It Works!
- Pros: popped it in the drive bay, connected the sata and power, and its been running great ever since. reads the CD's good? lol. nice black paint.
- Cons: none.
- Other Thoughts: sort of loud when it starts reading the disc, but all CD drives are like that. the price is great and newegg was great as well.
Mostly good, until...
- Pros: It's pretty fast. It's black face plate matches the rest of my box. It allows me to buy whatever discs are on sale. Overall, not bad.
- Cons: This drive has been in my computer for 11 months of reasonably trouble free use. Now when I push the open button I can hear the belts turning and trying to open, but nothing happens. If I keep trying, it will eventually open. I suspect this will last for a brief period and then I'll need a paperclip. Time for a new drive.
- Other Thoughts: I sounds like the problem with this drive is mostly a problem with the belts. I would still buy a liteon drive.

you get what you pay for
- Pros: Looks like an cd-rom
- Cons: Works like a piece of junk. Didn't recognize, it did power up however but when i popped a cd in all it did was make some noise. I put in the cd-rom from my old dell pc and the thing worked right away. I kept that and sent this one back. What a waste of cardboard and peanuts.
- Other Thoughts: If you have optical drives sitting around from old pc's, try those out first before you decide to waste your time buying a new one.
Pleasant surprise
- Pros: Is an awesome CD-ROM drive. It is lightning fast for such a cheap drive. The black matches my case, well almost.
- Cons: I'm not sure what happened but when I was looking online I thought this drive also read DVD's. Guess I was hallucinating.
- Other Thoughts: Only cost $13.99 so I didn't feel like sending it back for a different drive.
