3 out of 5 eggsvery cool but.

Pros: really cool and has possibilities.

Cons: to get to use it you must create an account at there website and then download their software. it is too much of a hassle. want to plug it in another laptop or something, re download the 200MB file and install for each machine. returned, for too much hassle. only works on a USB3.0 port.

Other Thoughts: the idea was good and great, but no driver disk! total fail.

1 out of 5 eggsGood idea, mine arrived broken

Pros: Small, and a good idea in concept.

Cons: Doesn't work on any of my computers. It says there is no USB bandwidth no matter what I do, even if no other USB devices are hooked up at all. Tired every idea I could find online, it's definitely a broken one. I will be returning it.

Other Thoughts: It's a great idea, just looks like the tech isn't there yet.

1 out of 5 eggsIts not ready

Pros: Great ideal and concept, small size.

Cons: It does not work and should still be in the testing lab, very slow unresponsive even on an 8 core mac pro with 32gb of ram, go back to the drawing board and do more testing before you sell a product

Other Thoughts: I was real excited when I saw the Steinberg Cubase IC app that allowed you to control Cubase stop lay fast forward zoom and other features. I was not very easy to do any of this, and was slow and clunky 100 times faster with a mouse, or ,y iPhone and iPad app.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat for what it is.

Pros: Small, attractive, very inventive. This product is great at providing a novel way to interact with your computer.

Cons: Very unreliable tracking, not convenient for daily use, store apps mostly cost money, and they tend to be expensive for what they are (in my opinion, obviously). This is not going to replace your mouse. It just won't. It is very uncomfortable to hold your hand up in mid air for as long as you might be resting it on a mouse. It is also very unreliable in even dimly lit rooms. Honestly it is just unreliable period. The tracking is very glitchy at times and it still needs some vast improvements before it should even be considered more than a toy or novelty.

Other Thoughts: If you aren't afraid to spend money on something that you most likely will not use all the time, or if you are like me, ever after the first week, then it truly is fun to use this product.

I was a very early supporter, having played with alpha prototypes, and receiving my dev-kit long before it was even certain that this product would actually make it to commercial market. I also pre-ordered my production model about a year in advance of release. I wanted so badly for this to be an amazing product, but it just never seemed to have all the kinks worked out. It was still just as glitchy and unpredictable on release day as it was almost a year before that why I first set up my dev kit.

tldr; fun for a week, still needs serious improvements to be considered more than a novelty item. Still worth the $80 for the experience.

2 out of 5 eggscurrently a Beta product...

Pros: Good quality of build. USB 3.0 connectable for better throughput.

Cons: Poor usability. Has own app-store.

Other Thoughts: After hooking it up and setting up my account to download drivers and software, I could not get it to function as a mouse/touch-screen. Turns out you have to download an application that makes the unit work like a mouse. This is a fantastic concept. But unfortunately mine is back in its box and sitting on my shelf till they release more refined software to make this a usable device for everyday computing.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what I want it to do!

Pros: I wanted to use this for a substitute mouse. I am having repetitive motion issues with my right arm from my mouse (even though it is ergonomic). I wanted to be able to use this with either arm and use different motion/muscles. With the correct app it does just that

Cons: I have to start the program for the app to use as a mouse each time I start the computer. No big deal. Also, it only works with ONE screen of my two monitor setup. Once again, not a big problem.

Other Thoughts: I spend a lot of time on the computer during the day, and this gives my body some relief from the constant use of a mouse. I am getting better and better at the using it each day. No glitches or problems that other reviewers have mentioned, but I am not using it for games and I have a decent computer.

4 out of 5 eggsLeap Motion

Pros: Has a lot potential, very quick response, connects easy, the download of the main was user friendly. I can see this really catching on in the gaming realm.

Cons: It very awkward getting out of the apps, you have to pretty much go to processes running to shut down app without having issues.

Other Thoughts: Would really like to see more of a minority report, type app to get the true potential of this device.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Get Awestruck...

Pros: Cool concept
Demo software is really inspiring

Cons: Impractical for computer navigation
Difficult to get to detect proper hand movements
Too expense for such an unreliable device

Other Thoughts: I almost bought the Leap Motion to replace the need of a touch screen on a laptop; I'm so relived I still got the touch screen. The leap motion looks great in its demo software, but is completely impractical for any other sort of computer usage. Apart from the initial awe factor of seeing your virtual hand in the Leap demo software, this device is completely worthless to me. It's too bad, because I had high hopes.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Accurately tracks fingers.
No noticeable lag time.
Extremely entertaining.
This thing is very, very responsive. However, it is very dependent upon the computer it is being used on.

Cons: USB cable included is too short.
It can be laggy with my Lenovo yoga, but the computer is not properly specced to use it. It is absolutely flawless on my desktop

Other Thoughts: It's cheap for the technology. I also think it's very important to learn how to use this technology. It's very intuitive, but it takes a lot of practice to be able to be precise on your own.
