plastic by over-tightening, so be careful. Cracking it does solve the creaking issue forever though. Right side went dead for ~1 day after traveling in backpack. After fiddling with the cables running from left ear -> right ear, the right came back online. Think there may be some connection issues on the right side of pulled on. Passive sound cancellation means you can still hear annoyances if you are hoping to work with music on.

Other Thoughts: Takes time to break them in. The speakers have to be used in a pretty wide range before they are consistent with sound outputs. Cable without extension reaches from my head to pocket for my phone/iPod when I'm walking.

2 out of 5 eggsGood for a while

This review is from: SteelSeries Siberia v2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-size Headset - White

Pros: The sound quality is acceptable ( I knew they would not be great), they are very comfy when you first get them (see cons), inline mic and volume controls are functional (even though I despise fumbling around for them), and the long extension for the 3.5 plugs is great and I will probably use them for different products in the future.

Cons: Really, I only have 1 con, but it is a large one. I picked these up at a local store about 10 months ago on impulse. I had been saving up for a nice pair of headphones and a separate mic and saw these. I knew from reading reviews that these were supposed to be super comfortable so I just grabbed them. 10 months later, I cannot wear them. The padding on the ear cups has flattened down and now the grill in frond of the drivers touched MY WHOLE EAR..It has been getting worse and worse over about the course of a week or so, and now they have gone from being uncomfortable to hurting.

Other Thoughts: Made an impulse decision to buy a "convenient" gaming headset instead of saving a bit more and getting some nice headphones and a mic. Now I,m just $80 farther away from the headphones I actually wanted with sore ears...I would not buy these again or recommend them to anyone who will use them often. However they might be a nice headset for someone who won't used them for hours each day.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset

This review is from: SteelSeries Siberia v2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-size Headset - White

Pros: Great Headset, sadly I broke mine after a year but it was not the fault of the headset. Does as it says love the wire length. Going to get another one.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsA solution for a problem...

This review is from: SteelSeries Siberia v2 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Full-size Headset - White

Pros: A robust well made product to use with a hi-end sound card. Works splendidly.

Cons: Slightly tight fitting at first, compared to what I am used to, but I'm confident it will become better with use.

Other Thoughts: This nice product resolves a problem, which is: "I have an expensive hi-end sound card. Today's USB based mic/headsets cannot be integrated with it. Must I abandon internal sound hardware? " Not at all. The Syberia V2 with it's frequency response and solid construction is a reasonably priced product for gaming and music. I'm using it with an ASUS Phoebus, and it the combination is working splendidly.
