2400-DPI optical sensor with on-the-fly switching

The high-resolution sensor keeps up with your fast moves and works well with large displays. On-the-fly switching is great for gaming: use higher DPIs in fast-paced situations, and instantly switch when you need accuracy for long-range weapons. The onboard LED indicator lets you keep track of your selected DPI.

Six Buttons

Better gameplay requires faster response. You can map critical game functions to the mouse buttons so you can keep your left hand where it belongs... on the movement keys.

Gaming Ergonomics

LM3 is molded to fit your right hand, and has a soft-touch finish and a rubber thumb grip for comfortable play.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good mouse for the money

Pros: Comfortable, optical (I hate laser mice), sleek, attractive, colors change with a button press, still working, good price. I am a heavy PC user and I burn through mice and keyboards anywhere from 6 months to 2 years and this one is still working for me.

I'm a serious gamer who happens to prefer optical mice over lasers and if there was a better optical mouse on the market that I knew of, I'd purchase it and use it. Tune up the primary mouse button click detection and enlarge the side buttons and this mouse would be not just a 5/5 but my favorite mouse of all time.

I'm currently using this mouse.

Cons: I'm a pretty discerning mouse user, so keep that in mind. I've got a dozen mice laying around that I compare this to, some of which have received awards from PC Gamer, etc., so when I say this thing has a few opportunities for improvement, don't think that it's not a great mouse. For the price, it's exceptional.

Buttons. Sub-optimal button layout in several ways. I'll elaborate:

The side buttons are (imo) too small and sometimes difficult to locate quickly and blend in with the mouse side since they're made of the same slick material. I often have to double check that my thumb is on a button and then re-check that it's on the correct side button. These buttons could be improved by making them out a different material than the side of the mouse which they blend in almost perfectly with or coating them with rubber, moved slightly further forward or re-located entirely, and enlarged so that they're easier to find. One of mine also has a sharp edge which annoys my thumb but I use that to help locate the button when I'm trying to press it.

Ideally, I'd like the buttons enlarged, coated in textured rubber. After that I'd want to experiment with having one of them on either side or possibly making a similar model with the mouse 4 and 5 buttons on opposite sides of the mouse. These changes + refining the primary and secondary buttons a bit would make this one of the best mice on the market, imo.

The primary and secondary mouse buttons are also not great at detecting rapid double/multi clicks. This seems to have gotten somewhat better as the mouse has gotten broken in. This problem may not be evident in all of the mice of this model, and other people might not notice it, but for someone whose rapid and precise clicking has won gaming tournaments, the primary and secondary buttons seem just a little sloppy at detecting when they're pressed.

After a year of heavy use, the mouse wheel is also showing signs of wanting to scroll the opposite way that I roll the mouse wheel, but this happens with most mice.

Other Thoughts: A good mouse. I would buy it again even with the cons that I listed.

1 out of 5 eggsTotal garbage

Pros: Feels nice in hand

Cons: Awful tracking at slow speeds, skips clicks when they are close together, sometimes not even double clicking, scroll wheel click doesn't always work, and the cord is a pain to get untangled. All of these problems were apparent in the first week after I purchased it.

Other Thoughts: Avoid, probably will never buy another corsair product if they put their name on junk like this.
