ROCCAT Gaming Mouse

Lag-Free Precision
The 3200dpi Pro-Optic R2 Gaming Sensor plays in the Champions' League of optical sensors, offering lag-free precision. We increased maximum speed to 130 inches per second and raised maximum acceleration to 30G. And like the current generation of ROCCAT gaming mice, the polling rate clocks in at an unprecedented 1000Hz.

The Kova+ now also comes with a feature-rich driver package, allowing precise adjustment of the sensitivity and dpi settings. All seven buttons plus the mouse wheel can be assigned a multitude of functions and custom macros, as well as predefined ROCCAT Presets. The Creating Game Profiles option makes things easier when starting a game, as the Game Profiles function automatically loads settings specific to the particular game during start-up.

Easy-Shift+ Button
The Easy-Shift+ button doesn't just give you access to seven mouse buttons plus the mouse wheel – you also get access to 16 additional functions at the touch of a button. The Easy-Shift+ button is similar to the shift key on a keyboard. If you hold down the Easy-Shift+ button while pressing one of the other standard mouse buttons, you can program a second function (dual-assignment).

Sound Feedback
The Kova+ also features Sound Feedback – a new feature first introduced on the ROCCAT Kone+. The mouse informs you of any changes to the dpi, profile or sensitivity settings by reading them aloud. This means there are no additional displays to distract you from gameplay, so your full attention can remain on screen.

Multicolor Light System
A multicolor LED system allows the mouse to light up in seven different colors – plus the mouse can be further personalized with color rotation and other lighting effects using the driver. You can even assign colors to profiles, so when you switch profiles the color changes, too.

V-Shape for Left or Right-Handed Use
The Kova+ sits nicely in both the left and right hand. Thanks to a slightly raised ridge on the upper casing, you can control the Kova+ with maximum precision. The Griptech side areas extend all the way to the top of the Kova+, letting you hold the mouse securely when lifting it. In addition, the new Soft-Touch Coating offers amazing grip, complementing the non-slip performance of the familiar solid rubber Griptech side areas.

Part of the ROCCAT SDMS Series
As part of the ROCCAT Smart Desktop Management System (SDMS), the Kova+ Max Performance Gaming Mouse fits seamlessly into the angular, stealth-look of the series. SDMS has become a byword for performance-focused gaming with its series of perfectly-coordinated products that offer optimum handling and improved ergonomics.

ROCCAT Gaming Mouse

3200dpi Gaming Sensor
The maximum precision optical sensor effectively reduces pick-up flight. The resolution can be configured at 400, 800, 1600 or 3200dpi at the press of a button.

ROCCAT Gaming Mouse

Easy-Shift+ Button
Thanks to Easy-Shift+, the mouse buttons as well as the mouse wheel can be duplicated and assigned macros & functions – giving a total of 16 functions available at any one time instead of the usual 9.

ROCCAT Gaming Mouse

Multicolor Light System
The driver offers you a palette of seven colors to choose from – cast an atmospheric aura over your desktop if you activate the rotating or breathing effect too.

3 out of 5 eggsGood while it worked

-Nice array of software features

4 out of 5 eggsBest mouse I ever owned

Pros: - Good amount of buttons
- Good Construction and feel
- EasyShift Features are awesome
- LED Colors are a nice touch
- Good DPI Settings

Cons: - Mouse wheel was pretty clunky to use at first and now it seems broken after 2 months of use, it doesn't properly scroll at times.

Other Thoughts: I got this when it was on sale and it was an absolute steal. 4/5 would buy again.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall satisfied

Pros: Macro and button scheme is clever and functional...

Cons: Build quality leaves me a little unimpressed, not sure if I want to try any more Roccat products.

Other Thoughts: After using this mouse for about a year the glue started to leach out of the thumb area below the back/forward buttons (triangular peice of rubber for grip) It has been about 2 years since I got it and it is still working well. After a rage session, lights cut out, but came back a week later. No other issues besides the glue, which is really annoying and messy. Cleans with 90% rubbing alcohol.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding!

Pros: Price, 9 Buttons, Both Hands, Macros, Light weight, Does not feel cheap, Customizable lights, Easy to use drivers, Rubberized and the packaging is flawless

Cons: I cannot think of any

Other Thoughts: After my Logitech MX310 Mouse started failing a couple of months ago I could not find another mouse that was able to fully replace it and the ones I found were for right hand only and since I am left handed my options are limited (normally I have to re-map all key bindings because WASD with the right hand and mouse on the left doesn't work for me) so having a mouse that can add more commands and flexibility is a must and after a few weeks looking for a good replacement I found this diamond in the rough. When I look at the price I had my doubts but since it was the only one looking promising and the price was not bad at all (I do not like to pay $80, $90 $100+ for mice or keyboards since all of them do the same) I decided to give it a try and I do not regret anything now.

The driver works flawlessly and is easy to use (I had to download it) and apparently I was lucky since I see the driver had issues before, it takes around a second to apply the changes or your settings, the macro recording is very easy to use although I don't use it, very responsive without any hiccups or freezes even when I am banging all the buttons non stop.

2 of the buttons did not work out of the box but that was expected the only "issue" was to learn how to making them work JUST SELECT "ASSING A SHORTCUT" SELECT EITHER CTRL, SHIFT OR ALT + THE KEY YOU WANT TO USE, and in game just press that button ON THE MOUSE and the game will recognize both keys push together (Like Alt+M, or Crtl+M) I am using it to play diablo 3 and it works.

The only thing I didn't like was the rubberized coating on the top of the mouse, don't get me wrong it is comfortable but you'll leave sweat marks all over the place... oh well, oh and the LED's are just gravy, LOL

Other than that I am very satisfied with this mouse and I will recommend it to everyone

3 out of 5 eggsLasted 2 years... but some inhibiting problems

Pros: Great DPI control, very nice and raw input

Lasted 2 years before giving out

Nice illumination features, high amounts of customization

7 buttons (not including EASY-SHIFT features)

Cons: Mouse wheel axle broke about 3 months in

Impossible to open mouse without destroying protective padding

Gunk is extremely hard to clean because of this

Mouse wheel became very difficult to scroll without using a special technique after the axle broke

Driver sometimes interfering with windows recognition of the mouse when plugged in

Other Thoughts: I do a lot of 3d modeling and gaming, so I do use the mouse wheel heavily, so that could be why it broke. However, being unable to open the mouse nor clean the gunk out of it was an extreme downside. About an hour ago, after some time of acting up, my mouse began freezing and disconnecting (not physically), then I unplugged it and felt the USB end of the cord was extremely hot (burnt my finger a little bit), and the cord's end that goes into the mouse burnt my hand as well to the touch.

I've had a variety of roccat products, (Roccat KAVE, ISKU, and Kova[+]) however I do not think I will be buying from them again. I'll probably just try Logitech stuff, like the wireless mouse from my laptop that I am using now.

The Roccat KAVE 5.1 surround analouge headset was a gift from a norwegian friend of mine, and lasted me an impressive 4.5 years or so, truly a great headset. It just began to fall apart, and that may have been the result of my cats chewing the cord and me needing to tape things to make the sound work properly. The quality before that was truly amazing however. My Isku got soda spilled on it rather early in its life (about 4 months in) when I had a friend over and he spilled it accidentally. The keyboard still works, but the 1-4 keys do not, escape does not, and the comma and some other punctuation keys were broken as well. However, I was able to take that one apart even though I could ultimately not fix it all the way.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: - The lights are pretty
- Good movement, accurate, very fluid
- Love the amount of customizability, the "Shift" feature is grand and really allows for versatility
- Subtle-looking mouse, good for left-handers who share with righties

Cons: - The lights can be a tad annoying at night. Just turn them off or switch to red at night, maybe dark blue. Also the orange is basically just a green.
- A bit of a lie in the advertising, as you can't really customize the "Shift" button on the mouse (But really, why would you want to?)
- The scroll wheel is nice and gives good tactile and auditory feedback, but it's unusually hard to depress compared to a normal mouse. It takes some getting used to, but it's still rather hard.

Other Thoughts: I got this on sale, so it was an absolute steal for its actual value, but even not on sale, I'd still buy it, and recommend it, knowing what I do now.

5 out of 5 eggsNever looked back

Pros: Very comfortable with tons of customisation. As someone who never quite accepted macro keys on keyboards or mouses, the easyshift feature became a godsend, as it felt natural and was very easy to adapt. Fairly decent crowdsourced linux tools for customisation needs.

Cons: Tad expensive, and probably not for someone on a budget. The geometry was a bit rough at first, but I got used to it fairly quickly, and the mouse feels very comfortable now.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Good shape. Fits comfortably in your hand. The light system is a cool touch. Nice interface to customize the mouse settings and macros. I was a bit concerned i wouldn't like the mouse wheel but pleased to say it is the best i have ever used. Great weight to it, not to light but not to heavy.

Cons: The software was a bit slow. Not a big deal and i hope it will be improved in future updates.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anybody. great price for what you get.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: The mouse works great as expected. As a Razer product users switching over to Roccat, I feel they have a different, but still in touch idea of what a gamer needs in their mouse. A mouse is not just for clicking, but an extension of the controls, and the mouse shows this in form and function. Razer is for the ergonomic gamer, and Roccat is for the technical gamer. And I like technical.

Other Pros:
- 7 preset colors to choose from for the illumination. My previous mouse, the Razer Deathadder, only glowed blue, which was nice in conjunction with my keyboard also glowing blue, but Im not a huge blue fan.
- Very customizable with 7 buttons. Ive been wanting side buttons on both sides ever since I got the Razer Orochi for my laptop, but as that mouse is small, I cant use it for long periods of time on my desktop.
- Comfortable to use for extended periods of time. Its long enough to allow me to rest my hand on it without it feeling like a giant trying to balance on a stick.
- Smooth surface on the top improve the comfort over my Deathadder. It feels rather breathable so instances of hand sweat have decreased.

Cons: The reason for only giving 4 eggs is I have a couple of complaints and issues when setting up the mouse.

- The configuration software was difficult to find. The driver installation seemed like a typical install of a driver only, and there was no indication that the software was installed along with it. Not even a desktop icon. I had to dig into the install location to find it after emailing their support. Its not a huge issue, nor a technical one on the mouse itself, but more of a failure on Roccat's part to inform users that the software is even there.
- Further, their website is fairly confusing. The product information page doesn't even link to the drivers download page, which is in a whole other section of the site. There seemed to be a large disconnect between sales and support when they designed their web page.

Other Thoughts: - The side buttons do seem a little stiff making them a little difficult to press some times. This may just be from not being broken in and/or im not completely used to it yet, but I thought I would mention it. Its completely functional otherwise.
