4 out of 5 eggsGreat product but could use a little umph

Pros: -Great sound! I saw a review that said its too loud and he/she has to put it at 25% volume and put that as a con. I don't see that at all as a con.
-fit tightly around my head, i dont know what head size i am but I think they will be confortable for most. Someone also said that it hurt there ear, it does the same for me only because i put one of the speakers to the side so i can hear if someone is calling me or something.
-this brings me to another pro, noise cancelation is great with these, I can barely hear my voice if i im playing a game!
-at least for me, they feel great on my head, everything is comfortable and they feel like pillows pressed against my ears, a little over exaggeration there. I have been wearing these for a over 5 hours with some breaks and they feel good. except the ear part, which would happen to any headset you get.

Cons: - I think they could of done better with the bass, with a little swithing some options around its somewhat good but still could be a lot better.
-The red on the outside (the pad that goes around your head and on the outside of the speakers) should be brighter instead of a maroon colour. it doesnt really match the inside red which is like a hot rod red. just my opinion, i dont mind all that much though!

Other Thoughts: These great for the money, I bought these at $40 and I think thats what they should cost instead of the regular $60. The only bad part would be the hurting the ear part which all you need to do is shift it a little forward or backwards and its fine for the next 2 hours.

Honestly, theres no such thing as a perfect pair of headsets. I recommend these fully to anyone. I wouldnt listen to the people with one or two star reviews saying that something broke and therefor they give one star and dont even realize they can RMA it. Its not that hard and if you are a good person then you can effin wait!

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Sound but they pickup other sounds

Pros: Very Comfortable (1 star) Decent Sound for price (1 star)

Cons: Picks up local radio station even when nobody has radio on in house and is wired. It is very faint but noticeable (-1 star) Also audio cuts out occasionally...so ya (-2 stars)

Other Thoughts: Competitive pricing for the 7.1 surround sound, maybe i got a bad pair, I dunno but Im going to leave the audio for my next years to a company a little more established, even if pricing is a little higher.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty great.

Pros: 1) 7.1 Surround
2) Decent mic quality
3) Great sound quality

Cons: 1) It is really loud. I had to turn my volume to %25~
2) Its a little flimsy. The rubber covering over the microphone fell off after I dropped it once.

Other Thoughts: All in all, a really good headset for gaming

3 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: USB
Good mic
Long cord
Good sound
Volume and mute controls are in a good place on the cord

Cons: VERY uncomfortable
Red or maroon doesn't match with many other products

Other Thoughts: I had to stop using these because they just hurt my head so bad. After about 30-60 minutes my ears start hurting and I can't keep them on. So if you have a big head I would suggest avoiding these.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Sounded great while they worked.

Cons: They broke 3 weeks later, left ear just stopped working. Most likely from them packaging the wire super bundled up causing numerous kinks that you have to correct or the wire wraps back up by itself and gets really annoying. Corsair makes great products, but their headsets are trash, I took a risk buying this knowing there were issues and now I regret it. Don't buy this headset.

4 out of 5 eggsCorsair HS40

Pros: I had these over the busy period of Christmas and I have a chance to test them in many various environments with different software. Here are my thoughts:

- I have a really big head, and some headphones like Beats Studio hurt my ears when worn longer than 30 minutes. No problem like that with Corsair HS40. I had them constantly on for 3 hours and didn't feel any discomfort. Padding is great and the tension is just right.

- I like the red color design. But for others it might be too flashy.

- Noise cancelling in & out is very good. Compared to mine AudioTechnica ATH-M50 those has almost ZERO sound bleed out on high volumes. Of course the are not even close to produce the volumes the ATH-M50's are with Fiio Pocket Amp, but for gaming environment or video conferencing the volume on HS40s is plenty loud and the fact nobody can hear what you are listening too is a big plus.

- The price to quality ratio is about right for gaming headphones.

- Arrived in nice packaging.

Cons: Sound, sound, sound ....

After using Audio Technica's ATH-M50 those HS40s just don't sound right. Any music or HD movies sounded ... weak. The bass is just not there. I think some sort of equalizer should be implemented.

Other Thoughts: Other than music and movies, those headphones work just fine. For gaming, video cat, watching youtube etc. they are great. Very comfortable, which makes them a great choice for gamers.

As far as 7.1 gimmick, I did not really hear that much difference from mine 5.1 Logitech Speaker setup. I wouldn't consider that a deal breaker.

I would definitely recommend those to my friends and clients who are looking for good built quality, good sounding and comfortable GAMING headphones. And that's exactly what those are.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is really great.

Pros: See other review

Cons: See other review

Other Thoughts: I reviewed this before, but after using it some and seeing the price is restored to the normal price I had to come back and re-rate it. Its just a really excellent unit. The more I use it, the more I like it. I still stand by the cons I gave before, but the longer I have it, the less they really matter to me. It is a high quality headset and sounds wonderful.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Big headband which I like because I have a big head. The headband also has padding on the top making it comfortable for wearing for extended times.
The sound is quite good. Once you download the software it emulates 7.1 fairly well for games. Music is hit or miss.
The controller buttons are located conveniently right inline at about chest height.
Using for Skype and Google they work remarkably well with clarity on both ends.

Cons: The ear cups are just a bit too small. Yes I have a big head and big ears, but this made the headset uncomfortable on the ears and diminishing the noise cancelling effect. This is the loss of one egg.
For some odd reason my work VOIP phone in a VMware didn't play nicely with this set. This could be completely on VMware though.

Other Thoughts: Overall I would have expected more than two speakers internally for the 7.1, but even with synthesized 7.1 these could have pulled it off for gaming. Given the cups didn't fit my big ears I will use another set. If you don't have Dumbo ears these would be great.

4 out of 5 eggswell built, sounds great once configured

Pros: Great sound once you configure it.
Works on Android
Easy to configure

Cons: Very poor product support.
Does not come with software, you have to download it from their website.
Uncomfortable after some time.
HUGE, but if you take the covers off you see that there is plenty of room for additional speakers to give a REAL 71 effect
7.1 is simulated, rather badly, by only 2 speakers

Other Thoughts: The surround sound is an effect created by 2 speakers. Though there is plenty of room in the massive cuffs to fit additional speakers, they failed to do so. You have to download their software to get the surround sound effect, but all it seems to do is create an echo.

The sound is very good. I would say that it's about on par with a set of Plantronics Bluetooth headphones that were designed for music.

Music sounds tinny and a bit distant
Games, on the other hand, sound fantastic. Which is no surprise since that's what they were designed for. The surround sound effect somewhat works, but it depends on the game.

Movies also sound good with the surround sound effect turned off. A surround sound movie does not actually sound like surround sound with these headphones.

I have been testing/using these for the past week and I have mixed feelings for them. They are far too large and uncomfortable for long periods, over about 2 hours. The band is for people that have really really large heads. I wear a size large motorcycle helmet and these don't go small enough for my head.

These area a really good idea... but they need work, that's why only 4 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for gaming

Pros: These headphones are a simple setup on Windows 7, 8, and my *buntu computers. High and mid-range sounds are fantastic. They are extremely comfortable, even during periods of extended use. They fit my large melon very well, with plenty of room to spare. The headset excels at blocking out noise. The microphone boom swings up and out of the way when not in use. There are inline controls for adjusting the volume and muting the microphone. The microphone status is indicated by two lights on the volume controls which are blue for live, red for muted. The headphones seem well constructed, are great at blocking noise, fit well and reproduce game sound nicely. But that isn’t why I was really wowed with these headphones.
It is when I started gaming when these surround sound headphones really shined. They ended my skepticism of multidimensional audio in a pair of headphones. In first person shooters I could tell the direction from where sound was originating. In real time strategy I could hear the direction from which an enemy unit approached. My jaw dropped at the dimension of sound produced by this headset.

Cons: Bass reproduction is somewhat lacking. It sounds well enough for game sounds, but for music it leaves the audiophile desiring deeper, fuller bass. Not a big fan of the red.

Other Thoughts: These headphones are amazing in-game. They really wow! Get them if you’re looking for an easy way to have a quality surrounded sound experience without disturbing others – and possibly have an advantage over other players!
