Altec Lansing is one of the names to conjure with in audio, so it's nice to see a set of headphones with a noise-canceling boom microphone at this low price. Comfortable soft ear cups help muffle outside sounds, and the padded headband makes for a more comfortable fit.

Gaming, VoIP, small office, laptop or tower, this set of headphones is ready to tackle whatever job you put to it. The 3.5mm connector means compatibility with a large number of devices, and the 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz frequency response means that if you can hear it, they can play it. The 100 Hz to 10 kHz response of the microphone gives plenty of bandwidth for clean, clear transmissions.

Give this pair of inexpensive headphones the once over or even the twice-over and make up your own mind. We'll be right here when you're ready.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Everything I could have wanted, Comfortable, crisp, clear, loud sound, great bass. Gold-plated 3.5mm jack, along with a creative soundcard makes this a great headset.

Cons: Cord is ridiculously long and sometimes gets caught on stuff, but I can walk from my computer to my door on the other side of the room with these things on.

Other Thoughts: Gaming is awesome with this headset, the surround sound effects on the headset in recent games sounds amazing.

Music sounds great, same can be said for movies. Very happy with my purchase, bought this at Target because it's sold out here, the extra 10 bucks was well worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: I've had it for a little over a year and it has been wonderful until now. Good sound and mic quality over all- Amazing considering the price

Cons: Mic cuts out and stops working after about half a second, but again, this only started happening about 2 weeks ago. Gets kind of uncomfortable and hurts ears but only after 2-3 hours of constant use, taking it off for 5 minutes or so every other hour gets rid of that easily. Umm, it also just looks a little goofy with an extra little Loop thingy going 2 inches over your head.. but.. I couldn't really care tbh- ALL MINOR FLAWS

Other Thoughts: It's a $20 headset- it's not supposed to last forever (directed at other reviewers)
I'm completely satisfied with getting a year out of it
(after learning not to abuse the heck out of it like i have past headphones)

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent quality for price

Pros: This is by far the most comfortable headset that I have ever owned. I have owned several headsets in the past that would make my ears sore after long gaming sessions but the only after affect of this headset is a slight indentation that it'll leave in your hair.

Cons: The mic rotator becomes weak after a few months of use but not so weak that it will simply fall from where you put it. Not reeeeally a con.

3 out of 5 eggsPilot

Pros: The headset did block out all sound in the background and allowed me to hear clearly to w/e i was doing atm. Mic worked great and clear.

Cons: A bit heavy on the head and made my ears itch a ton. Eventually the side of the headphone popped off very easily within a few days. The headset is also very large and made you look like you were getting ready to pilot a plane.

Other Thoughts: If you are careless about your headsets and u like to just throw it around somewhere. THIS IS NOT FOR YOU.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset for Price

Pros: Great sound, very comfortable, long cord.

Cons: The plastic on the in-line volume control is cheap, I've had two sets of these and I have had to glue both of them because they pop apart.

Other Thoughts: Can't beat the quality for the price, this is my favorite headset I have ever had

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price!

Pros: Good for the price. I paid $40 retail for these about a year and a half ago and I've been in love with them ever since. Good sound quality and they've held up pretty well, consider I've put probably a couple of thousand hours on these over that span of time.

Cons: They can become fairly uncomfortable after a few hours of wearing them. Have to take a break from them periodically and plug the speakers in. However, when I do this, I can sit these on my desk, point the mic in my general direction, and still talk without having to raise my voice... so that's almost a pro, I guess :P The mic boom does not hold position very well about about a year and after a year and a half, the padding is starting to crack.

Other Thoughts: Great for the price! Like I said, I've had for about a year and a half... can't beat it for $24 (the current Newegg price). Looks like a new pair for G!

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fairly good sound, microphone quality is very respectable. In-line controls are very useful. Long cord makes it practical to use in a medium size room. Microphone boom actually stays where you put it.

Cons: Cheaply made cord. The wire for the right channel is frayed just above the in-line controls after about six months of use.
Also, the sound can be kind of tinny as others mentioned.

Other Thoughts: I'm told this headset is the first one I've had where I sound similar to how I do in person. I used it for everything from gaming to A/V editing and internet radio broadcasting and it worked very well until the cord frayed. As I said above, the sound can be tinny, but the bass can be amazing too so it's not a big issue with the proper equalizer settings. Also wish I bought it from Newegg, as I paid about $20 more than what it's sold for here.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: comfortable, cheap

Cons: Cheap, cheap. the audio sounds somewhat "tinny". VERY VERY long audio cord. get an echo noise in my audio, but when I try any other headset, it goes away.

Other Thoughts: I had the old Altec Lansing 502i model that was about the same price as this.. I LOVED those as they produced deep rich sound. Unfortunately they were discontinued and replaced with these. I tried these because I LOVED my old Altecs, and I know many that had the 600 model series and didnt like them. What a waste.

4 out of 5 eggsSufficient

Pros: The sound is good and clear. It's great for games, because I can tell where enemies are without seeing them.

Cons: Honestly, I expected better sound quality. I didn't have high expectations, but I wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong, they sound fine.. but not any better than standard headphones.

Other Thoughts: They're not the lowest quality pair I've ever owned, but you don't want to physically abuse these things because they WILL break.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: It's very nice, high quality sound, These are actually ear cupped. Nice long cord. I like that the microphone is bendable.

Cons: For some reason on Skype calls when I talk the first 15 seconds it is really muffled then it clears up.

Although I think it is my fault, maybe with my soundcard settings or something else.

Other Thoughts: I recommend buying this product, it is great. And very perfect quality
