Pros: Excellent sound- a terrific experience, and the perfect alternative to the full blown 5.1 surround speaker system should you not have the room.
Have had these for close to a year and a half (bought at a store), and have not had a single issue.
Cons: The mic is good, but you have to fix it when you get it. Other then that, the sound quality and the capability to have an external speaker set alongside the headseat is awesome.
The subwoofer in the headphones can cause the other speakers to rattle if you set the bass too high.
Other Thoughts: If you get a bunch of static and squealing when the mic is plugged in it's easy to fix.
To fix the mic, all you have to do is remove the foam protector and the plastic housing- inside you'll see the microphone and two wires- if they are too close you get the squealing from feedback. Simply seperate them, and carefully put the housing back on, making sure you're not pushing the wires together.
Why 2 insulated leads are that close together in the open I have no idea.

Pros: Excellent highs and lows. Music really sounds good. Played COD4 at Exile Lan Party while wearing these helped out alot. Positional sound was good, not great. You can hear in which direction a nade fell however incoming fire was hard to detect unless you could see it.
Cons: Lost one star due to bad mic. It wasn't the mic itself, it was the wiring inside the inline control module. We tested it on 2 other PC's and got the same result. At this price it's uncalled for. Alittle tight on the head but was comfortable after extended use.
Other Thoughts: This is a good headset with the potential to be excellent if QC could get it together. If you buy these and your friends are complaining of popping and static from your mic, RMA IMMEDIATELY.

Pros: Great sound! Really hard to beat. Better than the other 2 sets of 5.1 headsets I own.
Cons: They hit the floor once in the 6 months or so Ive owned them. Actually they slid off the desk, rode the wall down and landed on top of a sealed box.. that was a few months ago. since then both cups have broken off, and the other day the mic stopped working. Im not a smoker so that isnt the cause for the plastic getting brittle... it came from the factory that way. NEVER again will i own a turtle beach headset. My HP1's lasted 4 yrs.. actually still work but the ear pads are in pretty rough shape. Very disappointing.
Other Thoughts: Ive used Turtle beach for years and enjoyed them very much. A shame they have succumbed to the disposable society ideal. Yeah, Ill have to replace these... BUT it certainly wont be with a pair of theirs. Warranty won't cover my dropping it One time but I think it should cover their poor choice of plastic.

Pros: Great surround, deep bass allaround awesome set.
Cons: The only con is that the earcups are not big enough and smash my ears and cause severe pain after extended use.
Other Thoughts: Oval-shaped earcups would make this set perfect!!

Pros: This headset puts out excellent sound on my X-Fi fatality soundcard. Configuration went w/o a hitch and the bass is deep and rich as long as you don't get it up too high. The true 5.1 takes gaming to the next level and really improves spatial awareness. The mic is crystal clear to other players compared to what i used in the past. To put the icing on the cake and eat it too...Turtle Beach built in an in-line splitter so that you could keep your external speakers intact without fumbling around the back of the computer to change sound systems. Oustanding value overall.
Cons: None at this point.
Other Thoughts: Maybe a CON but time will tell. I owned another 5.1 headset that was overly priced and worthless prior to this and I noticed that the ear pads looked oddly familiar. (Old headset was black, blue LEDs, and has snakes on it to be fair to the review guidelines) Liking that they were broken in already I took off the padding and low and behold its a perfect fit to the Turtle Beach. The overall architecture of the TB headphones is strikingly similar to this other brand's. I had to buy a new headset because of the inferior quality of the previous headsets after they self destructed and fell apart with normal usage. I'm still skeptical about how long the TB's will last. However; TB puts similar products to shame with outstanding mic quality, PRICE, sound, and control module durability. And heck, I can buy two of these for what it cost me to buy one of the others.
