4 out of 5 eggsMy Favorite

Pros: Comfortable, precise, modular... everything you want in a gaming mouse without too many bells and whistles to get in the way. I use this to play competative LoL and other games.

Cons: The only complaint I can make is the mouse wheel and sensitivity selector. They seem to be the failing point of the mouse. I'm currently buying my 3rd or 4th Rat3 .

Mice don't last forever, especially when you beat them as much as I do. But the fact that both mice failed the same way could be saying something about the QC on that particular part.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Performace

Pros: I have owned this mouse for over 4 years. It has survived through two different computer builds, and I have always been happy with it.

Some of the things that have always stood out to me were: button responsiveness, excellent form factor for my hand, and durability.

I used to use this with my gaming laptop, and would cart it back and forth between my house and friend's house. Multiple times I have dropped it from approximately 4 feet on to concrete, with no damage.

Cons: There is a slight drift of the cursor when the mouse is sitting still, not sure if this is due to the mouse pad I use. Despite this I have never had a problem making my shot in a FPS, or misclicking, the sensitivity and accuracy of the mouse balance this con out.

When my computer would wake from sleep mode, it would set the mouse to its highest DPI setting, but using the button on the mouse would easily correct this problem.

Other Thoughts: I have used this mouse since late 2009, and it has reliably served its function. I would recommend this product if you are a semi-casual gamer looking for a durable companion.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but doesn't last long

Pros: Very responsive

Cons: Cable connecting to the USB male adapter loosened free after 2-3 months of regular usage.

Other Thoughts: This mouse is very comfortable, customizable, and responsive. It has to be one of the best mice I've ever had, but it broke after 2-3 months of usage. I sent it in for warranty, but it happened all over again. I do not recommend buying this mouse.

5 out of 5 eggs(fix) Middle mouse button stopped working

Pros: Best mouse I've ever owned. Thumb rest is amazing and it glides very smooth. I love the two extra buttons on the side. I use them all the time while gaming. As well as the dpi button. I definitely recommend it. Everyone that uses my computer always comments on my mouse. They tell me it looks like a robot but everyone that has used it, likes it.

Cons: My middle mouse stopped working a few months back. I thought it was a driver issue but it turns out that something in the mouse is shock sensitive with the middle mouse button.

To fix this, all you have to do is turn the mouse upside down and hit the bottom of the mouse with your palm. It may take a little force to get it to work, but I didn't have to hit it that hard.

3 out of 5 eggsRicy, but functional

Pros: -Sensor picks up what it should
-5 button mouse. If you've tried to go back to a three button mouse after having a five button it's incredibly painful.
-Adjustable DPI
-Solid build quality. It feels like a well engineered piece of machinery.
-Surprisingly comfortable. It may look jagged and unfriendly but it's actually pretty well molded to the human hand.
-Braided cable. After having a great many devices of all types kick it due to a poor cable this is definitely a plus for me.

Cons: -This is the big one. I personally think it's very, very ugly. I'm more of a minimalist though, so you can imagine why this wouldn't be to my taste.
-The thumb buttons are in a strange position. They're perfectly usable in the position they're in but it takes getting used to.
-I don't really like the software that comes with it. It works, but it feels strange to work with.
-A minor one, but the mouse doesn't "remember" the DPI setting you had it set to after you shut down. It soon became a ritual to me to crank it up two notches every time I boot up though.

Other Thoughts: It's definitely a good mouse. If you can get past the strange aesthetic and minor quirks it'll get the job done and more.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Alright, I'm no expert on gaming mice. In fact, this is the first one I've owned. I'm used to wireless Logitech mice. But here we go!
First off, the mouse comes in a nice, clean looking box with art of the mouse and a strange looking cyborg rat thing on the side. When you remove the sleeve, then open the box, it reveals the mouse packaged in firm black foam. The cord is neatly tucked away under the foam, along with some papers. Most, for me, were just promos for flying games. What that has to do with my mouse, I have no idea. Anywho, when you plug the mouse in, it automatically begins looking for drivers (Like any good new peripheral) and soon finds them. The first thing I noticed was how slow the cursor was. I was instantly disappointed! How could a gaming mouse move the cursor so slowly?! Then I remembered, adjustable DPI, duh. So I hit the DPI button a few times and got it set to the third setting. This brought much entertainment, by the way. For kicks I set it to the highest setting and zipped it around the screen. But enough of that. So I booted up Arma 3, and did some tinkering. Anyone who's ever played Arma in general knows there is a freelook option hotkeyed to left-alt. I decided to map this to the forward browsing mouse button. I jumped onto Altis, started walking, hit the button, and by Jove, looked around. This may seem an absurdly small accomplishment, but for me, it was amazing! So I closed it down, then moved on to Battlefield 2's Project Reality mod that was recently released in its full 1.0 state. I quickly discovered the sensitivity was much to high, and flicked the DPI button down one. It was perfect. I then proceeded to spend about an hour playing to my heart's content. I then remembered, hey! There's software to make profiles for this puppy! Let's get some! So I downloaded it, and ran it. Sadly, thus we proceed to the next section.

Cons: I booted up the Profile editor, said controller not detected. I was one confused fellow! It was connected and working just fine! In fact, I had just spent an hour shooting AI with it! I wondered what possibly could be wrong! Mad Catz's website had nothing on it with which to help me! I was left to...Google. DUN DUN DUNNNN. Not really a bad thing. Anywho. Then...

Other Thoughts: I found the issue! Basically the driver it downloaded when I first plugged it in is NOT a Mad Catz driver, but instead a Microsoft driver. All you have to do is download the correct driver from Mad Catz's support website, then run the .exe! Then you can customize your mouse to your heart's content!
And with that, I close my review. I hope it's been helpful, but if not, sorry! I'm thoroughly enjoying this mouse, and if you buy one, I hope you do too!

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Does what it is made to do (Be a gaming mouse)
Have programmable buttons
Slick, unique design. (Matches my computer :D)

Cons: The "solid" feeling isn't totally there. If you are in a hot room with sweaty hands, you would not like this mouse.

Other Thoughts: I've had another mouse from Razer before this. This is a good replacement. I also got the color I wanted to match my gaming case.

I did not buy this through newegg

2 out of 5 eggsLove Hate

Pros: Love the overall feel.

Cons: I have had 2 now that have broken with in 2-3 months of use this mouse would be the best if not for the fact that it just does not hold up.
