3 out of 5 eggsTank of a mouse, it eats smaller mice

Pros: -The quality is amazing, from the braided wire to the metal frame of the mouse (can be a con, weight)
-Excellent tracking
-Great fast and slow modes
-Sniper button can be fun but its just as easy to use the middle button settings
-Great for medium hands, fills my hand which I like. (may work ok with bigger hands too but not small hands)
-The LED light is tiny and non distractive which I love

Cons: -Heavy (even with weights out)
-Too heavy to pick up and lay down quickly during FPS or RTS game scrolling.
-Ergonomics for the sides give an awkward lack of grip, as if this was designed to not be picked up with one hand easily.
-If you have small hands you will probably not be able to use this mouse without getting frustrated.

Other Thoughts: It really really really really bothers me I can't pick this mouse up with one hand comfortably without losing grip.

They should keep everything the same and just make the sides easier for fingers to wedge in and lift this heavy mouse with ease and precision, or make it 70% lighter. Use plastic frame instead of metal perhaps.

3 out of 5 eggs11 Month Update, Dropped An Egg.

Pros: 50-8200 dpi adjustability over three presets and the "Sniper" button. At first, the program looks as though each preset is infinitely adjustable, but they're really adjustable in 50 dpi increments.
Nice texture, solid feel, looks great.
Haven't messed with the weights yet, but the ability to swap them out is a handy feature.
Light, yet defined clicks.
Adjustable lift height.
Ability to turn the ambient lighting on or off.

Cons: *Original Review 2014-10-22.*

*Update 2015-09-16.*
About a week ago the scroll wheel started glitching out. When scrolling down, certain "clicks" will scroll up, and vice versa. Say if one full rotation of the scroll wheel is 20 clicks, two or three of those clicks will scroll the opposite direction of what you're wanting to go. Very annoying when scrolling down a list or document and suddenly the text jumps up half a page. Sort of disappointing, considering my Sidewinder lasted from 2009 to 2014 before the left-click button started getting weak. Hoping maybe I got a fluke, because the mouse is awesome otherwise.

Other than that, no cons really. I've read bad things about the software, but haven't had any issues with it. Downloaded and installed just fine.

Coming from a wider MS Sidewinder, it feels slightly cramped to me, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. (Update: It didn't take long to get accustomed to.)

Other Thoughts: My old MS Sidewinder Laser Gaming Mouse (HKA-00001, similar to the X5) finally began to lose its left-click effectiveness after five years of use (including many click-happy rounds of Plants Vs Zombies). Considering that particular model is discontinued, and I wasn't keen on buying a used one, I decided to go with this Corsair M65. Has all the features I wanted without too many extra buttons that'd just get in my way.

Considering my Sidewinder mouse maxed out at 2000 dpi, this Corsair is a big step up in the speed department. With a flick of the wrist I can snap the mouse from corner to corner across two screens. That'll take some getting used to.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome FPS mouse

Pros: - Great size and shape for palm-grip users
- Simple & stable software
- Customisation of lift height and sensitivity stages
- Profiles saved directly to mouse, so easy to move between PCs
- Good quality braided cord
- Amazing build quality with aluminium chasis; way better than competitors' plastic nonsense!

Cons: - "Sniper" button is too far from my thumb (and no, I don't have Megan Fox thumbs!)
- Documentation for macro-recording is confusing
- Can't turn off sensitivity indicator LEDs (i.e. no option for a timeout length)
- A couple of extra buttons or thumb scroll would have been nice

Other Thoughts: Corsair quality really is great - I need to buy more of their products ^_^

3 out of 5 eggsMiddle mouse button is not reliable

Pros: Nice features, weight, design

Cons: Poor quality middle mouse button.

Other Thoughts: The middle mouse microswitch is poor quality, I had to RMA this mouse twice due to the middle microswitch not working.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Mouse

Pros: veary fast and responsive, looks nice and has a veary solid build quality

Cons: If a fresh install of windows you'll need to wait for its software it install before it even works. paint on the sniper button and the corsair logo wared off within a week or 2

Other Thoughts: Id definitely recommend this mouse to anyone makeing a short term gamming PC but after a while this mouse starts to look used fast, (i dont have sweaty hands) but it is lookin pretty old, go for a razer for a more better mouse but if your cheap on the money this is defiantly a solid choice

5 out of 5 eggsmy 2 cents

Pros: Well made, smooth operation, skates are slick and glide across my desk easily. Button click nicely, and the texture on the outer plastic is not too slick and not too gripy. The simplicity of it (not too many extra button and features) makes it a good everyday work mouse too. The software for it is relatively simple and strait forward, although I can't comment on the macro settings, as I'll never use them. Over all, it seems to be a good mouse for gaming AND every day use.

Cons: I haven't found anything that could count as a actual con, although I do have some complaints that are specific to me, and possibly a few other people too.

Other Thoughts: It easier to go to a store and play with a mouse before settling on one. You can learn a lot about it in just a few seconds vs. looking at picture and reading specs. I wasn't aware that the wheel didn't have the left/right side scroll button that you find on other mice.
There are two basic ways to grip a mouse. The palm method and the claw method. The sniper button seems to favor the palm method based on how far forward it is. For us people who "claw" the mouse, it needs to be back about 3/4 of an inch. The buttons above it could be moved back 1-2mm also. While using the sniper button with Call of Duty, I find that I have to turn the mouse at a 45 degree angle to get my thumb in the correct position to use it. I also tend to claw the mouse closer to the back, if I chock up on, it's not much of problem anymore, but feels odd to me. Like I said, these minor annoyance won't apply to very many people.

4 out of 5 eggsGood mouse

Pros: Good mouse, software works fine. Sensitivity can be customized, dpi is very good, overall accurate. Can be used with all types of grip, but I've found that I do better with a claw grip using this mouse. Good amount of buttons.

Cons: Sniper button is a bit awkward to use, they put it too far in front. Also another design flaw seems to be the middle mouse button starts breaking down a little bit over a year. Have owned this mouse for a year and a half and now I need to press down quite hard on the scroll wheel to activate the middle mouse button. Reading some other reviews this seems to be a common problem.

Other Thoughts: overall good mouse. Hopefully warranty covers this, I really like this mouse.

4 out of 5 eggsGREAT!

Pros: Everything about this mouse is fantastic! I Enjoy the easy to navigate program to the DPI buttons to the removable weights. Wish it was only around 40-50 $ but still a bang for the buck.

Cons: Only reason i gave 4 eggs instead of 5 is simply the sniper button seems just a tad far for my finger, I can still somewhat use it with ease but...

Other Thoughts: I'd recommend 9.5/10

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good weight, comfortable, liked the sniper button.

Cons: I didn't like the cable braid that would hang on my desk. The sniper button is in a slightly odd position. The scroll wheel broke after 2 years.

Other Thoughts: I was disappointed that after only 2 years the scroll wheel broke, so I threw it away and plugged in my 8 year old Logitech MX 518, and it still works like a champ.

Pros: accurate and silky smooth with mmpad love the sniper button, green color to go with case, well built and easy adjusting between games

Cons: Cable drags slightly, maybe it's the braided cables' texture , insignificant really
