Pros: Cheap. Seemed to work... for a while

Cons: Not always will it actually read a blu ray disk. It takes several times of opening and closing the tray to get the drive to work. It finally kicked the bucket today.

Other Thoughts: I don't think I'll buy a lite-on product any longer. I want something that will last. I've had dvd drives that have lasted for years. Why shouldn't this?

Pros: No Problems at all, pluged it in and was able to run and play everything.

Cons: Havent found one yet

Pros: plays old blurays

Cons: DOES NOT PLAY NEW BLURAYS WITH SOFTWARE THAT COMES WITH THE DRIVE. YOU MUST SPEND $5X.00-$9X.00 TO PLAY NEW BLURAY MOVIES.

Other Thoughts: and yes, I am 100% sure of this. All movies since i got Street Kings/indiana jones ish era on bluray will NOT play on the cyberlink powerdvd software that comes with the drive. old blurays still work fine.

Pros: Works good so far but have only tried Iron Man which works flawlessly. Shipped with cable and OEM PowerDVD 7.3. Came with latest firmware installed.

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: The blue LED was a nice surprise. Matches the color but thankfully not train headlight brightness of the LED on my HAF 932 that will shine through an inch thick board.

Pros: I've had this drive for ~5-6 months and it works great. Contrary to other folks, I've had no issues getting it to work with all the latest BD titles from Jumper to Transformers to Indiana Jones 4, which was just released. If you have issues like this, there's a potential encryption issue with your software.

Cons: No write capabilities, which is unfortunate, but keeps costs low...

Other Thoughts: Wish it would come in IDE, since my system has utilized all the SATA connectors.

Pros: Cheap and easy. Media center integration is nice.

Cons: Video is choppy when I'm playing through Vista media center with TotalMedia Theater. When playing outside of media center, it works great. I attribute it to my video card which barely meets specs - Nvidia 8400. Not a big deal since the remote still works.

Other Thoughts: I waited for this to drop under $100 to pick it up. Looks like the newest ones come with the latest firmware installed. I plugged it in, got TotalMedia Theater, and everything works great. I think SPDIF wasn't working properly when playing through media center, but it worked fine through TotalMedia Theater standalone. I didn't debug too much since I'm not going to use through Vista media center for the time being.

Pros: Works on every movie we've tried.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Just plugged it in, and popped in a movie.

Bam!

Pros: It worked well, after the new firmware and an obscure update on the cyberlink website.

Cons: Should work without me needing to spend hours searching all kinds of internet leads. Don't care if its a cheap drive, should still work out of the box.

Other Thoughts: The packaged OEM powerDVD had issues playing Speed Racer wouldn't get past the first trailer.

Needed to download the LG update found on this page:

Now i have LG branded powerDVD player, but it fixed the issues I was having with Speed Racer, and I didn't need to purchase a new Player.

I should mention that i do have anyDVD installed also - not sure if it helps any for playback, but it lets me copy blu-rays to my harddrive. Check out MyMovies plugin for WMC - its awsome.

Pros: Good Price.

Cons: Did not recognize any blu-ray discs! It did not come with the software disc or sata cable that were shown in the pictures.

Other Thoughts: RMA process went smooth. I will see if the replacement drive works. For now it gets an overall egg rating of 1

Pros: No problem reading any netflix blu-ray so far, including godfather parts 1 & 2 which must be dual layer due to the size.

1080p is sweet, and an unexpected benefit was the sound quality. (I have a reasonably good 2 channel setup)

Cons: Included powerdvd does not fullscreen a 2nd monitor (my 1080p tv) - it seems to limit itself to the resolution of the primary monitor. Works perfectly if my tv is set as primary monitor. Not sure if this is a powerdvd or gfx driver issue, but other video software works fine.

Other Thoughts: Started small with this purchase, but ended up costing me more than a stand alone blu-ray player in total after getting a new cpu, mobo & memory as my athlon64 3700+ could not cope with blu-ray playback. Also bought a copy of anydvd-hd and have combined it with eac3to so I'm not stuck with using powerdvd (which would be fine if not for the above issue).
