4 out of 5 eggsPost Mortem

Pros: *Wireless! This cannot be stressed enough. You can walk away from your computer and continue to listen uninterrupted.
*Cheap: I personally have issues with wired headsets breaking constantly due to wires breaking within the cord. I spent far more money on wired headsets in a much shorter amount of time than I had on this headset if I had gotten it to begin with. This headset has lasted 2 years+ so far.
*Range: I could hear my computer from about 20ish yards away.

Cons: *Poor sound quality: I really didnt care about sound quality. These fit what i needed perfectly, I was able to hear movies, games, youtube videos etc etc.
*Cheap Materials: The plastic between the headset and the headphones is very thin. Recently both sides broke and I had to repair them myself. ** see notes**
*Charge length: Sometimes the charge lasts for hours, other times it lasts a bit less than that. **see notes**
*Occasional interference: buzzing humming etc etc. but that was probably just some electric motor nearby causing a problem.
*Charge cord: If you want to continue using this headset charged in with the cord it comes with, I hope you like staring at your computer from 6 inches away from your desktop. **see notes**

*Charge cord: This is an easy fix, grab a mini usb wall charger from an old cell phone that has a long charge cord. Any mini-usb wall charger will work! This is how I keep mine charged.

Other Thoughts: *Cheap Materials: GORILLA GLUE! This stuff is amazing! that little piece of plastic that broke can be glued back together and kept in position even with constant torque by using gorilla glue to put it back together. The glue expands, expect it. Keep the pieces together for ~1 hour and it will be like new (with white foam between).
*Charge length: Most of the time I keep the headset plugged in while using it. This does not defeat the purpose of getting a wireless headset. The headset is still useable even if the charger breaks and therefore does not need to be replaced like other headsets do when their chords wires break. Even chargers with broken wires can still charge if left in the correct position. In contrast Wired headsets sound fades in and out when it breaks, the microphone becomes staticy and loud to listeners and becomes generally unusable.

Personal Verdict: I love this headset! Yes it has its problems, but if you are smart and dont mind a little elbow grease it works gre

2 out of 5 eggsSo disappointing

Pros: - Pretty good sound quality
- Good wireless range

Cons: - Short charge cable
- Battery life is not as advertised
- Battery randomly shorts out when it has just been charged
- Sometimes develops high pitched buzzing for no reason (i moved the dongle to another device and it persisted) that won't clear for several minutes
- Badly molded plastic. The plastic just above the right swivel snapped. I have glued it several times, but there is enough tension from the headpiece that it breaks again after a few days.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap, in a bad way

Pros: Works sometimes, doesn't require a driver in XP or Win7

Cons: Super short charging cord. Wireless range is substandard and very affected by any type of interference. Had to RMA two sets, first one, the USB transmitter died, second one the swivel (a known design flaw) broke.

Other Thoughts: After navigating the disaster that is ASUS support and returning it per their instructions, it was returned as unrepairable, but under warranty. Unacceptable. Will not buy from again.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: I've used this headset for over 2 years now (got it in sept/oct 2009.) I think it's great! It's got excellent crisp sound quality and the battery last at least 6-8 hours on a single charge.

Regarding the length of the charging cable: I have really long socket to mini-usb cable/cahrger (from a different device), which I use with this; so I've been able to charge it comfortably while using my computer. A long mini-usb cable should not be too hard to find online for cheap, so I think this problem is easily mitigated.

Cons: None really.

There was one incident (just once), when during charging the mic recorded crackling noises. Unplugging the charging cord stopped the noise. I wouldn't really consider it a con since it only happened once.

1 out of 5 eggsFollow Up

Pros: Convenient (wireless), painless setup on Win7, charges quickly

Cons: Battery life gets lower and lower each time it's used. Headphones are made from plastic so brittle you don't dare sneeze while wearing them. The sound alone could shatter the earpiece mounts.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY THESE. I posted in the past about how to repair/prevent the ear cuff swivels from shattering while you pick the headphones up. I wasn't aware at the time that the cuffs themselves were also made from plastic so brittle that thoughts alone can shatter them. These things are like the anti-weirding module. Your thoughts become killing words, but only work on your headset. It crumbled after 2 months of infrequent use. I tried repairing it with various methods (including copious amounts of JB Weld) but more of the plastic shatters. It spreads like a blight through the plastic. Absolute garbage, and ASUS should be ashamed of themselves for selling this piece of junk on the market.

2 out of 5 eggsGood...for 3 months

Pros: -Wireless
-range through out my house

Cons: -Bad design (ear pieces to head band connection was weak and broke after 3 months of use.
-ASUS support is a joke. Called them up and told them the ear piece broke off. They said to send it in and they would fix it. Got an email back saying they don't cover physical damage and they would send it back >.> (I manged to temporarily fix it with tape.

Other Thoughts: Its okay if you want a headset that breaks in about three months. I did treat it carefully too, I took it off with both hands to reduce stress on the joints but just wearing it broke one of the joints.

3 out of 5 eggsWireless Happiness

Pros: I was warned against buying this headset mostly due to the fact that it was wireless. But to be honest, they are great, and it was a great deal. Easily my favorite headset by far. The mic was crisp and clear and the feedback was nice, does well with dubstep. :) Also tested the range of these and they worked great, left my laptop in the basement and did housework, even worked on the second floor and through several walls.

Cons: The fit is a bit tight if you wear these for a few hours, easily managed if you just alternate uncovering one ear or the other, a headset is a headset; its going to be on your ears.
After a few months the casing for the USB jack became loose. Either from average wear and tear or old glue on the inside I now have to be really careful when dealing with the USB drive, bumping it causes total loss of headset use, reverting it back to my laptop speakers...

Other Thoughts: A longer charging chord would be nice, I am usually on my computer for a few hours and being isolated to a foot and a half leash really sucks. Other than that it was a worthy buy, just be careful about the USB jack.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat headphones until they broke.

Pros: The range was excellent, great quality sound and the battery lasted long enough.

Cons: Tight around the head, not comfortable after an extended session. Hinge on the ear broke while putting them on.

Other Thoughts: Asus won't replace nor repair them after they broke. Not happy with Asus customer support.

3 out of 5 eggsBattery does not last

Pros: The comfort, sound quality and ease of use on this headset are all quite good.

Cons: I am on my second set and they are dead. Battery lasts about 6 months on this one, the first set about 6 weeks. When battery fails it cannot be used even plugged in to USB port. I only used them on Skype a few times a week and I can't find replacement batteries anywhere. I charged them and then unplugged them for fear of battery memory concerns and when they went dead repeated process but the batteries just don't last.

Other Thoughts: I have bought and sold ASUS products for over 15 years and the last few have seen a decline in quality and service to the point that I cannot sell or use their products anymore.
